Wintry Weather.....

Even in the worst of weather , we get a pretty sunset , now and then. Our weather has kept me indoors way too long.
This is how cold it's been. Oh I know some states won't see the ground for a long time to come. But this just freezes me looking at it because I recall how very cold it felt. I pray all of you are safe and warm.
After shoveling the walks for my mail carrier, I heard a honking sound. Had to get this photo. Three groups went by heading south....do you blame them? LOL. I told my daughter they were all complaining of the cold too. :) I am ready for an early spring.

I truly want to wish all of you a blessed new year. Good health and happiness. I, myself, have been trying to stay healthy and keep busy. I am still going to Bingo and music fellowship with my friends. I have had some great times with them. I think if we have one good belly laugh , it's a dose of medicine. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones. XOXO

  2. Great to see you posting again. I miss you. I don't go out when the weather is bad either. In fact I text the church and asked to be off the greeters list until March because I don't want to cancel at the last minute because of bad roads. ❄️🌬️❄️🌨️☃️

    1. Good idea. Plus the risk of falling. I have a couple younger friends who have slipped on snow or ice and injured themselves. Hope you can stay well. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  4. If I did not have to go out these past two weeks to take my dog out, I would have stayed inside myself. He is a Samoyed and loves the snow, so he of course is enjoying it. Now I have to go back to work...holiday over so out again I go again. We had more snow overnight. Am so ready for Spring. Good idea to shovel. We keep our porches and steps clean always. Janice

    1. Janice, Dogs do seem to love romping in the snow. It's good to clear a pathway for little dogs. Stay warm, wipe the dogs paws. Bless you, xoxo,Susie

  5. Good Morning, Susie! From 39 degree Indy---so glad to see your flag flying and I hope you had a wonderful Holiday season.

I LOVE this place, and it said HOME to me that Christmas day NIGHT that we rolled up here from Alabama exactkt thirty-five years ago. We'd been on the road from the coast since 5 a.m. and when he got out of the car at the 56th st Marathon to get gas, the plowed snow reached up to my WINDOW. Heaven to this girl from Hot hot Mississippi.

I'm so glad for your wonderful social life with such lovely friends; we keep close to home, and I have one little map I can drive to anything we need, without getting on 465.

Our porch seems to collect more snow than the yard, and I don't step out onto anything but clear ground, but I recently found the most wonderful sprinkle-salt that I hand-scattered over all the path to the door from a little plastic bucket, and in an hour, there was an enormous swath down to the porch planks, and the effect somehow lasted through the SECOND snow. I admire your fettle for snow-shoveling, and suggest some of that magic salt if you're inclined. It's ICE MELT in the brown-top bag---Leah ordered a couple from Wal-Mart and I recommend it.
Wishing you more pleasant outings, wonderful sunsets, goose flights, belly laughs and Happy Days all through the New Year. rachel

    1. Thank you Rachel. I don't mind shoveling a bit of snow or mowing or weed whacking, it's work so I do not need a gym membership. Then there's the dusting ,vacuuming ,and laundry. I like laundry and washing dishes. Stay warm and safe. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

  6. Happy New Year. I do remember those days of snow shoveling, but now have moved to Texas to live with my daughter. No snow here. We've been having some beautiful days that feel almost like summer.
I do agree laughter is the best medicine. It cures a lot of woes and is so good for you. Glad you found some good people to laugh with!
