Special Effects???.....

Yikes, what have I done? I took my camera out to get pictures of my birdhouses. They have all turned out with this weird pink color. Hope it's not my camera. I miss our birds. Maybe it's the wind, but I have not seen many birds around for some time.

Once Zoey Was Just A Kitten....

Now she's a grown cat with plenty of  cat-a-tude !!!! You can tell it's getting colder...the cat sleeps more. It's funny how long she can sleep. She only slept in this bed when she was a kitten . Now you'll find her everywhere. She does like being by the fire in winter.

Wind, Then Rain....

The wind blew for two days , pretty hard. Made the fence look woven of corn. Then the storms came last evening. Yikes. Looks scarier than it was for us.

It's A Good Day To Junk....

Wish I could have junked here. Spotted this place on our way to D.C. three weeks ago. It's too windy here in Tipton to do anything outdoors. So being inside looking for treasures would be fun. Yes, I could be doing housework of various kinds.....boring !!! I just finished cleaning the kitchen , so that's enough work for now. I'll do more in an hour or so. Don't you think one should wait at least an hour after eating to do housework...isn't that the old saying, LOL.

Today At Horton's Christmas Open House...

Starting at the top, this is part of Rebecca Ersfeld's booth. She had so many beautiful things , and if you know her, you know she's a beauty herself. I got one of Donna Reyne's candles, burlap bags, the "joy" blocks,  gift tags and flavored cocoas. The linen rosette was a gift from Rebecca to me, how very kind. Donna gave me the cone ornament, as a gift also, this lady's  a sweetheart. The Hortons gave a 1/4 pound of fudge to everyone in line buying something. WOW. There was cookies, brownies, crackers and spreads, plus lemonade and warm cider for everyone in the store to enjoy. It felt like a party for friends. If you ever have a chance to attend any open house at Horton's , please go. You won't be sorry . You will meet the nicest people.  My only regret , was not getting to stay longer....but I'll go back this coming week and get a few more things. You can't see it all in one trip.:):)

It's Veteran's Day , Thank You To All Who Served....

Today is a day to remember our troops those that served and those that are still serving. The top is the Korean Memorial and the wall of stars is the WW2 Memorial (4,000 gold stars...each representing 100 fallen).. Sorry I have no pictures of the Veitnam and Iwo Jima memorials. But I thank all of you.

Here At Horton's......

This photo is from one of the open houses at Horton's in Tipton. D'Reyne is the decorator, she is awesome, and I rarely use that word. This Saturday , I am going to the Christmas open house with my sisters. I am truly excited about it. I feel like I did as a kid. My sisters and I will explore the store, and buy some goodies. Then we will go to lunch together. I have tried to have a "Sister Day" 3-4 times a year. This will be one of them. We usually meet at my house and have lunch, look at old photos, or yearbooks, then take a nice walk. If you have family, I hope you can spend time with them this coming Thanksgiving. If they have flaws, look past them, because we all are flawed, and we only have so long in life.
