Plant Containers.....

This is one of the containers around Tipton. Every business has two or more. They were done in  purples, in honor of the relay for life. This was done for cancer survivors. Let's remember those brave people in our thoughts and prayers. Today is a much nicer day. The temperature is high 80's...which seems so cool compared to the 103 we had  for most of the past week. The humidity is lower... feels so good.   xo

 The top pic , I love the lace over the umbrella. They were setting up, that's why there is a fan in the photo. the next pic is of a narrow bed  piled with pillow and sweet mementoes. In the last photo you can see what a cute idea of making an old door into a chalkboard. and a seat spring into a picture holder. I have been thinking of the chalkboard since I saw this.:):) I  may have to make one of these, as I think this one is not for sale. I will try to get some nice picture of the Market, when it opens this Friday. Is it just me or is this year flying by?? I have said before that since I retired, my life grew wings. xo

Horton's.....

This is the front window of Horton's in Tipton. They are hosting the French Flea Market next weekend. This old bike is all dolled up and so cute. The banner on it says, follow me to the french flea. Inside there is a maze of window and doors , made into little rooms full of vignettes of wonderful treasures. My sisters and I are planning on going for a day of shopping. Don't forget to buy some of the Horton's home made fudges. Many different flavors to choose from. :):) I should have taken a few photos of the display windows. Can't wait to go. Clematis.....

Our new clematis did bloom. I love them. We had a two clematis in town, one on the mailbox and one on the entrance arbor. This is probably a bit sad...but hey ! it is blooming. Being on the east side of the house , it should make it through winter easily. This was not such a good year for my flowers, as it has been so very hot. , then there was the hard freeze in spring, it hurt somewhat. There's always next year, I guess. I plan on treating myself with a nice new rose bush on mother's day. I have seen everyone's flowers on blog sites. You are all doing very well. I saw some pretty roses just this morning on someone's site. That is not the easiest thing for me to grow.
  Yesterday, I caught the neighbor's goats ...out of their pen and in my yard ready to eat our plants. We ran them home with the garden hose,they hate water on them(?)... we penned them back up and it was not 15 minutes they were out again. We called the man to tell him he needed to fix the fence. He had Ted help him with his rickety old fence....good grief . I told the neighbor, this is my last time penning up your goats, fix the fence. Do you think the goats would go eat his beans or corn...no !!! they came straight to our yard. You can tell I am not happy about it all.  We never bother people , we mind our own business....all I want is the same respect. Things like this make me long to be back in town.  The topper is their lackadaisical attitude...saying "oh well you have to expect things like this." NO, NO I DON"T !!! Sorry for whining and ranting ..LOL.  xo

The Family Reunion....

 There were 39 people , that came to our reunion. Some friends came too.:):) Two brothers are not in the top photo, in the front row is me and all my siblings. Then me with 3 of my daughters, 2 g.daughters, family friend, sister and niece. The best surprise of the day was when our aunt Sherry and uncle Bill came. We had a fun time . We rented the Lion's Club....it was just way too hot for us to be outside. 99 degrees !! These next few days are going to be in the 100 mark or high nineties. I love summer and I don't mind hot...but hot and humid is a summer spoiler for me. Hope all of you had a  great fourth of July. xo

Fourth Of July.....

My table decor for the 4th. I just got the red chicken from hobby-lobby, for 5 dollars. The rest is from junking trips. I keep the flags out all the time, because my kitchen has lots of americana items. I can't even remember how old my table cloth is. I call it my picnic cloth....it reminds me of picnics. My family will have our reunion on the 4th. My 4 sisters and 5 brothers and their families. We do not have any other relatives near. I did invite our mother's best friend, hope she makes it.  It's humid today...stay cool. xo
