My Day With The Twins.....

   On Thursday, my twin daughters and I had a day together. We had a celebration ...Karen's (pink shirt) biopsy of her thyroid came back benign. She's healing nicely from her surgery, done on last Friday. We had a nice lunch at Bob Evans in Lafayette. 
   Then we shopped around for about an hour or so.  I only bought some mini lint roller and mints. Not a big shopping day for me.  Then Liz treated us to an ice cream at Cold Creamery...my second visit ever. So glad I do not live close to that place. The ice cream is too good.

The up date on my sister ...she is resting well. Still very alert.  Even when we call with the family code, the hospital will just gives general information. The new privacy laws, I guess. I know they are keeping Barb another week. Trying to find where the leak is or was. They want to do another dye scan.  Some times I say no news is good news, but in this case no news makes me anxious.
   When I went to the dentist on Wednesday, I was not in need of any drilling, filling, extractions, root canals, or crowns....oh happy day. Doctor Mike says I am have sensitivity.  Well as long as there's no cavities, or no fillings are cracked or falling out...then I can deal with it. So it felt good knowing I don't have to be back there till next month's cleaning.
  Our spring has jump smack dab into summer. The temperatures for the past 4 days have been in the 80's. I am not crazy about 80's when it's August. That's too hot for May. I pray all of you are safe.  Enjoy your day. XO

Spring Trees....

   The crabapple in our yard finally bloomed. This tree is taking on an odd shape....wish I could just be brave and trim it into a better shape.

  The Tulip Poplar is leafing ,it flowers after it's leaves are out. It will have yellow blooms. Big puffy white clouds and blue skies, I love it.

 This is a flowering crabapple in town.  Now I wish ours looked this good.

 This is a magnolia tulip tree, also in town.  Their blooms are spent already. I wanted to post pretty pictures, because I needed to cheer myself . Oh I do have good news on my blood work. The nurse finally called me yesterday. She said the report was excellent.  That was a relief.  Now I can pick up my meds at the CVS.
  Yesterday, my brother Steve took his wife, sisters Pam , Brenda , and I to see our sister Barb.  Barb was happy to see us. She was very aware. The nurses were giving her meds , she would sleep and be woke up every  hour. The report was a mini stroke. She will be kept there for another two weeks possibly. She isn't eating, says she feels sick to her stomach. She's in ICU. 
  Last night sister Brenda called and said the hospital didn't want her to have any more visitors , only her husband.  Well gee, wish they had said that at the start. We would not have gone to visit her if it was disturbing her or her testing  in any way. We did not stay in her room longer than 5 minute, only two at a time.  I am hoping to hear news today. Thank you wonderful blog family for your prayers.
   Going to my dentist this afternoon. You all know how I love that .(not)  Enjoy this day . XO

Worry...

  Yesterday morning, started out so pretty . It started out rather nice, no worries. I called to check on my daughter. She is doing well and feeling fine. She didn't once try to clear her throat while talking to me, that is  what she would do  because of the thyroid being enlarged.  Then I called Ted's brother Ray, He was scheduled for a procedure at 2:00.  He had slept 9 hours, felt very rested. So it was time for my day to begin.
   I drove to CVS for my reflux meds. Then was on my way to my dentist office to make an appointment. My cell phone was ringing, most times I never hear it in my purse. So I park and answer it. It's my sister Pam telling me our sister Barb is in the hospital. Barb is our younger sister. She has had a stroke. I just go on home, waiting for word from her husband.
   When I get home, I call my doctor , still no results from my blood work. Make a dentist appointment for Wednesday.  Sister Pam calls , says Barb's stroke was called a mini stroke and no damage.  So thankful .  Pam will spend today with me and we will call Barb.  I am praying for all to be healthy.
  Oh in case you are wondering, I checked on the baby robins. It rained and stormed in the evening.  I tapped  the side of the house and the babies raised their heads. :) Mouths wide open , of course.  Hope things are going smoothly at your house.   XO

Lilacs And Robins....

    This  is my lilac bush. Growing so nicely this year. I brought the starts for this bush from my mom old house when she passed away, almost 9 years ago. Mom had three of the tallest lilacs in her front yard. They were cut down by the new owner last year. Mom used to let people pick bouquets of them all the time.

  As I was on the west side of our house getting these photos , something else caught my eye.

  In the block glass window, a robin had made a nest. Now she has four little babies to feed.

I got a little close for this shot. I did not linger as I saw the mom robin near by. I worry for these little guys. They are exposed to the rain , wind , and sun, where they are nesting. I am wondering why the birds aren't making their nests in the trees. There are so many trees in this area. Once last year, I was walking down our road and saw a nest on the ground by a telephone pole. It was next to the pole and it had 3 blue eggs in it, so I know it was a robin's nest.  Poor planning.
 Up date on my daughter. She is home and doing well. Thankful for all your prayers. Wishing all of you a great Monday. XO

Sister Is Moved...

   My sisters , brother and his wife, and I helped Our sister Jeanie move yesterday.  This is Brenda and Jeanie, they are now neighbor's in the same apartment complex.  Every thing that was moved, every box, after box, and furniture, had to be carried down four steps. Oh my ankles are truly hurting today. I have arthritis in both. So today I am doing well to walk. First thing I thought this morning, it's true no good deed goes unpunished. LOL

Once I got back home , I had to keep moving or be down for the count. So I cleaned around my porch. Cleaned up my hummingbird feeders and hung them out. One would not stop leaking, so into the trash it went.  I will get another this week. I love watching hummingbirds. This little stepping stone was made by one of the men ,who have a booth at the farmer's market, in our town.

Beautiful Spring Days....

   Yesterday and today are perfect spring days. Just absolutely beautiful. Our flowering crabapple is blooming now. I love the color of this blossom.

   The redbud has bloomed. I sure wish it had many more limbs. Look at that sky , just a bit of heaven.

  I have been raking out old mulch still have much work in these flowerbeds here. The water barrels are working now. The lilies growing in front of it.  I am thinking of staining this feature, Ted likes natural weathering. I just want a touch of color.
  I wanted to thank all of you for your prayers for my daughter Karen. She did very well in surgery. She will be coming home today. I will be checking on her.  The thyroid will be biopsied and the results should be in this week. Karen's doctor said she would do fine with the thyroid meds.  I surely  pray she will.
  I am going to go into town soon and help my sister , Jeanie, move her things to her new apartment.....she will be two doors down from our sister Brenda.  They are not married now, Brenda never had children, and Jeanie's are grown and gone. They live simply.  We need less as we age.

Today On Schedule...

 This morning at 5:30, Ted and I were on our way out the door.  Karen the one in red had her surgery this morning. She had to have her thyroid removed.. It was enlarged and had some knots in it. The doctor said it had to come out. She will go on medicine today for the rest of her life .
    Her husband, twin sister, niece, Ted and I were with her during this time. She will get the drainage tube removed tomorrow and be sent home.
   I did feel better after  I spoke  with her doctor. He also removed her twin sister's thyroid years ago. But Liz's thyroid was cancerous. Then later she got breast cancer...had a lumpectomy,  chemo and is now cancer free. I just want my girls healthy.
   Hope all of you are doing well today. Also that the weather is good there, it is here. So pretty, a perfect spring day. XO
