This morning at 5:30, Ted and I were on our way out the door. Karen the one in red had her surgery this morning. She had to have her thyroid removed.. It was enlarged and had some knots in it. The doctor said it had to come out. She will go on medicine today for the rest of her life .
Her husband, twin sister, niece, Ted and I were with her during this time. She will get the drainage tube removed tomorrow and be sent home.
I did feel better after I spoke with her doctor. He also removed her twin sister's thyroid years ago. But Liz's thyroid was cancerous. Then later she got breast cancer...had a lumpectomy, chemo and is now cancer free. I just want my girls healthy.
Hope all of you are doing well today. Also that the weather is good there, it is here. So pretty, a perfect spring day. XO
Susie, I pray that Karen will rest comfortably and begin the healing process. I am thankful that Liz is now cancer free - Praise the Lord. Keeping you all in my heart and prayers. xo
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Mildred. Liz will be having a thyroid cancer scan soon. she has to have them every so often. I always pray that she will always be cancer free. Blessings you and yours, xoxo,Susie
DeletePraying that Karen will recover quickly and walk in health for the rest of her life!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a peaceful, love filled weekend!

DeleteSending my prayers for Karen. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Laura. I hope you are doing well and having good weather. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
DeleteI hope Karen recovers quickly and with no discernible side effects. It is amazing what they can do with medicine today-even when it is long term. God bless your girls AND you! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDiana, That is some things I asked the doctor. He said she's healthy and if she does as he advises, she should be fine. Thank you so much for your good wishes. Blessings to all at your house, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSo glad your daughter is okay, and pray she will heal quickly.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Gert
Thank you Gert. I was relieved once I spoke with Karen's surgeon. He is also the dr. that removed her twin sister Liz's thyroid. He said they do biopsy . He said since she's basically a healthy girl, she should do fine on meds. God is good. xoxo,Susie
DeletePraying that Karen heals quickly and that all tissue is cancer free! Blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteCindy, thank you for your prayers. I will be checking on Karen once she gets home. The biopsy results should be this week. xoxo,Susie
DeleteWhen it rains it pours doesn't it. I am glad they caught her problem before it went into cancer. I hope that she recovers quickly. She will probably feel so much better once she gets the medicine regulated. Hugs to you.
ReplyDeleteDebby, You are so right, when it rains it pours...many times. I pray all the time , yet feel stressed with everything that is happening. I hope your sweet daughter in law is doing well. Blessings to you , xoxo,Susie
DeleteWe all wish good health for our children and when somethings not right it effects us almost as much as it does them! I pray she heals quickly! I know a couple girls who have had their thyroids removed, take the meds and are fine. My daughter is diabetic and I hate it. but thank god there is medicine.. right? have a great weekend my friend!
ReplyDeletexoxo
Viv, My daughter Karen is diabetic and on a pill a day. I was concerned about her taking more meds. I guess some people take many meds to keep going. The biopsy of Karen's thyroid should be coming in this week. I pray it's clear. I would not want her to have to go through any more medical issues. She did fine in the surgery. When I was young, I thought my worries would be over once I raised my daughters up....my goodness how naïve I was then. :) Blessings to you and all your loved ones, xoxo,Susie
DeleteSusie, I'm so sorry to hear about Karen. I do hope she heals nicely. And I'm so sorry to hear about Liz' thyroid also. Oh Susie, you have been through much with your daughters, yet you still have such a beautiful heart.
ReplyDeletelove you,
