Festival Photos...

 Here are the paddle boats. There were only these two, but what fun it seemed. Truly the sweetest spot at the fair for a cooling breeze. I have never been on one of these boats, anywhere. May need to try that.

 Oh he only looks like this , when he doesn't care how he looks...he is gorgeous. This rooster looks like a big beautiful hat. He may have been tame , but I was not going to get any closer, he had spurs.

 Here is a whole pile of sleeping ducks. Yes, I let sleeping ducks lie. Ducks can peck too. Right??

There were plenty of bathroom facilities. So we didn't have to use this one.:):) I thought it probably was not used for some time...as it didn't have an aroma when we were near it. Thank goodness for indoor plumbing. I thought if this outhouse were moved , it would be a neat little tool shed, for rakes, brooms,and shovels.

Amish Acres, Art & craft Festival...

 My daughter Kathy and I, went to amish acres in Nappanee, Indiana for a festival. We went Sunday afternoon. The sky was beautiful, the temperature pleasant ,but I got a sunburn anyway. :)

 This is the only item I bought. It's a scarf that looks like two combined. The lady who owned the booth was Jana Frazee, from Parkville , Mo.  She can be found at www.myfavoriteclothes.com , she is having 10% off on her facebook sales. She had some unusual things.

Here I stand at the fence near the little farm , where they had some animals. There was goats, ducks, chickens and turkeys. The duck had a big falling out, and I almost wet my pants laughing. Do human mimic animals or the other way a round??? We also saw a peacock sitting on a fence.

Here's my Kathy. I told her to stand in the shade for this picture. I know it would have been better in the sun, but I do not like for people to squint. I can't begin to tell you how much we walked. I know we went around the festival about three times. The sweetest breezes were blowing across the pond. There were two swan boats on the pond giving rides. No, we didn't take one.:):) I'll show more pictures tomorrow. xo

Saturday's Shower...

 It was a baby shower...not rain... The shower was held in the church basement. This is Beth sister of the mother to be, Barb, the grandmother, Jessie the "mommy " to be, and that little one is Maggie.  Jessie has another month till Cooper is born. She says she is tired at the end of each day now. Bless her heart.

 This is Jessie showing the little stool we made her for Copper. As you can Maggie was right there. Maggie helped put the gifts on the table for Jessie and also helped unwrap them. So funny. The other young ones were playing piano in the corner.

This is a nice flower pot, that I won...playing those shower games. I had a name for every letter of the alphabet for a boy. It was fun to enjoy the company of  all who came to the shower. Also to see all the cute things for babies. There was one gift that had two pairs of shoes and two bibs , in a clear container...Maggie asked , "aunt Jess are you having twins?" That got a laugh from everyone. xo

Baby Shower Gift....

This is the gift that we made for my niece's baby shower. She and her husband wanted to name the baby differently than any other family member's name. I don't know why they couldn't  name it Susie even if it is a boy. LOL  I like the name Cooper though.
  We have a friend who owns one of those computerized routering tables. So we had him put the glove, ball and name on for us. Ted made the stool and I did the finish.  Cooper can get on it to brush his teeth , watch TV, and steal cookies , as he grows. I know our niece will love it.
  Today is a nice low humidity day, with some rain forecasted for later. I sure hope we get some rain soon and more than just 1/4 inch.  Hope you all enjoy the weekend. xo

Left Over Flower Shots...

 This is one of the flowerbed I made from our sidewalk dirt. The only plants are petunias, pachysandra, and a hydrangea. I'll thinking of something to plant here that will return yearly. I did the petunias for color.

 Here is one of my mums blooming , along side the black eyed susans and a pot of violas. I try to dead head plants every day or so.  Actually this mum color is one of my favorite colors.

The honeysuckle is still growing and blooming. The hummingbirds love it. I planted a blue morning glory , it's growing up a cable on a telephone pole. It needs to slow down...may have to snip it before it continues up onto the phone lines. I'll get a picture soon. Hope everyone has a good day today. Let's keep our friends and loved ones in our thoughts...but let's not forget people we don't know ,that still need a a prayer or hug. xo

While We Were Out...

 This is the cute pond that my uncle built in his backyard. I really like the sound of flowing water in ponds. Plus the big wind chimes that aunt Sherry loves and my uncle doesn't. :)

While we were sitting around at our aunt and uncle's yard, a butterfly landed on my sister and stayed the longest time.She said he was checking the time:):) I told her she must have tasted good for that butterfly to stay so long.
   Thanks to all of you who offered prayers for our uncle. We all need prayer, some times we need prayer groups. I pray about all day. Little prayers for people as they cross my mind. Prayers for my children and grandchildren always.
  This morning we had a small rain. It'll help. I hope we get a bit more , this coming Friday and Saturday, as the weatherman is forecasting. It's hump day and I feel wore out already. Take care and have some fun today. xo

Sisters And I.....

Here are my sisters , uncle Bill ,and I . I am the tall one . LOL Since my sister Barb is sitting down, I am taller. Our uncle weighs 145 pounds. He doesn't have much of an appetite.
   Aunt Sherry told me what happened during uncle Bill's surgery. He's been having some stomach problems,been to many doctors. One dr. decides he will help with a laparoscopic surgery.  While they were doing surgery, they found a ligament was growing around the aorta near the stomach. The doctor was doing one last snip on the ligament and mistakenly ,snipped the aorta. Can you even imagine.?
 Aunt Sherry and her son Bret were waiting for a 2 hour surgery and it was going on and on. By the grace of God, there was a wonderful vascular surgeon at the hospital at that time. He came to uncle Bill's rescue. Thus saving his life.
  The doctors have told Bill his stomach is bruised from all the handling to clean up the blood. He had 26 units, that day. Another blessing, the hospital had his type. Bill says food doesn't taste good, so he only eats small portions. Aunt Sherry keeps trying new ways to slip in the protein he really needs. His appetite will return .
  I looked at my aunt and uncle yesterday, saw their love for each other. I am so thankful they can always count on each other. God has blessed them with this time in life. Their lifes  have been very uneventful till this past year. We all better tell our loved ones just how much they mean to us...we never know how many days there will be in our own lifes. xoxo
