Brunch...

Thirteen of us showed up today for brunch.   It was fun. Some times it's almost too many. Can talk to everyone. We should change chairs every so often.
Some will be heading out to Florida and warmer places to get thru the Jan. and Feb. months of winter.  One of our Classmates is our town mayor. He's had a big surgery and still in the hospital. One of the ladies passed a card around for all of us to sign, wishing him well. One lady's brother passed away last night.  So much sadness .
We all caught up on our families and our winter plans. We won't be having another gathering until winter is over.  This one was a bit of a fluke, as two ladies returned to town for the holidays.
Our friend Shelia who lost her husband this past Spring will be moving back to Tipton. She wants to be near to her family. She lost many friends thru the years while living in Florida . Her neighbor is her church pastor and he is retiring and moving from the area. I think this is the main reason she decided to move back home. We welcome her.
Today is gray and windy. Still warm, in the fifties.  Wishing all a great day. XO

    1. Laurie, I think I owe you an apology..I think I mixed you up with another follower by the same name and spelling. Glad you drop by. Yes, Shelia that is moving back to town used to be my next door neighbor. It will be good seeing her more. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  2. What a great bunch of bff's Susie. How sweet you can get together to enjoy Brunch and catch up. Life is so short so this is a great thing you all do. Yep this weather we are having is like Spring rather than winter. They are saying it will drop this afternoon for us into the 40's which is normal for this time of year. Yesterday it was 68 here. Crazy!!! Have a great Monday and good week ahead.

    1. Kris, You are so right about quickly our lives can go by. It broke my heart to hear of my friend Vickie's brother passing. he was a good man. Actually he was one of our city firefighters...for many years.
Today is gray and chilly ...because of the rain and wind. I just am hoping no snow till after the holidays...so we can all get together more. Blessings to you and your loved ones, xoxo,Susie

  3. Hi Susie. Looks like a fun group. So many of my friends have moved south. Now my sister in law and her husband are following their son to Florida. My best friend lost her husband yesterday. So sad. She is in Florida and I just can't hop on a plane. That makes me sad that I can't be there for her. Her immediate family is there. And I Will go if she asks me too. We do need to count our blessings, Hugs

    1. Patty, It was a bit tough a couple times today. Shelia is just not doing well...since her husband passed this spring...she cried a couple times. Of course I cried when Vickie said her brother passed. I remember him from when we were all in school. Blessings to you and yours for a great Christmas. Hope you get to be with all your loved ones. xoxo,Susie

  6. How nice that you all got together before those friends leave for Floria. It was always a little hard on our kids when my parents would spend a few months of the year in Florida.

    1. Judy, I once thought of buying a place to retire to in Florida...then the more I thought of it.. I just could not leave my daughters and their families for that long. You know it's not like I get to be around them so much either...but it's knowing I am near that counts most times. I guess. I am very close to my girls and we all love each other and get along great. I would miss that so much. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. Rachel d , Glad you enjoy living in Indiana. I guess I am one of those people who grew where she was planted. Having family and friends nearby makes it hard to even consider moving ever. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

    1. As we age, we have lost our parents...most of us. That was the hard part of aging. Some of us ladies grew up in the same neighborhood...so we knew each other's families. In a small town...you can become one big family, almost. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  11. Susie, I really like how you get together with your classmates every now and then. How fun, and they look like a lively bunch. That's great that one of the friends is the town Mayor. That was sweet that you all signed a card for him to wish him well.

I hope you enjoy these last two weeks before Christmas, my friend. I'm trying to focus on the real meaning right now. Wanted to go out and spread some cheer, but I pulled a muscle in my leg and can't walk too good right now. :(

    1. Linda, You just had abig party for about a hundred ladies...lOL. I wish I even knew that many people any more. Funny how we lose touch. That is one reason we all high school class mates have our once a month brunch gathering. It's fun if certain ones don't go all political..ewwee..I'd rather talk shoe shopping and I don't even buy them like I used too. Blessings, love you, Susie
