Cloudy, Then A Sunset....

This past Wednesday was cloudy and chilly.....you know more like December. LOL.  But around  4:30 pm, the clouds split and the sun shines.
We have been trying to keep the bird feeders full. Some very hungry little creatures around here.
There is the last glow of the sun setting in the horizon.  I do not get many sun rises around here for the woods on both sides of our road in the east.
As the sun set, the clouds dispersed and those left behind turned pink. As you can tell , no much going on around here. Ho hum.  You know that's partly because I not longer shop for Christmas gifts.
I usually give each family money. I will buy the two great grandbabies a gift. You know that's easy peasy.  I will pick up those two gifts when we go to pick up our Christmas ham.  My daughters are all meeting up today to do some shopping together....but mostly to just have some holiday time together. I was invited to lunch with them, but declined.
My ankles are so painful from my arthritis this week.  Possibly from standing for an hour in line at the funeral home. We said our good byes to a friend of many years. So I have had painful ankles since then. Takes me a while to spring back.
Wishing all a great weekend. XO

  2. I'm sorry you are in such pain. I hope it eases today and you can get around. We don't buy many gifts, mostly books and handmade items. I'm glad we don't get into the craziness in the stores. Enjoy your weekend! Hugs, Diane

    1. Diane, I never dreamed I would have such arthritis...I do not take meds for it other than a tylonel or two. I know too much walking standing or different shoes...can make me have more pain. So I'll have to take it easy for a few days. I say with your good feet and ankles...it is so good that you and your sweetie can take hikes. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  9. Bless your heart! Uncle Arthur is NOT nice, is he???
I am giving some gift cards this year. My first time. My oldest three grands are SO hard to buy for - and I can't remmeber a time in recent years when I 'got it right!' This year I am making Texas Trash - which everyone loves and giving each of them a big container of it!! Plus a family gift card to their favorite restaurant. We'll see if THIS counts as a winner!!!

    1. lInda, I think the kids will love the gift cards. The kids always give Ted and I restaurant gift cards and we eat off them all year. We can always get in the glove box and get a card and pop into Red Lobster , Steak/Shake, , Bob Evans or Cracker barrel. Always fun. It's too hard to remember sizes, colors choices, or brands and everything else....so it's money for all of them. I tell them , this is gift money, not gas money or bill money...it's to buy something you want. LOL. My ankles are better already , just by not doing so much standing or walking. Blessings to you, love you, Susie

  11. Sorry your ankles are bothering you, Susie. I pulled a muscle in my knee area and it is taking awhile to heal also. Your sunsets are so pretty. That's too bad that you don't get to see the sunrises that much. How fun that all your daughters will be shopping together today. I'm sure they wanted good 'ole mom to go along with them. :)

    Merry Christmas, dear Susie.
