Shoveling Snow....

We had snow come in the wee hours of Wednesday.  Ted swept to get the newspaper.
Later I started shoveling to take the mail to the box. I do my shoveling in shifts. We had about 2 1/2 inches of snow. All light as air and fluffy.
Shoveled to the shop. Then shoveled that driveway. Put the trash can back after the pick up.
Once the sun came out after I shoveled...the driveways dired nicely.
It was nice to have sunshine. That just makes me smile.
This is how it looked this morning. So pretty and the trees were all frosty.
Wow, I just love seeing these pink skies.
Here's frost on the pines. This just makes me in awe of the beauty of nature.
The little woods in back was all white.
The birds have been stomping the snow down ...under the feeders. Got to keep them feed when there's snow on everything.  They can't find enough to eat.
Ted had an eye doctor appointment and I had a dentist appointment.  What a morning.  I got prepped for a new crown , I am not talking the Queen's either.  Ted got his eye dilated. We were tired when we got home.  Both of us are glad those appointments are over .
Wishing all of you a good day. If you may be in the storm path, be safe. XO

  1. Pretty pictures especially that pink sky- that's gorgeous! We've been getting snow steadily for a couple of weeks and seem to be making up time for not getting it for s long. The bird tracks are cute- probably morning doves. Hubby had his eyes checked yesterday- a cataract started. I hate going to the dentist- besides going through what you have to go through the expense is enough to make you run out the door (especially when you don't have dental insurance). Your land is real flat- nice to see a long way in the distance. We have hills everywhere here. Love seeing the pines covered with snow- so pretty!

    1. Liz, I am hoping the new storm coming thru misses us as the weatherman is saying...but oh I will be praying for everyone in it's path...too scary.Ted's eye dr. said he had the start of a cataract also....he said when you get a certain age it's just one of the things that happens. Oh yes, my dentist is not bashful about billing. I have insurance too.You know Liz, this morning with the frost on the trees, that is one of the beautiful things of winter. Blessings, be safe. xoxo, Susie

  2. Beautiful to look at, but a pain to be in, I'm sure! Snow - I love how it looks on your pines. And I know what you mean about being glad appointments are over. It's like it hangs over your spirit until the appointment is over and you can just sink back and relax.

    1. Oh my gilr, I am not a snow lover...never have been. When I was young, we had not gloves or boots and now I just am too old to play in it. LOL Take about being keyed up.. I was so tense in the dentist chair..I almost went to sleep when it was over from being able to just let my breath out and relax. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Laurie, I am a big chicken also..it's a wonder I don't lay an egg right there in the dentist chair. But I certainly was relieved when it was over for this time. In 3 weeks I go back. the weatherman said the storm may skirt south of us.. I hope so. But please pray for those in it's path...it's the risk of ice, that's scary. Blessings to you and Garry, xoxo, Susie

  9. I don't mind when the snow is fluffy---easy. When it's 10 degrees and fluffy---not so much!

I'm sorry to hear that you and your guy had these appointments. Good in the long run but not something to look forward to. I bet you are relieved they are over (hopefully). :)

    1. Blondie, The super bitter cold makes my fingers hurt. I have arthritis in my ankles and fingers...probably from my old job. Ted and I rested once we got home. He could not be out in the brightness what with having his eyes dilated. I was exhausted from the stress of the dental chair. I have a temp crown and will get the permanent one in Feb. I am praying this is the last dental work for a long time. :) Blessings to you and yours, be safe if you go out. xoxo,Susie

My condolences on your crown. Dental visits are my all time LEAST favorite thing to do! I used to have to have a sedative for a routine checkup!!
Hope you and Ted stayed inside and warm and cozy when y'all got home!

    1. Wanda, You have so many things to see and do there in your state...if you want snow you can visit the mountains. I am a very cautious person when I shovel...I push the snow and I take breaks often. If the snows are heavy/wet...I leave it. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo,Susie

  15. Susie, I've never seen such glorious pink skies before. These pics should be in a magazine. wow, that is a lot of shoveling that you and Ted have to do in the driveway. What a cute picture of the bird's foot prints in the snow.

Stay warm this weekend, Susie, and bundle up. It looks cold there.
