Saying Goodbye....

Yesterday my granddaughter,Sierra , had to catch her flight back to Florida. It's been nice to see her home. I went to spend a bit more time with her yesterday.  She's a strong girl, who tries to stay up beat about life.
Grandson ,Korey, and his sweet wife Ashley will be catching their flight back to Utah, today (Fri)  They were on the go most of the week in Indiana. Going to all her family's  and then coming down to see us for a visit. From our house to Korey's father's....then back up north to his mother's (my daughter Kathy) It is wonderful to see them , and sad when they leave. They snapchat lots. and face time with Kathy.
This is the sunrise of Thursday morning.  Off in the distance between the grouping of trees and the stand of three is our town of Tipton. It was a beautiful morning turning colder with snow squalls in the late afternoon.
I love the colors in the clouds, with a promise of a gorgeous day.
Well it did get pretty with blue skies and sunshine. Here's the old one room school house , not far from our house.  I took pictures on my way home from Angie's.
I have been watching this old house on the corner 1 1/2 miles from us.  It is leaning more and more. The roof has caved in on the south side, the back of the house has collapsed.
Hanging on among it's dying scraggly trees.  I drove slowly by to get these pictures. :) Looking at this house as it fades into time....makes me feel sad.
I have to change to a happy note here. My daughter Kathy gave me this little plaque as a part of my Christmas gift. It's reads, " I often daydream that my life is just as it is now...Only I have well behaved hair  & I live in Paris."  LOL    I laughed and read it out loud for everyone. There's a wee patch of white under the tower that says"it is not uncommon for her to dream in perfect French." So funny and cute. I love it and hung it in the bathroom. :)
We have blue skies and sunshine again. Oh I am loving this for winter. Wishing all of you a great Friday. XO

  4. I recognize the artist who makes those plaques but can't remember her name and I have bought cards by her and never sent them because they are so clever. I always love your sunrises and family news. Don't be sad now, go to Horton's.

  8. So nice that you got to spend time with the grands. It's always sad to leave family or have them leave us. So many families, mine included, are spread out all over the place these days. I hope the memories and good times you had with them will help a bit.

Just a few more days until the new year. I hope 2017 is a wonderful year for you.

and, like you, when I see olden houses such as this, I wonder about all the life that went on in those rooms...and then, I stop and see if there's pretty door knobs I'd love or a window that perhaps has dropped out and would look super on my wall...of course, you might get shot for trespassing...LOL Happy New Year, dear sister friend. xo

    1. BJ, Thank you for your kind compliment. I miss the kids already. It was so nice to have time with them. Technology helps us stay in touch easier now. My husband says he is going to get that round fret work for the side of the old house. LOL. I just want a board to make a frame for a picture of the old house. I would be more afraid of the poison ivy around that old p[lace. :) Blessings to you and yours for a great new year. xoxo, Susie

  16. Susie, doesn't it start to snow a lot there during the winter months? It sure is getting colder here - January is probably our coldest month. It was nice for you to see all the grandkids even though they are traveling back home now. I love that plaque in your bathroom, it's so cute. Oh my goodness, you can tell that old house is leaning more and more every time I see it. I know it will be sad for you when it falls down completely, as you've been watching this little house for a long time. Please keep us updated on it, as I'm so curious what will happen to it.

    Happy New Year, Susie!

  18. I loved seeing your beautiful grands! You look too young to have grown grandchildren!
Watching that house fall has got to be so melancholy! I feel sad when I see one too. When we were driving back and forth to Houston there was a house right behind a McDonalds that was like the one you watch. Every trip we would stop for a break and look.
    Love you!
