Putting Things Away....
I took my time getting the last of the Christmas put away....whew...it's done. Had to go to the stores and buy groceries and laundry detergent. We are done with that for a while. Ran into the neighbor lady at the store , talked for a bit...I do not like to stand around talking in the stores. I like to get what I need and get out. But I can't be rude, so I talk a bit. Then saw daughter Angie getting some healthy foods to start their year off right. Had to have hugs then. :):):) She had just come from her Zumba class. Keeps herself in great shape.
Hope everyone is getting a good start to their new year. I am trying to get a jump on birthdays now. Some coming up this month. Wishing everyone well. XO

I worked on getting decorations put away today and cleaning! WHEW! What a way to start the year. You have some fun ahead of you with the gift cards! WOW! Happy new year sweet friend. Hugs, DianeReplyDelete
Diane, Ted and I laugh about getting to just out and eat...we will say "Thank you, one of the kid's name's " for lunch today. Hope you got your things put away. I just felt great getting that done. :) Blessings to you dear friend, hope your new year is starting well. xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie, as always I truly love reading your blog- just like visiting a dear friend! You are so ambitious getting all your stuff put away already!!! I hate getting the tree and lights put away for another year😒 I do however, have a lot if snowmen on my mantle that I could leave for a month or two..lol Then I could leave my clear lights as well!! Well, enjoy those wonderful gift cards, their the perfect gift for us (of a certain age!)😀ReplyDelete
Gert, I think decorating can be fun...but seem to drag my feet on taking it all down. At least we clean as we go, that helps. Ted and I got a couple Red Lobster gift cards...I know you and Tom loved going there together. I will usually leave snowmen décor out...but this year I put it all away. I am thinking of buying a small bouquet of flowers each week till spring....which is only 77 days from now. :):) Blessings to you sweet friend, stay safe , xoxo, SusieDelete
Putting away Christmas decorations just about did me in! I am not that elaborate with mine either, so can't imagine the time and energy for those who are more so. What a great bunch of gifts you got. How nice it must be to run into a family member at the grocery store. Hugs would definitely be in order. Happy New Year to you.ReplyDelete
Nonnie, It is more of a chore to decorated and take down than most will admit. LOL. I am glad to have it done . I only decorate for seasons and Christmas. I may do a table scape at other holidays. I have been laughing with my daughter about turkey sandwiches. So she told me she was buying sliced turkey also. Thank you for the new year wishes. Blessings to you, hope your year is starting well. xoxo, SusieDelete
You made out like a bandit with all those gift cards! Those are easy to store right in your wallet and take up a tiny amount of space!ReplyDelete
We are in the throes of taking Christmas down. It feels like a spring day here with the doors all open and the birds singing. I can hear my neighbors next door ( you remember Stephanie!) as they are watching football and grilling in their back yard. They invited us over and we will clean up and walk over in a little while. They have a fire pit and are burning some really nice piñon wood. We are going to the camper in the morning and I'm looking forward to it. Right now I'm in the gazebo resting with my feet up and catching up on your blog posts! Wishing you a wonderful 2017! Love and prayers always!
Linda, We have had mild temperatures here ..like mid 40's. For winter that is sweet and I love it. Last night we had a thunder shower. Foggy this morning. The past year and into this one has been foggy. I never remember foggy days like we had last year.(2016) That sounds like fun with your neighbors. :):) I hope we can all get our feet rested. :):) Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I love gift cards, Susie. The kids usually get me Starbucks gift cards and my plan is to give up Starbucks when I use up my last gift card this year...we'll see how that works. lolReplyDelete
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas and good for your daughter for living a healthy lifestyle.
Have a blessed New Year week! xo Diana
Diana, I know it sounds crazy...but I love getting Wal-Mart cards...they have everything in those stores. Ted and I will just put the cards in his truck and get one out when we want to eat out. Funny how when people get old ...but hey I'll take gift cards over old smelly perfumes and house slippers. LOL. My daughter's son Jake is finally taking an interest about eating healthier also. Makes me happy. Blessings to all there, xoxo, love , SusieDelete

ooops, that was just me typing too fast and misspelled something hehehe.Delete
How funny that you saw Angie at the same time you were shopping for groceries. wow, you got a lot of gift cards. I did get one gift card (Starbucks) from my son, and it was one of my favorite presents. :) I bet it felt good getting the last of the Christmas stuff put away. I did that as well. Now you can rest for awhile and enjoy the new year.ReplyDelete
Here's to a good one, Susie!
Sheri, I usually see my sisters at the grocery. It's our biggest grocery store in this little town..so everyone shops there. There's a Starbucks in the next town and Ted has a card for it...we better use it soon. It is fun to have the dining cards handy. Hope your new year is starting well fro you. It's been pleasant temperatures here. Mid Forties. that is nice for winter. Snow is being predicted later this coming week. Stay safe. Blessings to you honey. xoxo, love, SusieDelete
That's quite the haul of gift cards!! Good for you getting Christmas put away. What's next? Valentine's Day? -JennReplyDelete
Hi Jenn, I may do a small table scape for Valentine's day. I don't go all out for other holidays. I am happy to have my stuff put up for another year. :) Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, SusieDelete
My Christmas is coming down slowly. Snowflakes and snowmen are for January. What a lot of gift cards you got. That's always a favorite gift for me. We got three of them.ReplyDelete
Hi Kathy, I usually leave my snowmen out for another month...but this year I just put it all away. I might do a Valentine's day table scape late this month. Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo, SusieDelete
I guess we are all taking down and putting away... Love gift cards. I see you have one for Red Lobster, we got one of those this year.ReplyDelete
Spent the day with our daughter since all her guys were at the Rose Bowl game. A good way to start the year. And the team we were rooting for won...in the last seconds of the game. That was fun.
Ted and I got 80 dollars worth of Red Lobster cards. We like eating there.. Sounds like a fun time with your daughter. I know you loved it. I will take any time with my girls. and their families. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
At least they bought you stuff you can use! I bet you can go shopping with the Cracker Barrel cards. They have some cute clothes! Happy New Year!ReplyDelete
I like the shopping at cracker barrel better than eating there...it's too noisy most times. I love kids but do not like to eat by them....especially the screamers. Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
How nice that you received all those gift cards. You will definitely eat well for a while LOL Enjoy the upcoming birthday celebrations. I love cake and ice cream:)ReplyDelete
Karen, I am going to have to cut back on cakes and ice creams. So sad. Ted and I usually eat with the gift cards thru the whole year. It's nice to not have to worry about money then. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Wow! Look at all those gift cards, heck you did not need groceries, looks like you can eat out for a month! How nice of your family and friends.ReplyDelete
Ann, I know ...why buy groceries when we could be eating out. :):) I could probably eat at Bob Evans everyday. They have things that are like home cooked. I hope you enjoyed your holidays and are back to feeling brand new. We are enjoying the milder weather...shh. I know winter is going to get us...but I want to get out on these good days....foggy today. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
You received a lot of awesome gift cards! I took my decorations down on Friday. I miss my tree lol. I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed New Year Susie!ReplyDelete
Pilar...I think the gift cards mean we are old. LOL...I am glad the children do not buy us perfumes and slippers...scents are a private thing to me and how many pairs of slippers does one need? hehe. I felt like our living room seemed naked without the tree.:) Hope your year is starting off perfectly. Blessings to you honey, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie and Happy New Year to you! Wow, what a haul of gift cards you've received! You beat me getting all of your Christmas put away. I've been working for a couple of days. My Christmasing is up but my house is nekked and I need to clean. I think I need a break too!ReplyDelete
be a sweetie,
Hi Shelia, It does seem rather bare in the living room...that's where I decorated the most. I feel good about having it done. Maybe next week I will get out to eat on one of our dining cards. Stay safe and warm this winter. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
WOW that is A LOT of gift cards, very nice!ReplyDelete
Happy New Year! Now it's time to clean out closets and such!
Deb, So true. I truly need to sort everything here. Papers and go thru the file cabinets and shred and toss. Make bags for Goodwill too. Blessings to you, hope everyone is doing well. xoxo, SusieDelete
well, you certainly wont go hungry! lol! I like gift cards.. they always come in handy. I didnt get any gift cards this year though. but, lol, my hubby got a couple hundred dollars in home depot gift cards! I wonder what project he'll do with them? I did get lots of great gifts though. My kids know their mommy well! lol! we are blessed!ReplyDelete
Have a great day and a Happy New Year my friend!
Viv, I laugh about the amount of cards we get. We do eat out with them thru the whole year. Ted loves get Lowe's and Menards cards. :):) I got some lovely gifts ...not just food cards. :) I do not need anything...other than a vacation some place warm. Know what I mean?? Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, SusieDelete
Looks like your grocery bill will be considerably less after Christmas. LOL I love getting gift cards. This year I received an Amazon gift card - always a treat! I'm finally putting things away except for the tree with lights only. I can't bear to part with it yet. Have a wonderful week, Susie! You're right: Mr. C. and son do look alike. :-))ReplyDelete
Judy, I wish all those places to eat were here in our town...then I would eat out all week. LOL...I kept our tree up 2 days after I put all the other things away. I wanted to enjoy it longer. I am hoping we do not have a harsh winter or a longer one than usual. Blessings to you, stay warm there. xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie, Loved catching up; looks like you got a card load of gift cards-makes meals so easy. We took down all of our decorations on Monday and I have to say this was the first year I didn't want to take them down. However, I did leave some quilted wall hangings up that are more wintery than Christmas.ReplyDelete
Hope your week is fantastic.
Hi Noreen, I usually leave my snowmen decorations out longer...but this year I put them away. The porch is ready for some spring decorating....in 76 days. of course. LOL. You sure showed a big snow there. I do like to put a few Valentine things in the tablescape. That's not so far away. Blessings, stay warm there. xoxo, SusieDelete
Wow you are going to be dining well with all your gift cards. That is so sweet that the kids treat you to these different places for a wonderful meal out. Happy New Year. I know you are probably as cold as we are. Is it summer yet? Yikes I cannot wait for January and February to be over and Spring hopefully to arrive early for us here in the midwest.ReplyDelete
Happy New Year.
Kris, Today was bitter cold and it's getting nasty tonight...I am already for Spring. And this was a mild winter so far..2015 Nov. 21, we had 6 inches of snow...we have not had that much total yet this winter. I hope it's stays mild..it can snow an inch or two and then melt. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh fun! I could go for the gift cards. I like. My daughter gave me a couple of books and a CD that I wanted and my son and his wife gave me a shirt that I love and a wall hanging about Georgia. It was great!ReplyDelete
Bonnie, It's fun to get gifts were need or appreciate. I am thankful for dining cards, rather than old lady colognes and slippers. LOL. I like getting unusual gifts also. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie. Putting everything away is the hard part. Seems like we just brought it out! I'm still staggering around boxes. You got some great gifts. I think it is always nice to get gift cards for restaurants or coffee shops. We get and give a few Starbucks cards. I'm with you about grocery shopping, it is bad enough to have to do it let alone spending more time there than you have to..Happy New Year..JudyReplyDelete
Judy, I think that is exactly why I was kind of dragging my feet putting things away...because it seemed we just decorated. I did leave our tree up 2 extra days. I am ready to get on into this year. I want to look at seed catalogs. Doesn't that sound fun? I loved the way your home looked this year. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
We love getting gift cards for every birthday, mother and father's day and Christmas! I don't have to cook! It gets harder as the Grandchildren grow up to buy for them and they love gift cards so they can get what they want.ReplyDelete
