It's been a busy crazy sort of two weeks since this new year started. My daughters were wanting to come celebrate my birthday , but the bad weather did not allow it. Three of my daughters and I have winter birthdays . We talked about getting together in summer nearer to Kathy's birthday and all of us celebrating then. The girls have ran with this idea. They have booked a house in Michigan near the lake for a long weekend , so we can all be together..:) I love the idea of a nice vacation with my daughters. Some thing to anticipate. Yippee.
Prayers for all in the landslide areas, the ice storm areas too. Please be safe. XO

Thank you so much Pilar. We are happy brother is headed home soon. It's amazing what can be done to help a person live a better life. Bless you honey, xoxo, SusieDelete
Sounds like your birthday was a happy one, with prospect of another great celebration already in the plans---what a fabulous idea, just you ladies to get together for some girl time.ReplyDelete
We missed almost all the predicted ice and anything, and this 48 today is vaguely weird after the dire weather we were warned of. So grateful for clear roads and unsnowed cars!
Stay warm and well,
Rachel, I am thrilled that the ice we received was not worse. It's so scary. I am loving the idea of my daughters and I having a mini vacation this summer at the lake. :) Yes, honey, let's stay warm. Only 63 more days till spring, hooray. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Happy Birthday to one of my favorite blog sisters! Too bad the girls couldn't get together for your birthday, but a retreat at the lake this summer sounds fantastic! So happy to see your brother sitting up and doing well. Susie, I just wanted to tell you that I think it's so nice that you pray and think of others in the different states and countries (the harsh weather, hurricanes, floods, drought). It shows what a thoughtful person you are, and this California girl appreciates each and every time you pray for our state.ReplyDelete
love you, Susie.
Sheri, I feel we need to pray for everyone in need or danger. I know there is great power in prayer...that is why I am so thankful when my blog family sends prayers for my kin. Thank you for the birthday wishes. Ted and I ate out today at Red Lobster...nice to be out of the house. We did not get all the ice that was predicted...but the fog is as think as being in London. :):) Blessings to you sweetie, xoxo, love, SusieDelete
Your kitchen table is so bright and cheerful. I wish you a belated birthday. I think the summer celebration is a great idea. Thankful your brother is recuperating from his surgery. Have a nice week. (We got a few minutes of SUN here around lunch time today!!ReplyDelete
Thank you Karen for the birthday wishes. I am getting in the sun when I see it. Just a wee bit yesterday. Foggy here today. It will be spring before we know it. Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
Dear Susie, Happy Belated Birthday! So thankful your brother had a successful surgery and will be home soon. Your weekend with your daughters sounds wonderful. Hope you have a great week.ReplyDelete
Thank you Noreen. I am so excited about a mini vacation with my daughters. Oh yes, thrilled my brother's doing well and able to go home. So happy for him and his family. Blessing, stay warm, xoxo, SusieDelete
Happy, Happy Belated Birthday, Susie!!! You are NOT older than dirt---lolReplyDelete
I am so glad your brother's surgery was successful and that he is going home. The recovery pain from heart surgery is a doozy and pressing against that pillow to cough helps (a bit). It is good he will go home soon. Thank God for good surgeons and medical teams. They really make the difference between life and death a lot of times. xo Diana
Diana, I am very happy about my brother's surgery going so well. He is ready for his own bed...he said. Thanks for the birthday wishes. We did get out today for lunch. That was nice. Foggy as old London town right now. Blessings, hope John is good. xoxo, SusieDelete
Happy Belated Birthday. Hope you had a nice one in spite of the bad weather. I've had you all on my mind alot since this storm came in. Glad it wasn't any worse. It's good to hear your brother is doing so well. My brother had this done in 2012. Doctors do wonders now days. Stay safe and warm and let's hope Spring comes in early.. Hugs, xoReplyDelete
Susie, I was on the hone a lot, everyone calling or texting. Everyone of my grandkids called or texted me, my daughters and sisters too. I am glad the weather a bit better..but then the fog is tricky at times. I am glad to hear your brother is doing well , and mine also. My big brother may have had a drink on his anniversary..but he never drank or smoked...we just have heart problems that run in our family.I guess. it will be spring in about 2 months. :) Blessings, love xoxo, SusieDelete
Wonderful news about your brother! We went through that with our mother back in the '80s.ReplyDelete
Lovely sunrise picture. I can't wait to take more of those soon.
Ooo I forgot to mention that I would love to see pictures of one of the Great Lakes. Should be spectacular!ReplyDelete
Boston Boy, Our mother had her heart surgery in the late 80's . Three brothers now have had this. I am so glad there's good heart drs. out there. I will take my camera to the lake and get some photos. Hope you are doing well since retiring. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What a wonderful idea to switch the celebration to summer. Shouldn't be any ice then!ReplyDelete
Vee, A b-day celebration at the lake sounds very good to me. Plus the house is in a antique shopping area...fun time. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Happy Birthday sweet friend! I didn't realize our birthdays were so close...mine is later this week. I always envied my cousin for having a summer birthday...and outside birthday party. Sounds like you got some special gifts and cards! And older than dirt? I don't think so! (of course I'm probably older than you! heehee!) Hugs, DianeReplyDelete
Diane, I know you can run rings around me. LOL I miss walking like you do every week. Keep moving sweet friend...you'll stay healthier.:):) I like the idea of us all getting together for a summer birthday mini vacation. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Happy Birthday Susie! You can't be all that old because you look so young and pretty. The summer trip to the lake will be so nice to look forward to!ReplyDelete
Glad to hear your brother is doing well and getting discharged soon.
We didn't get the ice they were forecasting for my area, I'm so happy about that.
Take care and have a nice week!
Cheryl, I am thankful that our area had just glazes of ice not the power line breaking kind. All the trees in the ice storm ,sad. The wrecks...there's no way I would try to drive in that. Glad you didn't get that ice . I am now looking forward to our summer birthday gathering. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Happy Birthday sweet friend. Oh that uniting and enjoying your birthdays in Michigan sounds pretty fabulous. How enjoyable that will be. Have a great new week ahead. Enjoy your special day.ReplyDelete
Kris, I will take my camera to the lake...to get lots of pictures of the little town . Can you believe how fast Jan. is going by. Hope you had some warm up weather. This weekend is to be in the 60's. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What fun! I love Michigan and I think it's a great idea for you all to do together. You should try to turn this into a tradition! What part of Michigan?ReplyDelete
Cindy, My daughter Kathy live about 3 miles from the Michigan line....she goes on little trips for fun to shops up there. She booked a house in New Buffalo. I just think it will be more fun that we can all be together. I love how the women in your family will unite to go shopping or just take an adventure together. Cindy, I hope we do not get too much rain..I always worry about floods. :( Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
I'm getting ready to post picture of our pond, that got flooded, during all of this rain! But I'd rather have that, than snow. Except that I don't want people's homes to flood. Hey, if you like to gamble at all (I do, a little bit, but not a lot-money is too hard to come by!) in New Buffalo is a casino called Four Winds. I bet you would all have fun together there! I love all of the little shops in Michigan. I've never been to the ones in New Buffalo, but I have in Saugatuck, South Haven, Douglas (very small but such nice people), Suttons Bay, Traverse City (wineries), Petoskey, Mackinac...we've taken two vacations where we went all the way to the top! Hope your birthday was happy, even though you couldn't all get together. My Dad wants to change his to the summer too!
Cindy, I bet my daughter Kathy knows all those towns..she goes into Michigan lots. I have been to 4 winds on the bus out of Lafayette..it picks people up at the Kokomo Wal-Mart. My daughter said their was a casino close...I just didn't know it was 4 winds. On gambling...our motto is never take more than you can afford to lose. LOL Bless you, xoxo, SusieDelete
