Got Fries......

My daughter Liz sent this to me and said, every time she is around her sweet grandson Luke, she gets a craving for fries. LOL
This big boy is 6 months old now. He's a happy little fellow.
Now look , he's sticking his tongue out at his mommy.  Look at those chubby thighs.
Big brother Max got to sit out by his jack -o- lantern.  Such funny boys.  He's holding the stem to prove it's his pumpkin I guess.  Seeing pictures of my great grandsons makes me smile.
My tooth has calmed down and not hurting at this moment...so I am taking care not to get it hurting....brushed my teeth so gently today and last night.  Thanks for everyone's kind words and understanding.  I hoping I can hold out till the 6th . :):)
Today it's been very cold and wet. We started a fire in the fireplace and it's still burning.   Ted got the big wood box back upon the back deck. Makes bringing in firewood so much easier.  I think it's time for the small box by the fireplace. Time to put the fans in the basement. The little space heater...we had used to take the chill off in the mornings.  Really seems winter is coming now. Actually makes me sad. I will miss sitting outside, watering plants, picking peppers and tomatoes.  I better get into a winter mind set. LOL
Wishing all a great weekend. XO

  1. Oh your little Luke is soooooooo much cuter than the burger boy. But I do see the hair resemblance and the big smile. Max has a pretty big smile going on, too. I can see why these kids make you smile. I'm so sorry about your tooth pain. It is amazing how having a problem with teeth can have such deep effects on us. It sounds cozy where you are with cold and wet, but after reading all you will be missing, I sure can understand why you get sad when summer is over. Maybe winter won't be too bad. We really need a cold winter here.

    1. Nonnie, The boys are usually always smiling. Luke will just lie quietly while Max talks or "reads" to him. It's adorable. When I saw the big frost yesterday morning, I told Ted hope that killed lots of bugs. :):) I always worry about ticks when he is cutting wood for the fires this winter. I think pain robs people of their joy....and pain meds are not the answer that's for sure. That is one reason I just will use heat pads, or ice packs, and aspirins. I better find myself something to bring joy to my heart this winter. As I age I can feel some depression at times. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  3. The pics of your great grandsons brings a big smile to my face. They are darling. So thankful your tooth is calm for now. Winter is my least favorite season. I know it is much more severe where you are. Like you I will miss walking around in the garden and porch sitting. Take good care and I pray that your tooth will not hurt you until you can get into the dentist.

    1. Mildred, I am glad you like walking in your area and gardening. Also sitting on one's porch is so enjoyable in good weather. Although if the wind isn't fierce, I will sit out on chilly days. I will walk up and down the driveways to be outside in winter. LOL. My neighbors probably think I am crazy. LOL Thank you for the prayers. Bless you, xoxo, Susie

    2. Lisa, I knew you meant Luke. :) Those are my cutie pies and so is their cousin Layla. I haven't had many new photos of her lately.
I laughed about hibernating..when we came out of the grocery today, I told Ted that I wanted to get home and get a blanket. LOL It's so cold with the rain and wind. I need to get some journals and start writing in them for the grandkids. :) That could be my winter salvation. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  10. What a doll!!! How do you keep your hands off him?

Sending prayers that you get some peace and comfort with that tooth-hang in there.

Weather is terrible here. I'm so glad I'm comfy and cozy now on Friday night, watching a Hallmark movie! Hubs is at the lake and feeling cold as well. Tomorrow night, a fire for sure.

Oh these cold days are a prelude, I am afraid. The weather looks scary in Minn. Yes, the fire makes the house feel toasty. Hope you and your husband get to be together and enjoy a cozy fire. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

  11. You have the cutest great-grands. Love how Max is holding his pumpkin. It's getting cold here too. I'm sorry to see the summer go but hopefully the cold weather will kill some of the pollen around here. Allergies have been bad.

    1. Kathy, We love our babies, don't we. I too am sad for the sweet days of summer to leave. Oh I had forgotten about allergens...yes, this cold will kill them off and some bugs flying around outside. There for awhile I could not sit on the porch, tiny things biting. Stay warm and safe. Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo, Susie

  12. im so glad your tooth calmed down!
We are about to get ready to drive up to Oklahoma and see some of Louis Dean’s nephews. It’s cold here this morning and even colder there!
These are the grown sons of Louis Dean’s deceased brother. He died in a hunting accident when they were just babies. We’re taking some old photos and things to them.
    Stay warm!
By the way, every time I write your name down for the drawing , I always add a ‘Q’ to it!

The heat is coming on and fire in the fireplaces like you seem to be happening too. I guess fall is finally here to stay. Have a good weekend. Enjoy that fireplace. I miss having a fireplace.

  16. Hi Susie, I see Jess sent you a comment up above. That is the cutest picture of Luke and Big Boy. I love how Liz swooped his hair up like that. He's getting so big. And I love the picture of Max next to his pumpkin. I'm glad that your tooth calmed down a bit. Hang in there til the 6th. Oh, a fire in the fireplace! Is that your first one of the season? It sounds like the big wood box comes in handy bringing firewood inside quicker. Yes, the cold season has already started for you. It's getting chillier here too....and I am lovin' it.

Have a good week coming up, Susie.

    love, ~Sheri

Yes, that big box on the deck will hold about a weeks worth of firewood. It's been nice to have a small morning and evening fire. We may get some 60 degree days this coming week. All crazy temps. Blessings to you for a great new week. Love, xoxo, Susie
