Happenings, Bad & Good......

Got up this morning to a heavy frost. Hoping this is the snow they predicted. LOL.  The grass was white.  Up early to call my dentist...for goodness sake. My tooth hurt all night...the one my dentist trimmed down so it would not strike the tooth above. They fit me in for an x-ray exam.
This is the frost on the golf course.    I get the x-ray, the tooth is fractured.  It needs to come out.  Thankful it's in the back.
My dentist does no extractions or root canal.  Why??   So had to make an appointment in Kokomo. Well it's closer. Can't get anything done till the 6th of November !!   I will be a lunatic by then. This hurts. Can't eat very well. Maybe the up side , I'll lose some weight. If only.  This shot is the park, went by there, cause I felt so down from the dentist visit.
Driving thru town, look at that sky. So pretty and so cold. The air is crisp.
Since the cold arrived the color is popping out some.
Here's a new building going up in our small town, dang near built on the sidewalk. GRRR. Who does this?
Will you allow me to say a bit more about pumpkins ?? LOL. Max is getting his 1st jack-o-lantern. His mom is cutting the top off, as he laughs about it.
He gets his sleeves rolled up and goes at taking the seeds out. So funny.
Then his mommy lets him see it lit up with it's face. He loved it. and knows no touching....even with a battery candle.
Back to the dentist appointment. I get home and find out it's the same time as my eye dr. visit. Good grief.  So I call the eye dr. to change for a week later. I may have to be put to sleep for this tooth extraction.  Let me tell you, I really try to be an upbeat person. But oh boy there's times I just want to bawl and tear my hair out.  The more I think about that.... the more I realize it's because of dental work most often. I do not remember biting anything hard enough to break a tooth...so what is going on. This is actually a tooth I have asked Dr. Mike to pull before...they will not pull a tooth because you think it needs it or you want it.  But then now here it is fractured needing a special procedure....when it could have been easily removed.  I am going to be bald one day and probably toothless to boot.  :):)
Wishing all of you a better day than I had this morning. Well while I was at the dentist anyway. XO

  1. I'm so sorry to hear about the tooth. Too bad he just didn't do it when you wanted to. My dentist says it is common for our teeth to crack and chip as we get older...fun, fun. I know you will be so happy to have it done with! xoxoxo

    1. Oh Linda, I did not want to read that about teeth cracking and chipping as we age. LOL This tooth has a root canal. I remember losing one before after fillings, a root canal and crown and still lost the tooth. I think it may stem from being poorly nourished as a child. I go twice a year for cleanings and x-rays and still have to go thru this. I know I am blessed compared to others. But I would like a fair shake. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. Dental pain is in a class all of its own! Been there - done that - and about to do it again! Avoiding a tooth fracture is exactly why the dentist recommended Louis Dean get his remaining teeth crowned since we knew LD would never deal well wearing a bridge! Since he has fewer teeth, those need to be strengthened so they hold up and not fracture. It cost so much $$ that Louis Dean quipped, “I hope I live long enough to make this a worthy investment!”

November 1st I’m having the rest of my teeth pulled....all 7 of them! Not looking forward to that and having to adjust to dentures but I’m grateful we have the $ to do it and grateful for a gifted and wonderful dentist! I’ll be taking them some Pumpkin Muffins, that’s for sure!
I’m saying a prayer that you get some pain relief and don’t have to suffer every day until you can get it extracted. Did the dentist at least prescribe you something for the pain?

    1. Linda, I wish you and LD the very best with your dental work...Maybe with dentures you won't have tooth aches. :) No my dentist did not prescribe anything...I'll just take Tylenols and not eat on that side and pray. I am seriously thinking of changing dentist here in my old age. Makes me sad to think about that. Linda, I am a huge chicken when it comes to dental pain.So I hope I can last till the 6th and not have any woes after. Thank you so much for the prayers. This tooth has a root canal...so why would it hurt at all? Don't you wonder?? Blessings to you and LD. love you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Sylvia, The dental profession and medical doctors all want to be specialists I guess. I need to change dentist really, he isn't even in my area of accepted dentist on my insurance. No, no meds, I'll take Tylenols for pain. Praying I can hold out till the 6th of Nov. Holding my breath. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. Oh dear, dental pain is right up there with back pain!! It's awful. I'm so sorry about all of it.....dentists, while they are important, they can strike a nerve. no pun intended :). Why won't they let us be in charge of our own mouths??
I had to chuckle about being bald and toothless!
The jack-o-lantern is so cool! The little guy so cute!

    1. Doris, I truly love my dentist , although as time goes on ...I wonder if I should not change now. He isn't in my insurance group, so I pay more to go there. It seems to be one scary visit after another. I am not fond of the dental chair. LOL It all makes me tear my hair. Thanks for visiting and leaving comments. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. I'm so sorry you're going through all this dental stuff, Susie. I hope it all gets taken care of very soon. I really do feel for you having to deal with all of this. That is the cutest picture of Max getting his first pumpkin. He got right in there trying to get all the seeds out. What a cute jack-o-lantern it is! You already have frost! I took a long walk with my son today up the street. He always exercises, so I appreciated that he went with me for a bit cause I want to start walking more. : )

Take care of that tooth, Susie. I'll be thinking of you.

    1. Sheri, I keep thinking when will this all be over. I take care of my teeth , go get x-rays and cleanings twice a year...which isn't cheap....even with insurance. Then to still have problems bothers me. I asked about having that tooth extracted because of of it hits the tooth on top...which it just seems to have started happening as if the tooth shifted. Wish I had demand the dentist just do as I wanted. I am losing faith in him and that breaks my heart. It has eased since I took the Tylenols. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie

  6. Sweet girl, I hope they can fix that tooth sooner rather than later, there is nothing worse than a toothache...
Love the colors showing up at the last minute, what a pretty tree.
I'm smiling at the look on Max's face, he's got that hurry up look, and so excited :)
    Feel better soon sweet.

    1. Jo, I will not be eating on that side ...yikes...I fear it will get worse. I took some Tylenols and that has helped. But it will be soft foods for me.
Wasn't Max's face so cute. I love my grands so much. I look at them everyday and never tire of their expressions. Thank you for the kind words. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  8. Hi Susie, I'm so sorry for your tooth pain-I truly know what that is like. I can also tell you that I've had a dentist pull a tooth for me and a specialist-I'll take the specialist every day-less pain and it is quicker. I have a bridge and several root canals. I'm surprised your dentist didn't give you some sort of antibiotic to help with the pain. You might just be put in the twilight zone, as they call it-where you don't feel it, but are still not totally under. Love seeing all the colors in your town. What a cutie you've got working on the pumpkin.
We had snow today-I want it to leave.
    Hugs,

    1. Noreen, I think you will have more snow than we have here. I am so not ready...but then I never am any more. I am not aggravating this tooth believe me. I still brush it so gently. Max just makes me happy watching all he is learning from my granddaughter and her husband. She has sent videos of him reading to baby Luke..so sweet. Blessings, stay warm, xoxo, Susie

  10. I'm so sorry to hear that! There is no worse pain than a toothache! I hope you get it taken care of. The dentists are always wanting you to get extra things done and I've had to speak up and say no to some of the procedures...those that just don't see worth it. And having a tooth extracted may be the answer to your problem. Oh my...I'm praying you for my friend. Hugs, Diane

    1. Diane, You are absolutely right about the dentist. This year I actually got a letter from my dentist telling me if I did not use all my dental allowance from my insurance it would go to waste...that just made me more suspecting of misuse. I have felt that this certain tooth has been moving because it seems to be striking the tooth above it. I have a hard time trying to get Dr. to understand that. He did drill across the top of it to shorten it. Now it's fractured and has to come out the hard way. Thank you for any prayers my friend. It helps to know others do understand my problem. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Sending love and hugs. I will be honest. I had one of those weeks too. Bad news after bad news. I also try to be upbeat. I was struggling this week.

  12. Susie, I'm very sorry about your tooth. I have had a lot of dental work over the last 20 years and I certainly understand your frustration. Dealing with the pain is terrible. Could you ask to be called if they have a cancellation? Cute photos of Luke with his jack o' lantern. Sending a hug.

    1. Mildred, I go twice a year for x-rays and cleaning and still have these kinds of problems. You would think the dentist can see if I am having issues. I am seriously thinking of changing dentists. I can't be call in for a cancellation cause I might have to be put to sleep. I will just have to do the best I can...to keep this tooth quiet. Wasn't the pumpkin venture so sweet? Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    2. Oh Susie, I'm sorry for your tooth pain. I hate doing to the dentist and have a tooth now that will need to be pulled some time but it's not in a good place so I don't know what I'll do. I'll probably end up toothless too, Susie, so you won't be by yourself! lol! Take care. xx Cheryl

  14. Oh you poor little thing, Susie! I really have never met anyone who likes the dentist let alone having an extraction. It seems that dentists have broken off into "specialists" like the doctors have done...I hate it! Relax & recover quickly...:)JP

    1. JP, You are so right, the dentist are becoming specialists. So the money is spread out..I really do not understand it. I have yet to get my tooth extracted , that will be Nov.6th. I have got that tooth relaxed by taking a couple Tylenols . I certainly will not eat on that side. LOL. Hope your day is a good one there. It's beginning to feel like winter here.
