The New Week.....

A heathy hardy new great grandson....it's a wonderful way to start  the week. Our granddaughter Margo finally had her baby. He was late to arrive. I think he was trying to be born on his daddy's birthday later this week. This is Leo, he weights 9 pounds.  I am looking forward to holding him.
My day started out foggy (like so many of my days ,LOL)  This is out front.
A mile down the road, there were many birds eating something.. Love the background tree in the fog..
At a 4-way stop in town, the same time as a semi truck, you can see the clock tower in the fog. I was meeting my classmates for a breakfast. There were 8 of us this time, many still on vacation in Florida. ??
After the breakfast, I went to join my daughter Kathy. We picked up a delicious coffee at a gas station...haha. It was clean there, and so many different flavors and creamers, who knew?  They even gave me a card ,so after ten coffees I get one free. Unreal.  Kathy and I drove the country side for a bit and took photos. She wanted me to see this house falling down. Sad, someone is mowing there and there was a new camper in the back yard....we wondered if it was the owners coming home for the summer, fall months and possibly going south in winter.
The crops were in here, so I got this shot. Thankful the barn owner takes care of his barn.
This is an old one that needs some care. I wonder if they know it's cheaper to tend the old than build new.
Here's one back from the road  I like the vine on the front fence in this picture.
What do farmers do with these big bales of whatever?  They seem to just sit forever, making nice housing for field mice, I suppose. LOL
This was a fun shot. Kathy pulls up and say get a picture mom...the horse was facing the barn...well you know what kind of shot that would have been. A horse's backside...so I rolled the window down and whistled , yell , "here boy" and he spun around and  this was good.  I think every time Kathy and I want to get pictures it's cloudy  or raining. Hopefully soon we will get a nice day.
Have a happy day where you are. XO

  1. Congratulations on the birth of your healthy new great-grandson, he's a keeper :)
Beautiful pictures in the countryside, so serene and perfect for Autumn weather.
Sad about the farmhouse in distress, what tales those walls could tell !
    Have a lovely week Susie.
    Hugs,

    1. Thank you Jo. I am anxious to see this new baby. We all love our babies in this family. :):) I like seeing things in my own county that I have never seen before. :) I do wonder what happened when I see property decaying. Blessings to you for a fun week. xoxo, Susie

  2. Congratulations on that healthy new ggrandson! Love the house photo. Good job, getting him to turn for you! Unless the farmer is actively using the barn, it's actually cheaper to let it fall down. Taxes on buildings that are not helping make the income are just another drain on income. As soon as the farmer makes improvements to his buildings, the taxes go up. Sad but true. The large bales here are usually wrapped in plastic to protect them from rain. Some say that even bales left out to the elements only lose the very outer layer to rot, and I suppose some can't afford to have them wrapped.

  5. Welcome to the world, little Leo! Susie, he's precious. Oh no, the old house has fallen down. I wonder what will happen to that old house - will they demolish it or try to sell it? I'm glad you got to go to the country with your daughter. I just took a drive in the country this morning for some quiet time, and it was wonderful. Yes, I'm curious to know what the farmers do with those huge bales? This girl does not like field mice haha. Oh, you took a nice picture of the white horse. The fog around your area is beautiful.

Wishing you sweet October days, Susie.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Thank you Sheri. We are excited about Leo , he was late being born by about 2 weeks. I want to hug on him for sure. :)
RThat old house down from me is still barely standing. When the leaves turn , I will get more photos...it really is going, the roof has almost totally fallen in. The sides are popping out to the north. Judy says those bales can last a very long time. I just thought they looked rotted...so it good for animals I guess.
I like foggy mornings too....but not so dense people can't see to drive...I remember those scary days when I had to get to work.So I usually pray God will let people get to and from safely. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie

  10. Congrats Susie on the birth of your great grandson Leo. Love his name. Wow that is some great pics along your route. Love the horse turning for you to take his picture. That house falling down is kind of sad. A beautiful home at one time that I am sure family after family was raised there. So sad to see it falling down and not cared for. A big part of history gone. Happy New Week.

    1. Diana, This baby boy was late arriving. I know Margo had to be relieved. I text her just a bit, I know she better rest for now. Gee, I know about the newborn clothes...the grands here are not wearing them more than once. Lynzie got a good report for Luke at the children's hospital yesterday. He's amazing the drs. No meds for his Cystic Fibrosis.

  16. I will echo what everybody else is saying, congratulation!
I really like all your shots. The only places I can get shots like that around here is not around here. Western Ma. is very rural dotted with little farms or New Hampshire. As I may or may have not said before thank you for your comments and support at my blog. I do appreciate it.
