This evening's sunset. I am so thankful we have had sunshine, because the weather is so very cold. It was wind chills down to 30 degrees below zero this morning.
This is the super moon coming up over the woods down the road. I love all the woods around here...but they block good views at times.
I need a great new camera lens...I keep sayng I will get one...not sure when. LOL
This is last night when I first noticed the moon was out.
Yesterday sunset...so pretty just going down at the horizon. I love the colors.
This is my son in law clearing his drive. His truck is all snowed over, as he left it out so he could work on his parents' van this week. Jeff is a great young man.
Karen rewarded her husband for his kindness by baking pumpkin breads. She sent pictures of chocolate chip cookies a bit ago. She says it helps to keep the house warm by baking. Plus, lots of nice things to eat. :):)
We have stayed in and watched movies, working on a puzzle too. I am eager to get outside and walk some...but it sure won't be during this dreadful cold spell. Please take care if you are in this cold also.
It will be nice when the temperatures get into the 30-40's.
Windows 10 is getting ready to load more"whatever" on my computer...the last time that happened I was out a computer for a couple weeks. I wish they would just let me say -yes I want that, or no, I do not want that....cause I sure would be saying no. I believe if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
Hope all of you start the new year off on a good foot. Praying we all have a great year of good health and lots of understanding. Bless you. XO
You got some great moon shots, Susie!!! That pumpkin bread looks good, too.
ReplyDeleteI don't think you usually have that much snow hanging around, do you?
I hate those Windows 10 updates, too. I put them off as long as I can. lol
I hope you and Ted & your whole family are blessed with a healthy, happy New Year full of unexpected joy and the promise of lots of good things.
Love to you- looking forward to seeing you when I get down to Mindy's house again! xo Diana
Diana, I looked into the almanac for this winter...It said we were to have a mild winter. All I can say is ...come on spring. LOL The last two winters we had little snow and it sure was not this cold for this long. Diana, I am hoping I can use my computer when Windows 10 loads their latest and greatest stuff. They fouled up my computer last time...and as I am not a techy, it's hard for me to adjust to their updates.
DeleteOther than this cold that has kept us apart for family for a week...we are doing well. Let's plan on a lunch date in spring. LOL. Blessings with love, xoxo, Susie
All that snow . . . I got chills just looking at your photos. Love the moon shots over the woods; they are so pretty. We've had a little snow, but not enough to worry about. Steve did finally get his chains on the tractor, so he's ready when or if the snow comes:)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Connie :)
Connie, Your Steve will be glad he is prepared for any snow. Our snow would probably be gone if it would warm up....but the weatherman says come this weekend a small warm bring new snow. :(:( Thank you for the new years wishes and I send some to you for good health and happiness. Bless you , xoxo, Susie
DeleteI did’t realize we had a super moon! The weather has been so adverse that I haven’t seen the moon for a few nights! We have enough snow for the whole winter as far as I’m concerned but I know it’s not over. Cold- yes too too cold!! Blessings to you and your family for a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteLiz, There will be a super moon on Jan 31st also...it was being called a Super Moon Trilogy. One in Dec and two in Jan of 2018. Hope you get to see it. The snow reflected back the moon light last night and it was so bright. Let's all stay safe and warm this winter...it's miserable cold and also dangerous for those working outside. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWe had a beautiful moon tonight too. There was a big ring around it. I think it is the cold temperatures that does that. Our temps have been well below zero as well.
ReplyDeleteit does look cold!! Beautiful photos though,, sometimes I think cold makes the photos even better,,its cold here as well, take care and keep warm!! Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteLaurie, The weather lady said it was warmer in Alaska than it was here in central Indiana. I do not ever remember this many cold days in a row. I would not be a good Eskimo. They are so brave and smart. Blessings, stay warm and safe. xoxo, Susie
DeleteWe complain if it is too hot and we complain if it is too cold. I'll take the hot over the cold. Air conditioners work great but I can't get warm.
ReplyDeleteYou have beautiful pictures. I just took pictures of the super moon a couple of hours ago. It didn't look that "super" setting but I forgot about it earlier. Try to stay warm. If you can.
Kathy, You bet sweet girl...I will complain when I am sweating again this summer. LOL. I do think heat is easier to deal with than cold ...especially this kind of dangerous cold. It makes me hurt to think of really long ago days when people heated their home with nothing but a fireplace. Brrrr, I must be a sissy, I could not take it. LOL. Blessings to you and Joe, please try to stay in where it's safe. xoxo, Susie
DeleteYou took some great pics of the moon....and the sunset! Any of those would make a beautiful painting! I’m so glad all my Santa painting is done for awhile now. I’m thinking of what I want to paint next. Some critter canvases from the ranch....and landscapes....
ReplyDeletePossibilities all over the place. But first I’m going to settle back down to writing. I need to wind up Part I of my book and wade into the waters of Part II. We hope to get down to the ranch this weekend. Who knows? We may be down there for the Super Moon on the 31st!
Linda, If you get to see the super moon rising...that is when it's so big looking, at the horizon. I think little goat picture or chickens would be so sweet. I can not wait to read your life story...I know we have some similar experiences. Please stay safe and warm there. We just ventured to the store for cat things. I have never felt so cold in my life. Blessings to you, LD, and all the family. xoxo, love Susie
DeleteThe sunset is beautiful behind the snow. Wow 30 below? It was 11 degrees here this morning! It was in the 60s last week!
ReplyDeleteLisa
Lisa, Our world is changing in many , many ways. I do not ever remember cold like this, and so many days of it. Stay warm and safe honey. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI just finished whining about the cold on my blog and the first two blogs I have read had it colder than we did.
ReplyDeleteNice photos! I love where you live. So different than around here.
Rats! I knew about the super moon but didn't check it out.
Happy New Year my friend!
Boston Boy, I fear the coast is really in for some bad stuff. The way the weatherman reported this morning , a storm is coming along the coast from the south and will mix with the cold you already have. Brr. I am a big sissie girl any more. Can not take the terrible cold. You know the older I get the less I care for really cold days or really hot ones. LOL. I want that sweet vegas weather. LOL There will be another super moon on the 31st. They called it a super moon trilogy..one in Dec, then the 1st and 31st of Jan. I would love to be near the water horizon as it rises. Blessings to you and Arlene, stay warm. xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, what beautiful pictures you always have. I can't imagine it being that cold. I love the different seasons and I feel thankful that we have the climate that we have. We see just enough of the 4 seasons and I like it that way. But, it does make for some gorgeous photography. I like the sentiment that baking makes the house warmer!..Happy New Year..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteJudy, This is the longest stretch of cold days I can ever remember. Too many and too cold. Yes, My girls all love to bake . I can remember when I work nights and on Friday when they could wait up for me, they would bake pumpkin breads for our weekend. I miss having them in my life everyday. Funny, I know. Blessings to you stay warm, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIts too dang cold! Can't wait until spring! Love the sunset photos! Not the snow ones! LOL I am staying in and getting bored...been on the computer a lot more lately...tired of cleaning and being sick.
ReplyDeleteTete, I do not know what people are going to do if this cold stuff doesn't let up. I am just so thankful to not have ice with this. Please pray for the east coast, they are in for a horrible spell of crazy weather. Blessings and warm hugs to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh my, everytime I think of how cold it is here I think about you all and what you're going through. You stay warm and take care. hopefully, we'll have an early spring. Hugs and love, xo
ReplyDeleteHi Susie, Hope you are staying warm there...this cold is effecting about the entire U.S. And the east coast is really in for some very nasty weather, praying for our country. Warm hugs to you my sweet friend. Bless you and yours, xoxo, Susie
Delete30 degrees below zero, that is one cold spell, Susie. Please bundle up and stay warm. I think that's a good idea for Karen to do all that baking. I've noticed that it does warm the house. I made banana bread last night with chocolate chips, pretty good. Although it's freezing there in your area, your pictures are beautiful, Susie.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, This is crazy cold weather. I do not in all my years ever remember this many cold days in a row. I have to pray for our country it's in a mess. The east coast is going to be suffering this next few days. I like chocolate chips in breads and muffins. :):) The girls have always loved to make breads. I remember all the pumpkin breads they used to bake when I worked nights. We would enjoy them the whole weekend. Blessings to you and your sweet family. Stay safe. love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYeah, it is cccold outside! The snow is pretty, but if you can't play in it or build a snowman, then it's just noooo fun! And now I want banana bread! It was a beautiful supermoon! Stay warm and safe and dry! Happy New Year! And for the record, I wish I had kept Windows 7. Aloha!
ReplyDeleteHI, Thanks for visiting. This cold has a grip on the U.S. Please pray for the east coast, they are in for very dangerous weather. We shall have a new super moon on the 31st of Jan. OH I am so hoping I can post after tomorrow....that is when the upgrade of windows ten will load...the last time it hung up and did not finish loading and messed my computer up. Blessings to you and yours for a very happy, healthy new year. xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo much snow! Beautiful pictures as always Susie! It's been so cold here! I know it's snowing on the coast of South Carolina, but not where I live. I hope your new year is going well!
ReplyDeletePilar, I saw it was snowing in the south again. I pray for the east coast, as well as the whole US...we are very cold and I am ready for spring. :):) Blessings to you honey, stay warm. xoxo, Susie
DeleteBURRRRRR....its cold. Great shots. I took a few of the moon the other night. It is totally SUPER for sure. Happy New Year.

DeleteHi Susie, it sure has been bitterly cold here too. We didn't get much snow but just enough to have a white Christmas which was nice. I'm so not a winter person, so I'm already longing for spring. :) Stay warm and safe! Wishing you and yours a wonderful New Year filled with many blessings!
ReplyDeletexx Cheryl

DeleteIt does look very cold over there in Indiana. We are cold here too. I am so thankful for a warm house, good food and HGTV! LOL
ReplyDeleteStay warm, my friend!
Great pictures. Moon shots are awesome and I wish I had a slice of that pumpkin bread. Happy New Year. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeletePraying, too, for the same. I got myself out today and walked in the mall and then over to Central Park to get some pictures. Not too bad as long as I kept moving. I'm going to services tomorrow morning -- just a block away -- and then I'm home and cooking and reading. Keep cozy!
ReplyDeleteGoodness, that sure is cold Susie! I hope the worst of it is past for you. Pretty pictures of the moon that you took! I like to bake when its cold too, as it does seem to warm the house and heart up :) I wish you a very Happy New Year and sweet blessings of the Lord in this coming year :)
