Sunday Fog & Monday Rain.......

Sunday started foggy and ended with us living in a cloud, or so it seemed. :)
The snows had melted except for a pile here and there.
Fog makes the world kind of quiet , I think.
No wind, the weather vane is standing still. That is one reason the fog lingered and thickened.
Here's the sun coming up this Monday morning, only to met a front coming from the west.
It grew dark for a bit, the weatherman said even in any month of the year, if conditions are right , there can be bad storms. That won't happened today....but the wind is blowing, so hopefully no fog.
This is the edge of the rain . It almost looks like a human profile. From the a person's left side. I took a few photos, arranged some things on the porch against wind gust. once I got back in the house it started raining.
Since all my pictures are grey and boring, I had to post some color. This is  a valentine's display. . I think it was last year at the grocery. But it is getting close to that sweet day. I only give valentines to my grandkids. Now it may be just the g.grands. LOL
Wishing all of you a brand new week, filled with fun. XO

  2. I don’t do much for Valentine’s Day anymore. I may buy a package for the grands.
Last night around midnight another thunderstorm blew in and woke me up. This one lowered the temps by 20 degrees. I’m thinking having that sturdy room right up to the camper is making everything stronger. Kind of like our gazebo being sheltered by the trunk of the big elm, the neighbor’s shed behind and our house in front of it.
I went in the room to hear the wind howl and was sure happy I had blocked some of the spaces u dear the camper. We should have underpinned it before we started the room. Oops.
You’re right about the fog. Everything seems softer and quieter. I’d not thought about that before.
Happy Monday to you and Teddy Bear!
Oh, I read all the comments on my blog to Louis Dean and he always says, “Now that was OUR Susie Q, right?” Yes, you ARE!

    1. Linda, You may want to have the camper anchored to the new room. I am hoping all the new piping is being put below the frost line. I thought about even in Texas it can freeze. Of course our weather is just crazy. Glad you block off some of the openings. I laughed about LD knowing I wrote that about the messy room. LOL. Today was 54 degrees !! Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie

  4. Those clouds do look like a face. I thought the same thing. I like fog if I am not driving in it. Valentine's Day is special to Joe and me. I guess after 11 years we are still "newly weds". Have a good day.

    1. Kathy, I hate to even think of being on the road in fog. It almost makes me feel claustrophobic. You and Joe will always be sweethearts. :):) Teddy my sweetie...but I rarely buy gifts for Valentine's day. So Now I give cards with a bit of money for the little ones. :) Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  7. I'm back home in Chicago. We had fog and slush in both Michigan and here. This morning we had a huge thunderstorm and our power went out for about an hour. Your pictures truly sum up this wonky weather.

    Stay dry, Susie!

    1. Blondie, The weather is just crazy.ups and downs. Today though was 54 degrees....it rained early and the wind blew steady. But the evening ended in a bit of sunshine. Loved it. I always fear loss of power, especially if it rains....I never want the basement to flood. It did not rain that much here. I am ready for mild days. Blessings, stay healthy, xoxo, Susie

  10. I can see the human profile in the last picture. Our snow is just about gone except for some large piles that the city dumped in some large parking lots. It's warming up again. The 50's are coming. Not the Happy Days kind though.

    1. Boston Boy, Oh baby if only it was the happy days fifties. LOL A simpler life for all. I have often wondered where cities put all their snows. Our little town hauls piles of snow to the parking lot by the pool and it melts and runs into the creek at the park. Wishing you a great day there in bean town. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  11. We've had a lot of foggy days here too... amazing how the fog hangs low and the air is thick, and yes I think more quiet too. Such a pretty Valentine display, hard to believe we are looking into February now! Hopefully you get a break from the difficult weather. We have a snowstorm coming in tomorrow, apparently. I will be glad to get the snow, as I am enjoying cross country skiing. :) Hugs to you today dear friend!

    1. Marilyn, I think we had more fog last year than I can ever remember. I remember walking in it to get to school...it would seem eerie. It good that you are enjoying your snows. I think since my blood is thinner , I get cold easier and thus am not such a snow person . Thank you for the hugs. Bless you and stay safe, xoxo, Susie

  14. Susie, foggy mornings are so beautiful to me. What lovely clouds these are, and Yes, I can see the profile of a person!! The other day a blog friend showed a picture of the tree she took, and there was a heart that formed into the tree. Inside the heart I saw an eye, nose, and white beard. I'm so glad that you see things in nature too, Susie. I love all the Valentine goodies in the stores, but I feel there's not enough of it, only a limited selection. Have fun sending your great grandchildren Valentines. Do you know the old Valentines that we got in school growing up? I still send those to my kids in the mail hahaha.

Your fog pictures are so pretty today, Susie. Thanks for sharing them. : )

  16. Hi Susie ~ Fog can be so depressing. Before we retired and moved to So. CA, we lived in the Valley and it was a "pocket" for fog. Even so, your pictures are really nice. Valentine's Day, like Linda...I don't do much. I have left up the splashes of red after taking down Christmas, so will add perhaps a bouquet to the table and a little heart sign I have.

We had a "cousins" reunion this weekend, and my dearest an I tried to do Kareoaki (Don't know how to spell it) but laugh, I thought I'd die...my Don doing "Splish Splash, I was taken a bath." That's something for this old retired preacher. hahaha. Have a great week.

    1. Wanda, I know the reunion will be a wonderful time. I miss our family times. My daughter gives a reunion in her home for family and most just won't make the effort...it's sad. But we all get along great. I guess we have all become the hubs of our own family circles. LOL. I would dearly love to see a video of the your honey singing. What a hoot that would be. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  18. Hello Susie, the fog and snow both make everything seem quiet and still. It is so windy here every day, but the last two days have been still and I enjoy it so much because the sun feels so good and you don't have to fight the wind. I think they out the valentine stuff up as they took Christmas down here. As always, I like your sky and sunset pics there. Xoxo

We had a late winter but it was horribly cold for 14 days , then warm , then back to cold. I just keep wearing a sweater everyday. LOL Blessings, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

  20. I wish our snow had melted this well. We had the fog yesterday and icy roads so schools were closed. We’re expecting a brief warmup and then back to the colder temps again. This has been a roller coaster winter so far! Thanks for visiting- I’m glad you liked my tablescape!
