A Walk For Cystic Fibrosis.....

This is the tent where everyone gathered to walk for raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis.   Our great grandson Luke has this affliction.  He is in good shape now. But will be going through many rough times in his life.
On Saturday,  this is daddy Mark carrying Luke through the walk.  There were other families walking for their loved ones also.
The tag on Mark's shirt  reads , I'm walking for Luke. # whyIstride4CF
Luke  looking over daddy's shoulder with his Purdue cap atop his head.
Here's Luke's big brother Max. His shirt says, I am walking for, My little brother Luke.
Seems Luke found a wee girl to hold his hand. Aww, young love.
  Here's Luke's Gigi (Liz) and mommy(Lynzie) , pretty girls.
Max doesn't go far without  his playmate cousin,  Layla. They get along so well.

After a long day of walking and hand holding, Luke seems very happy. I love this little sweetheart. I always pray a cure will be found.
This all went on last Saturday in Lafayette, In. There will be another walk next year. I am going to try to do some walking for Luke and others.
Hope you are loving  this wonderful week. The weather today was perfection. Give me a whole summer of this. Enjoy . XO

  1. What a wonderful thing to do, Susie! I'm glad to hear little Luke is doing well now. I must admit I don't know a lot about C.F. and what I do know is based on old information. I am hoping new medications and practises have made it come a long way. Have a wonderful weekend. -Jenn

    1. Thank you Jenn. I do believe CF researchers are learning more. Hopefully one day a cure will be found. I read a story in the Indy Star about a young mom who had a lung transplant that helped her, but she became pregnant and had a child and was now is in a bad way...but her baby did not have CF. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Linda, Luke is a happy child and so is Max. I have seen them both tired and grumpy a few times. :) I truly appreciate your prayers for my family. Some times I cry while I pray, can't help it, I am only human. But I have faith, God loves Luke and will be at his side always. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie

    1. Laurie, I am nt sure how much money they raised as it was a bit of a quick event. But my granddaughter was not used to helping pull these events together...she will learn more as time goes along. Praying for a cure. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Susie, I have bronchiectasis, which is different from CF but often treated in some of the same ways (compression vest, etc.). So I super-applaud your walk for this, not just for your own special guy but for all those who have this disease. I really feel for the children.

    1. Thank you Jeanie. I hope you are doing well. Any thing that effects the lungs...you have to stay away from flu and cold germs ..if possible. It's scary. Luke's mommy and grandmother (Gigi) are nurses...that gives me less stress. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  8. This is just awesome Susie. What a beautiful cause. My SIL's cousin two kids both have CF and they are doing well but they had to move to dryer climate to help with their disease. Glad to see Luke is doing so well. Luke is a cutie and has that infectious smile. Have a great day today Susie. Big hugs. Kris

    1. Thank you so much Gert. Luke is a healthy strong boy. He gets check ups every couple of months. Lynzie and Mark are careful about who's around him if they are sick. There will be tough battles in Luke's future. He's a happy boy and close to his brother Max. :) Hope you are doing well and staying cool. I think we had a couple weeks of spring then went right into the heat of summer. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie
