Hazy Days....

I know you have heard of those lazy, hazy days of summer. They are here now.  This is at 6:45 this morning. The haze is hang over the fields.
The sun is already up shining between the house and the shop.
I love looking out the dining room window at the catalpa tree , when the sun shines on it
The backyard is looking green this morning.
The dampness and heat are making the flowers spread out.
That potato vine is still growing, coming thru the rails to the steps. May have to trim it.  Do not want it tripping anyone.
This potato vine is doing some growing also. Gee, we need to power wash the deck and the lattice .
I forgot to show the work we did yesterday. Well it was not  really hard work, but it was team work. We put up a new mailbox. Our old one was trimmed in wood and it was starting to rot. I had painted it three times.( You all  know how I paint) This is one of those plastic things. I won't be painting it. Well maybe the flag if it dulls.
Please everyone, use caution in this heat that is coming on. Drink water, stay inside during the hottest part of the day, noon till five.  Use sunscreen when outside.  We are in for about 10 days of over 90 temperatures, here in Indiana. The heat index will be make it worse.. Be safe. XO

  3. I love your yard and the flowers and trees. So peaceful and serene. I take TWO bottles of water with me when I go in the car now and I usually drink all of one of them! It's HOT here!

    1. Diane, I do not like the heavy heat...I did not like it as a kid. I do absolutely love the pretty skies we have been having. Yes, people need to keep water in their cars in a cooler even when it's like this. I really worry for older people or kids who do not even know they may be getting dehydrated. Blessings, stay cool young lady. xoxo, Susie

    1. Carrie, Do you get breezes from the ocean there? My vine is so big now, I would have to see it in a hanging basket. LOL. But they do look so nice in containers. Once I had one in an old mailbox container and the next year I found five potatoes in the dirt. Haha. Blessings honey, take care on the heat. xoxo, Susie

    1. Jann, I don't want that vine to touch the pavement , so I may have to put some bricks under the container, or wind it around stuff. LOL. I love getting haze or fog shots. Blessings for a fun filled weekend, xoxo, Susie

We've had such terrestrial rains...it's washed dome of the doil out of a few of my plants...uggg Like you, we,re to get some horrible temps tomorrow and this weekend. It was soooomuggy when I stepped out tonight, to let Rusty out. He was afraid as they are already shooting off fireworks😟 Their not suppose to start till the 4th...like they'll listen to the law!! They can't ever catch them. You stay in and cool...

    1. Gert, I always feel for kids and pets at the 4th because of fireworks. My friend used to say, "You always have the Adams families, letting of firecrackers at all hours for weeks." LOL I think more and more of those fireworks should be banned. They are scary and unsafe. Stay cool my firned and drink lots of water. I will probably be hanging in the AC or shade at least. Blessings Gert, love you, xoxo, Susie

  11. Susie, your place looks like such a wonderful place to live. Your flowers are so beautiful and the scenery so pretty. My flowers are drying up and I almost think I would rather have none than see the poor things wilting and droopy. Your photos are beautiful.
