Ted and I are home. We got to come home on Friday afternoon, right after Ted's doctor's appointment. His next appointment will be this Wednesday. His lab numbers were decent and the doctor thought he was ahead of everything by a week, that's great.
I went to the local dollar store and picked up this cute box that says it all, right on top.
It holds all of Ted's meds now. The drs say his meds will change weekly or monthly.
This is what our dining table looks like till I can get more organized. To think I truly used to be a very well organized person...not anymore. Yikes.
My daughters have come to visit this weekend and each has brought food items for us. Today Liz brought an awesome lasagna. We divided it into small containers to freeze. As Ted can not eat left overs that would be older than one day. He has had banana bread, his favorite from Karen (Liz's twin) Ted is doing well with his meds and his eating...but lacks energy. He is starting to walk around the house on the inside , just to get a bit of exercise. That's a start.
The catalpa tree has bloomed and is dropping it's blossoms like snow.
The clematis has bloomed also and looking very pretty.
Even the honeysuckle has started to grow again. thought it had died out last year. It's been raining the past two days and now this afternoon the skies are clearing. Looks pretty with all the trees leafed out and everything so green.
I want to thank all of you for your good wishes and prayers for us. We are thankful to all. May you each be blessed. XO
Will you just look at that huge smile on Ted's face, he's such a trooper !ReplyDelete
With all he's been through, he's remarkably happy and healthy-looking, and sure is glad to be back home :)
Hope your days continue to get easier and Ted gets healthier by the days.
Your flowers are just beautiful, and now you can enjoy them....
Good girls taking care of their mum and dad, bless them.
Hi Jo, Oh our girls are good cooks and very thoughtful about helping. It's been nice to have a bit of time with each one too. I have loved seeing our flowers , right here at home. Blessings to you sweet friend, xoxo, SusieDelete

bless your hearts...i can so relate to this...my table was full of meds, calendars to keep up the daily doses and etc. Bill did ok with his chemo..it was the radiation that drained him of energy. So glad your sweetheart is doing this well...continued prayers.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much BJ. Our dining table is a mini pharmacy. LOL. It's meds for fighting fungus, virial infections, anti-rejection meds, heart meds. I fear the chemo has hurt Ted's heart. I am hoping as long as he can take a walk each day he can build up to more energy. Thank you so very much for the prayers...they sure are helping us. Blessings, xoxo, love, SusieDelete
Oh this is wonderful news! He looks great! I keep you both in my prayers! Your flowers are beautiful, take care,ReplyDelete
Thank you Laurie. I am grateful for all good thoughts and prayers. It was nice to see our flowers. I can not have any in the house at this time of Ted's recovery. I think of you Garry and the children, and wish you all the very best. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I also love Ted's great big smile! So glad to see it. You don't worry one little bit about your table, you do what you need to do and that is IT! :-)ReplyDelete
My Dad had a catalpa tree, he called it a "worm tree", because of the moths and worms that come off of it? Oh, heck, I can't remember, I did a post about it once, I will have to look it up! Yes, I am a nut but I mean well. Take care, both of you!xxx
Kay, Thank you for the kind words. I know no one really cares about how one has to make do in troubled times. But it bothers me at times.Delete
There's male catalpa trees and they get the worms...which are good to use as fish bait. LOL. At least I think that's right..You know I will look that up later. LOL. Take care and hope the sun is shining for you. Our skies cleared up. hooray. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Such good news that Ted is home. And how sweet of your girls to bring over food. Don't worry about being disorganized. Things will get back to normal before you know it.ReplyDelete
Kathy, You know what's scary...this maybe my new normal. Yikes, help me. LOL It's so good to be home. When I feel like I step on the porch and breath deep. LOL. Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh Susie I am sorry to not have commented sooner. I’ve picked up little bits a pieces of what Ted is going through. It’s so good to know he’s home now. I’m sure his energy will return in good time. That’s a beautiful clematis!ReplyDelete
Hi Liz, So glad to hear from you. Yes, Ted's been thru a lot since November of last fall. I do believe he is getting to the true healing parts. It's a slow process. Everyone's kind words and prayers have helped us so very much. We have to do a day at a time. Blessings to you, stay well, xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh my goodness, this is awesome news and I'm shedding tears. You both try and get some rest in your own bed and rest assured God is still there for you both. prayers will continue on this end and sending great BIG Hugs. xoxoReplyDelete
Oh sweet Susie, you touch my heart. It was so good to step into our own home...even though it smell like it had been shut up for some time. Ted said his old recliner felt like it was hugging his bottom. I had to laugh about that. That old recliner is just about completely broke down from him and Emma wallowing in it. LOL. We miss our Emma Pooh, she grew up . Thank you for the prayers and good wishes. Blessings to you my dear friend, love you, xoxo, SusieDelete
So glad he got to come home. You are right nothing is better than being home.ReplyDelete
Hi Betty, Thank you for visiting. Oh yes, being home has been a boost to my spirits and Ted's also. Bless you, xoxo, SusieDelete
My goodness, Ted looks great. How wonderful to have daughters caring for you and bring food. Two of my favorites.ReplyDelete
Meds can be a pain....but so necessary. You have plenty of time to get organized. Right now....Ted is your priority. Love and Hugs.
Thank you Wanda. I keep telling Ted it's okay for me to boss him around now. If only he would listen. LOL. He laughed as I held his hand and walked hi to the mailbox. Tomorrow will be another short walk. I tell him a bit more each day will soon be a walk to the corner. Praying for you and your husband. I know you are going thru some tough things too. Blessings always, xoxo, love , SusieDelete
It is good to hear Ted is walking in the house and building up some stamina, and great your daughters visit and bring food. That is a big lift to see loved ones.ReplyDelete
Oh Terra you are so right. I have hugged and cried holding my daughters. We have not been around them for some time. It is sweet they are thinking of the food and treats for us. We know we are blessed. We have a great way to go, but have come this far...with wishes and prayers form so many. God is good . Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh such good news, Susie...I know you and Ted must be so happy to be home! So glad he is doing so well! Keeping you in my prayers for continued healing and strength! xoxoReplyDelete
Thank you so very much Linda. It was nice at the apartment near the hospital...but it was not home. We are just over joyed to be here. Each day as Ted walks , he is gaining strength . Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
Yay for being home! Everyone feels better at home. That’s interesting about leftovers. I have been told no cafeterias and no salad bars, probably for similar reasons.ReplyDelete
Ted looks so well. I am sure that he’ll gain strength as he does his thing around the house. Do they make him go for physical therapy? I watch all the folks in the gym and they are all busy doing this or that thing to build strength. The guy climbing the walls was very interesting. Ongoing prayers for total restoration to excellent health. Goodness your daughter looks so much like you!
Vee, You are right about the things of no eating out or no fresh fruits or veggies. He can have canned things or frozen. I think it's the bacteria that can grow. We normally can fight off little things in our bodies and on them every single day...but till his certain amount of time is up...he has to give up some things. Also no plants or flowers in the house. He can bath in well water like we have but no drinking or cooking with it. So It's bottled water for some time. I have to pray that God will help me along the way...so I do not mess up.Oh yes, Liz does look like me...when I was younger people used to yell Hey Liz...I would wave so they would not think she was snooty. LOL She still laughs about that. Hope you are doing well honey. You are in my prayers. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
He's looking proud and strong.ReplyDelete
Hi Adam, He does his best to stay positive and that helps. Yesterday afternoon, we walked the drive to the mailbox and back. Maybe doing that daily will help him get his strength back to normal. Enjoy your beautiful young life my friend. I hope you and your wife take walks together. Bless you, xoxo, SusieDelete
This is wonderful news Susie...I am so very happy for you both. It's heartwarming to see and patients just recover better at home. It's a blessing. Prayers for continued good health and gaining strength!ReplyDelete
Thank you so much Betsy. Ted seems much happier here, even though it's taking him some time to get his strength. If I can get him to move a bit each day, he will get stronger. Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
I know that you are both thrilled to be home. SO happy for you. xo LauraReplyDelete
Thank you Laura. It is good to be home. I know Ted needs to be here. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Such good news! There truly is no place like HOME ☺ Love the box! My head spins at changing meds possibly weekly.....yikes! That's a lot to keep up with. Bless you!ReplyDelete
How nice of your family to be so thoughtful with the meal giving. You are blessed indeed.
Take care, Susie! Prayers continue.
Thank you so much Doris. Ted seems so much happier here. :):) I think I will have make him do things...he seems to be lacking in drive..so I feel I really need to get him going. Yes, the girls are so helpful and do show us love, which is indeed a blessing. Sending Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
Praise God and thank you, Jesus! Hallelujah for being HOME!ReplyDelete
Hi Linda, We are thrilled to be home. Ted seems happy but no energy...so as bad as I hate to , I think I need to nudge him into walking. Today and yesterday we went to the mailbox for mail. Blessings to you and LD, enjoy your time at the ranch. Blessings, love you, xoxo, SusieDelete
Yay!! I am continuing to pray. Yippee you are home.ReplyDelete
Thank you Carla...it is so good to be home. Things are tough but home makes it a bit easier. Tomorrow is Ted's appt...hoping for more good news. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
So glad y'all are home. Ted looks good Susie. He and you both are in my weekly prayers. Thank the Lord for food in the freezer. It sure comes in handy at a last minute's notice doesn't it? Your daughter is just beautiful! Hugs and blessings to you and Ted. CindyReplyDelete
Thank you so much Cindy. Every prayer for us is a gift of caring friendship, and we are grateful. Oh thinking of "what to eat" is a chore in itself at times. LOL My daughter Liz is a breast cancer survivor , I always thank God for His mercy. Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
I know you love having him at home...and being at home with him! Tell him to take it slow! lol You too! Get some of that much needed rest now. We love you and keep you in our prayers every day! Hugs, DianeReplyDelete
Thank you Diane. It is so good to have all those prayers being sent up for Ted and I. Today is his dr's appt. Hoping for continued good reports. Blessings to you and Ron. Love you, xoxo, SusieDelete
The smile on your Ted's face is just beautiful! Oh I'm so glad you got to come home and that the bone marrow transplant went well. I can't even begin to imagine how overwhelmed you must sometime feel by all there is to remember but I know that God's grace is there every minute helping you to continue to take such good care of your sweetheart.ReplyDelete
That darling box does say it all, how good home is! And what a wonderful family you have, everyone wanting to help in so many ways.
Lots of love going on in your amazing family. Love to you, Susie!
Dewena, We are so thankful for the prayers and all the good wishes from everyone. It's helping us so much. I have loved seeing my daughters come to say hello and visit. No little ones around just yet. That was one warning in the books ...children carry lots of germs. LOL Things that normally are just shrugged off are dangerous to Ted at this time. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, SusieDelete
I'm very happy to hear the good report and see that you are back home. How nice of your daughters to bring in the yummy food. Hope the appt goes well tomorrow.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much Karen. We are ever so thankful for your prayers and well wishes. You know the power of many prayers is helping.Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
You guys have been through so much! But isn't God so wonderful to give us loving and supportive family. I hope Ted continues to gain strength. Prayers for you both.ReplyDelete
Thank you so much Judy. We had an appt at the clinic today and Ted's lab numbers were within the normal range...execpt his hemoglobin but it is better. God is good. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Suzie, I don't even have the words to express how happy it makes me feel to see Ted's huge smile and to know that you are both home again. You are in my prayers . . . here's to every single day being better than the one before it. God bless you both.ReplyDelete
Thank you Connie. I hold you and Steve in my prayers also. We need to always pray for one another. God hears our prayers. Today we had an appt. The dr said Ted's labs showed his counts are in the normal range. The hemoglobin is a bit low but better. So thankful. Blessings to you and Steve, stay strong together. Blessings, xoxo, love SusieDelete
That's very good news, Susie. I'm incredibly happy for you. What a smile that is. (And I love your meds box!) Keep it up!ReplyDelete
Thank you Jeanie. God is good to us...he hears everyone's prayers being said for us. I am so grateful. You are in my praters also. Blessings to you and your loved ones, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie, I'm so glad Ted is home now. And that box is perfect that you got at the dollar store for his medication. I will have to see if they have one at our store. It's only about a mile down the road. So nice of your daughters to prepare meals for him, and the lasagna and banana bread sounds delicious. I love banana bread, YUM. I bet it felt so good to be home and look out at your yard, and your purple clematis is beautiful. Your mom would love that color. I love that picture of your tree with the white blossoms that have fallen to the ground. Still saying prayers for both of you. In fact, I just said one before I came over here.ReplyDelete
It's getting pretty hot here, and just trying to stay cool. Sending you a big hug, Susie, and you're right, there's no place like home. : )
Hi Sheri, I have missed visiting your blog. I do love seeing your little grandgirls photos. Sheri, I am so grateful for the prayers. Ted knows they are helping. I have told him of everyone's prayers and well wishes from our blog family. He really likes to hear that. Yes, honey it was heaven to come into this house and relax. I am going to post again today about Ted's appt yesterday. Blessings to you and yours, love you, xoxo, SusieDelete
