Better Days....

Ted and I are home. We got to come home on Friday afternoon, right after Ted's doctor's appointment.  His  next appointment will be this Wednesday.  His lab numbers were decent and the doctor thought he was ahead of everything by a week, that's great.
I went to the local dollar store and picked up this cute box that says it all, right on top.
It holds all of Ted's meds now. The drs say his meds will change weekly or monthly.
This is what our dining table looks like till I can get more organized. To think I truly used to be a very well organized person...not anymore. Yikes.
My daughters have come to visit this weekend and each has brought food items for us. Today Liz brought an awesome lasagna. We divided it into small containers to freeze. As Ted can not eat left overs that would be older than one day.  He has had banana bread, his favorite from Karen (Liz's twin) Ted is doing well with his meds and his eating...but lacks energy. He is starting to walk around the house on the inside , just to get a bit of exercise. That's a start.
The catalpa tree has bloomed and is dropping it's blossoms like snow.
The clematis has bloomed also and looking very pretty.
Even the honeysuckle has started to grow again.  thought it had died out last year.  It's been raining the past two days and now this afternoon the skies are clearing. Looks  pretty with all the trees leafed out and everything so green.
I want to thank all of you for your good wishes and prayers for us. We are thankful to all. May you each be blessed. XO

    1. Thank you so much BJ. Our dining table is a mini pharmacy. LOL. It's meds for fighting fungus, virial infections, anti-rejection meds, heart meds. I fear the chemo has hurt Ted's heart. I am hoping as long as he can take a walk each day he can build up to more energy. Thank you so very much for the prayers...they sure are helping us. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie

  4. I also love Ted's great big smile! So glad to see it. You don't worry one little bit about your table, you do what you need to do and that is IT! :-)
My Dad had a catalpa tree, he called it a "worm tree", because of the moths and worms that come off of it? Oh, heck, I can't remember, I did a post about it once, I will have to look it up! Yes, I am a nut but I mean well. Take care, both of you!xxx

    1. Kay, Thank you for the kind words. I know no one really cares about how one has to make do in troubled times. But it bothers me at times.
There's male catalpa trees and they get the worms...which are good to use as fish bait. LOL. At least I think that's right..You know I will look that up later. LOL. Take care and hope the sun is shining for you. Our skies cleared up. hooray. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Oh sweet Susie, you touch my heart. It was so good to step into our own home...even though it smell like it had been shut up for some time. Ted said his old recliner felt like it was hugging his bottom. I had to laugh about that. That old recliner is just about completely broke down from him and Emma wallowing in it. LOL. We miss our Emma Pooh, she grew up . Thank you for the prayers and good wishes. Blessings to you my dear friend, love you, xoxo, Susie

  12. Yay for being home! Everyone feels better at home. That’s interesting about leftovers. I have been told no cafeterias and no salad bars, probably for similar reasons.

Ted looks so well. I am sure that he’ll gain strength as he does his thing around the house. Do they make him go for physical therapy? I watch all the folks in the gym and they are all busy doing this or that thing to build strength. The guy climbing the walls was very interesting. Ongoing prayers for total restoration to excellent health. Goodness your daughter looks so much like you!

    1. Vee, You are right about the things of no eating out or no fresh fruits or veggies. He can have canned things or frozen. I think it's the bacteria that can grow. We normally can fight off little things in our bodies and on them every single day...but till his certain amount of time is up...he has to give up some things. Also no plants or flowers in the house. He can bath in well water like we have but no drinking or cooking with it. So It's bottled water for some time. I have to pray that God will help me along the way...so I do not mess up.Oh yes, Liz does look like me...when I was younger people used to yell Hey Liz...I would wave so they would not think she was snooty. LOL She still laughs about that. Hope you are doing well honey. You are in my prayers. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  26. Susie, I'm so glad Ted is home now. And that box is perfect that you got at the dollar store for his medication. I will have to see if they have one at our store. It's only about a mile down the road. So nice of your daughters to prepare meals for him, and the lasagna and banana bread sounds delicious. I love banana bread, YUM. I bet it felt so good to be home and look out at your yard, and your purple clematis is beautiful. Your mom would love that color. I love that picture of your tree with the white blossoms that have fallen to the ground. Still saying prayers for both of you. In fact, I just said one before I came over here.

It's getting pretty hot here, and just trying to stay cool. Sending you a big hug, Susie, and you're right, there's no place like home. : )
