Still showing old photos for a few weeks, till my grandson can get here. Ted had a Dr's appointment yesterday at the Bone Marrow clinic. He got good news from the dr. His hemoglobin was 11, higher than it's been since Ted's was diagnosed . He says he feels great, although I can tell his energy is still low. This could be from the maintenance chemo. .
We will celebrate Ted's birthday this week. He is happy to be celebrating. Will want to eat at Red Lobster, one of his favorite places. Yes, he will ask for extra biscuits to bring home. LOL The dr told him the medicines will change up as his 100 day mark arrives. Twenty-four more days. I ask about the significance of the 100 day mark, the dr said well if we are going to lose someone it will usually be in the first 30 to 60 days...and we have found that 100 days is a good place to get to . Ted's blood pressure goes up and down some what. I take it twice a day. That will change when he is off some of the meds. Thank goodness.
Hope all of you are enjoying summer. We have had the hot days, rain, sunshine.....and more rain coming our way from Barry (hurricane). Bless you. XO
Thinking of you always---lost e-mail and blog paths and so have been out of touch. When I saw my name by "comment" I think it means your blog must recognize me. All the best and hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of days more in Ted's improving and improving. r
ReplyDeleteThank you Racheld. I lost my email and addresses and almost all my photos when the Geek Squad put in a new hard drive. I do not know how they did it but it cost me plenty. I will have my grandson work on it for me. Thank you for the good health wishes, we truly appreciate them. They are helping us thru this. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteAll those good reports from the dr. must make both of you feel pretty reassured. Thinking of you and hope Red Lobster is fantastic! -Jenn
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Jenn. I was the happiest yesterday that I have been since Ted was first diagnosed. Reassured that good health is so near for him. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
Deleteoh I can relate to the story about HB level. Had mine checked last month and it was 13! (it was always 7-8 before)
ReplyDeleteThe normal for hemoglobin it 13 to 17. When Ted's was at 5.5 ...the hemotologist said if he had crashed they may not have been able to revive him. I hope you keep you higher reading honey. It will keep your energy level up. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI wish Ted a very happy birthday and a year ahead full of God's blessings! It is such good news to hear that he says he feels great.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dewena. I am thrilled to have Ted say he feels good. I will tell him what you wished for him. You are so kind. Blessings , xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh wonderful...a birthday at Red Lobster and those yummy biscuits... Sounds like good news all around. Praying that the tweaks to meds serve Ted well and that he feels stronger each day. Pleasant summer days to you both...
ReplyDeleteThank you Vee. We have had rain this evening on and off. The forecast is for really high heat index for a few days. I will tell Ted of your birthday wishes. He will enjoy his time out. I worry some times about his meds...as he needs for the drs to remember he needs some heart meds. all the time. Blessings to you honey, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHappy birthday to Ted! Such good news on his health and here's hoping he improves each day.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Kathy. I am so grateful to all of you beautiful people who have prayed and sent well wishes to him. To both of us. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHappy Birthday to Ted! So nice you can go out to Red Lobster and do more ordinary things! I actually went to Red Lobster last week celebrating my grandson's 17th...and my 65th!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I find it hard to believe you have a 17 year old grandson. LOL. I love seeing Ted eat those biscuits, he will say "Oh Yum" at the very first bite. LOL It is good to celebrate his birthday as if we had normal lives again. :) Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHallelujah for that great report! So happy for him and getting ready to celebrate a birthday! Wonderful news, Susie, and I know that makes you all happy. Jay loves Red Lobster, too and I love those biscuits. Actually, Ted's hemoglobin is better than mine, so it must be from the chemo! Happy Birthday wishes to Ted!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Nonnie. It is good to be able to do some things that we used to do . Like go eat out and celebrate. I was so happy on Monday. I am grateful to you and all my other blog family members who have sent up prayers and sent us well wishes. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHappy Birthday to Ted! I'm so glad to hear he's feeling better, Susie. Oh, he will love going to Red Lobster for his birthday. I haven't been there in so long, and the food is really good. I'm glad you're getting some rain. I hope you don't get any floods. Susie, these daisies remind me of my mom. I really love this picture. Yes, be sure to bring home some of those famous Red Lobster biscuits. You and Ted will appreciate them for later. : )
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
I hate to waste food Sheri. So we do warm those biscuit up and eat them with anything I may fix for our lunch or lite supper. It's been the best feeling to know Ted is getting better and even if it's a tiny bit each day it is going in the right direction. He's been getting cards and well wishes this week and that made him smile. Blessings to you my sweet friend, xoxo, love you, Susie
DeleteGlad Ted is feeling better and his hgb is rising. Have a great week.

ReplyDeleteThank you sweet Pilar. I need to start getting my blog files fixed to find my friends that I visit often back. Ted is doing better each day. Not like his old self but more energy. Hope you are doing great and enjoying some summer days...those that aren't rainy or way too hot. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeletePraying every day for you both! I am so looking forward to y'all getting back to normal life. You are amazing, Susie. So is Ted. We may have to make a road trip to come and see y'all so we can hug and kiss and cry together once this part of the journey is done! Love you both!
ReplyDeleteLinda, I am so happy about Ted's good report on Monday. He got his , hopefully last script of Prevymis. Anti rejection. It's 28 tablets at $7,000 yes, that's seven thousand dollars . Thank the heavens we have insurance. I cried when I first picked it up, because of thinking about people who do not have insurance to cover most of that cost. Medicine and medical need prices, are the worst of greed.
DeleteI do think one day we will meet. Even If ted and I have to come to Texas. LOL. Thank you for those wonderful prayers that have helped us thru to this point. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie
Celebrate Ted's b'day with extra biscuits at Red Lobster and YES to 100 day celebration. Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteThank you Theresa. I have been happy these past two or three days. Ted is showing good signs of getting his energy. can take his showers and dry in the bathroom and no have to lay on towels on the bed. Oh my gosh that man loves Red Lobster. :) Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLoving those flowers! So very pretty. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteThank you Cindy. We are grateful for the prayers and good wishes. It is surely helping us both. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteMy mom always took home those extra biscuits. I hope he enjoys every last one of them. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteLaura, If you saw this man eating those biscuits you would think he'd never had anything good to eat before. I have to laugh at him. Thankful he is feeling so good and enjoying some of life again. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHappy Birthday Ted! I do hope that the worst of your journey is over and that life will get back to a closer to normal life very soon. Even if life becomes normal again it will not be the same . . . we learn through this journey. I know that our faith has grown, we have surrendered more to the Lord and He has enriched our faith. So, even when times are bad, the Lord can work good into them. I am so happy for the two of you. I know that you are both worn out . . . rest and joy is needed, I wish you a bounty of both. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteConnie :)
Thank you Connie. I hold you and Steve in my prayers. I feel you are right about lives changing. I have seen God's love in the darkest of times during this journey. When Ted spiked a fever of 105.9 and the drs iced him down and saved his live. When he had his second round of chemo and had c-def. , once again God saved Ted. That is prove of the power of prayer. God hears those prayers. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes for Ted and I. We appreciate you Connie. Blessings and hugs to you and Steve. Love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteGood news for Ted -- and Happy Birthday for him! That's a present one can't open with a bow but it's bigger than any box on the present pile! (By the way, have you had the Red Lobster biscuits you can bake from a box? I get them all the time. Not QUITE as good as having them served to you but pretty darned good for a box mix!)
ReplyDeleteJeanie, I don't know if I want Ted to know those biscuits come in a box. LOL. Yes, he was so happy on his birthday , got so many good wishes and cards. So thankful God let us celebrate. His 100th day marker is nearing and I will truly rejoice when it's here. Blessings to you and your sweetheart. xoxo, Susie
