I saw this butterfly in our pine trees....so I go in and get my camera. You know as soon as I tried to get his photo he flies off to the ditch across the road. I chase after him . Got a good shot.
By now the camera lens is foggy over from the humidity.
I wipe the lens and get one more good picture. What a beauty. I smile every time I see a butterfly.
This is Tuesday 's sunset. We've been busy around here. Found time for a bit of fun. Ate lunch out yesterday. Today we have a couple runs to do. I have a mission...haul things to goodwill stores and then go inside and look around. :):)
Wishing all of you a great day. XO
I love butterflies but don't see many in my current world. Glad to know they're still around.ReplyDelete
Linda, I love chasing them for pictures but would not catch one...I tried to catch many as a child. Now I know their lives are short and they need to be free. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
LOL- glad to know I am not the only nut that chases butterflies! I can see you ditch hopping. We would really make fine neighbors. Good luck at Goodwill (we call it GW Boutique here). Hoping you take more in than you walk out with. I have problems with that, you know. Have a great weekend and hang in there- the weather channel says that cooler is coming and some rain. Maybe 2 inches even- we so need it. Hugs.ReplyDelete
Tete, You made me laugh about the goodwill...my mom used to call it Goodies, and she loved that place. We got 1/4 inch rain and the town 5 miles away got over and inch of rain last night. We are to have more...I am hoping so. Ted and I talk this morning about taking a few bags every week to the Goodwill. Feels so good to be rid of stuff. I spent 6 dollars. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
p.s. wish we were neighbors.:)
I love your butterflies and sunsets! I took a picture of a butterfly the other day and the kids told me it was a moth! I still don't believe them. It's funny how we take stuff in and carry out more stuff. I think next week Texas might get back into the 90's with some rain. I am hoping.ReplyDelete
Nonnie, I love butterflies...but think moths have pretty markings too. I took lots more into the goodwill than I bought. LOL. We are going to try to take a few bags every time we go to Kokomo ...it feels great to get rid of things. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh, you make me laugh, Susie. At least when you shop at Good Will, you donate things also. That butterfly is so pretty. I can see why you were chasing it trying to get a picture. And your sunset pictures are spectacular!ReplyDelete
Have a good rest of the week, dear.
Sheri, I need to pack up bags every week. Honestly I think I could fill one of the u-hauls. LOL. I just hope I don't go thru my closets looking for something I have given away.LOL. That would just make me nuts. :):)Thanks for always liking my sunsets. Blessings to you, love, xoxo, SusieDelete
I cleaned out another two boxes of stuff from my basement this week! keep it up Mom. love you.ReplyDelete
Kathy, I am so proud of you. Ted had two bags and I had three, plus a bag of books.:) I'll post what I bought tomorrow. LOL. I spent 6 dollars. Ted bought candles to make fire starters. :) We are enjoying our time together again. Love you sweetheart, Mommy.Delete
So lovely, Susie! Looks like a yellow swallowtail! We had one visit yesterday!ReplyDelete
Linda, I have only seen one Monarch butterfly out here this summer. I see lots of little yellow and white ones. I just love to watch them.Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I was told at the Butterfly Farm in Aruba, that if a butterfly lands on you, it means you have a guardian angel, Susie!...:)JPReplyDelete
Oh JP...they never land on me...only those sweat bees like me. :(:(I must be some kind of salty snack. LOL. I always extend my hand to the butterflies just to see if one will land on me. .Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Absolutely beautiful photos!!ReplyDelete
Hi Debbie, Thank you. I do enjoy butterflies...just wish we had more. I have only seen one Monarch this year. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi Susie! Oh, thank you for popping in to see me and I would love to see your daughter's kitchen! I do love me some yard birds!ReplyDelete
Be a sweetie,
Hi Shelia, My daughter has real yard birds too. She is the one with Samson the big bossy rooster. I'll try to get some pictures of her chicken things. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Well I had a comment ready to go but couldn't get it to post. Who knows why! I think it's funny about Good Will. You do like I used to do. Drop off and shop!
I feel for you with your tooth situation. I have a situation with a sensitive tooth too. I've been to the endodontist twice, and just went to my dentist Monday morning because that tooth hurt for three days last week. Nothing wrong! And btw, I was told x-rays do not show cracks in teeth. I am always in tooth pain it seems.
Have a nice evening.
Cindy, I knew there had to people out there that understood my tooth situation. It's getting to be a big pain...to the point I am thinking of having a root canal in every tooth in my head. LOL. But then again...I think that molar root canal might have been the true problem all along. I am just tired of it. I hope you got some good results from your last visit to the dentist. Some times the G.W. doesn't have much to choose from.Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Love the photos of the Eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly! That is our state butterfly in Georgia. Do you know what your state butterfly is? Hey, it might be the same one! xxReplyDelete
Kay, I liked learning that my butterfly pic is your state butterfly... I look our up on line...there were many photos ..but a story of a group of second graders in Lafayette, Indiana want to firefly to be our state incest...I guess we do not have one. I love the little mating dance of the butterflies...it looks like all it needs is music. :) Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I love butterflies too. You got some great pics. What would I do without goodwill and yard sales?! Have fun. Thanks for your kind words at my blog.ReplyDelete
Karen, I do not get to shop yard sales so much...but I do enjoy them. I wish there had been Goodwills when we were kids. It sure would have helped mom clothe us kids. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Wow! Great photos of the butterfly! I miss seeing them and getting photos of them! We are do dry, there isn't much for them to hover on-sad Love your sunset shot!ReplyDelete
Gert, The clover in the ditch must be more appealing than my flowers. LOL. That's where I get the butterfly photos. This year some of my flowers didn't bloom...like my hydrangea. The neighbor's lilac didn't she even had an oriental lilac ..she said he didn't bloom the last two years. Maybe we need more butterflies and bees. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Chasing butterflies is a very creative way to exercise!!! Loved seeing your pics!ReplyDelete
Linda, I might have to start chasing Ted.LOL. He told an old friend yesterday that I can't run as fast as I used too. The friend ask me if that was so...I said I can run fast if a big dog is chasing me. :):)Hope everyone is doing well there. Hug all for me. Love you, xoxo, SusieDelete
These are such great snaps, Susie! I'm getting more butterflies with the new plants in my garden, too!ReplyDelete
Blondie, I am so happy that you are getting butterflies...they are helpers in pollination too. I like our bees around here also. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
