Yesterday was a good old ho hum day. No deadlines, no doctor or dental appointments, and no grocery shopping. Nothing but what we wanted to do. So Ted worked in the shop and I cleaned house. (you know like I wanted to do that.)LOL
Ted rebuilt the sunflower seed feeder for the birds. I sorted and cleaned kitchen drawers....and actually found the set of keys I had spent a week trying to find. Happy about that.
I watered my plants, gee they are looking a bit scraggly. I tied this one with some twine. LOL
The sedum looks nice and nothing was on it yesterday. Now I wonder why not.
Late in the evening , we took a drive around a couple country blocks. This is our shop/garage. It was too cloudy to get sunset photos . I did not get to see the full moon till this morning .
It was nice to relax a bit yesterday. Today will be more sorting and hopefully bagging up things to give away. Soon I will be passing my tools over to my grandson , Skylar. That's the set of keys I found. They were for my tool cart and Kennedy toolbox. I plan on doing a post on Labor Day about the career I had before retiring.
Wishing all a sweet Friday, enjoy the weekend. XO
Susie, your garden is looking good!ReplyDelete
Sylvia, I love when I have flowers to brighten things up here. I hope they last till winter. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Plants get sorta scraggly this time of year...Maybe fall is just around the corner..I hope, I hope...ReplyDelete
Missy, It sure seems to be feeling like fall could be very near. I saw some corn looking brown on the bottom of the stalks. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Sounds like a nice day. I have been busy cleaning freezers out since we have 2 pigs and a cow being butchered. Time to eliminate the old stuff.ReplyDelete
Carol, Now that is a job...cleaning freezers out. That's as bad as a closet. LOL. Hope there's no shoes in there. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Love those days, sometimes!ReplyDelete
Laurie, I think we need plain old days of puttering. We all certainly chase our own tails at times. LOL> Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Those are the very best kind of days! I was reading in my journal from 2015 and discovered that LD and I took 3 weeks 'off' last August to piddle around and do things without an agenda. Looks like that is happening this August as well.ReplyDelete
I am looking forward to hearing about your life before retirement!
Linda, Ted and I are getting rid of junk and things that don't fit or we will never want to wear again. LOL. Planning out the new back porch we are going to be building some. I will be digging some post holes. I do it because I want to as long as I can. LOL. Glad you two are relaxing for a while ...especially if it's so hot out. Bless you, love you guys, xoxo, SusieDelete

Susie, sometimes those days are the best days of all. I'm looking forward to seeing the career you had before retiring. Knowing you, there's so many things you could do.ReplyDelete
Have a fantastic weekend, Susie.
Hi Sheri, You must have double clicked .LOL. You may be surprised of my career. I have had a few...fillers careers is what I called some of them. LOL. Blessings, love, xoxo, SusieDelete
Beautiful photos.... I wish we could get some rain so we could have green lawns once again!ReplyDelete
Hi Cheryl, I hope you guys do get rain. That rain that came thru was scary at times...but boy it sure helped our lawn...it looks greener today. Blessings to you, xoxo, SusieDelete
Sorting through things, whether giving them away, or selling them, is bittersweet, I found...:)JPReplyDelete
JP, You are right. If I go thru old cards and letters or pictures...I can not linger...it makes me cry.. Going thru clothes has been hard for years...but all of a sudden I am ready to let go of stuff. It's feels really good...since I can see the floor in my closet. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Love seeing life from your home. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.ReplyDelete
Thank you Noreen. I like to see your neighborhood too. It's like we travel thru each others' photos. Wishing you a great weekend. xoxo, SusieDelete
What a nice building! You are pasing on your tools, eh? What a novel concept.ReplyDelete
Vee, The tools I had in my career are no longer needed by me. My grandson is growing into a hard working young man and he will appreciate them. Boy we can gather a ton of things we never will need or use or wear....I've been cleaning closets and donating.:) Blessings to you hope you are doing well. xoxo, SusieDelete
Sometimes it's nice to have a ho hum kind of day to find missing items and such! So glad you are safe. I have seen that tornado that was in your area on facebook! Scary!ReplyDelete
Cindy, This has been one hot summer and it's hard to enjoy it at times. That was a scary wall cloud and all those little funnel things dipping here and there...spooky. Cindy, I have been cleaning and it's finally click in to just let things go...to unload and get out from under the weight of "things". Well you must know....since you just moved a couple years ago. Hope your Shug is back to himself and you are doing well. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I love your garden, Susie, and days like these. I've been sick as a dog and I hate summer colds. The weather is getting cooler and I want to plant some perennials...I have to get moving.ReplyDelete
Blondie, I am so sorry you do not feel well...Colds are bad enough in winter, but worse in summer. Hope you are feeling well soon. Yesterday evening it was 74 degrees and so pleasant. I wish every summer day could be like that. We have a threat of raining again. Hoping and praying not on Wed. as I re-scheduled the bugman for them from last Wed. I dreamt of those ant last night for crying out loud. LOL.I'll be demented by the time this is over. Blessings sweet girl, xoxo, SusieDelete
It seems everyone (me included) are going through things and letting things go. I just see myself getting older and not needing so much. I love your garden. Mine is green, but the heat has killed just about all the flowers.ReplyDelete
Kathy, I am wondering why I held onto so much for so long....I think for the very reason I bought so much...from being a poor child growing up and not having much. Yes, tending to flowers is work now...too much sun not enough rain ...or too much rain and not enough sun. LOL Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh wow! I love your shop!ReplyDelete
I wish it were "my" shop Bonnie. I am lucky to squeeze in there some times. I do have a wall for hanging things and spot for my car...but Ted has totally taken over with his tools and wood working equipment. I do not even have the shed...he trades out his generator, lawn mower and log splitter from the shed to the lean to on the shop. The golf cart and trailer stay in the lean to. We are to make me a shed soon. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I so enjoy the "do-nothing" kind of days :)ReplyDelete
I am intrigued as to what kind of work you did or still do, can't wait for your Labor Day post now :)
Fantastic shop, all that room !
Hugs to you sweet lady,
Thank you Jo, for the hugs. :):) Ted is master of that shop. LOL. I had to take all my crafting and art things to the basement....and it is not up lifting to work there....so I bring things upstairs every so often. Hope you are enjoying your weekend. We got more rain this afternoon. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Your garden is looking wonderful, sweet Susie! And I love that wall hanging in the first photo - lovely!!ReplyDelete
That rusty piece is hanging next to the pond on the west side of the shop. It was not so rusty when I first bought it....but I love the look of it now. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Love days like these and I'm actually looking forward to cleaning up those kitchen drawers, the linen closet and another closet filled with winter things---to pare down.ReplyDelete
Your garden looks perfect We are due for better temps so I'm off t the garden centers to grab up cheap perennials and get them in while it's not sweltering!! :-D
Blondie, I cleaned out the drawers and pretty much put the same stuff back into them. LOL. But I did find my keys. I need a very new perennials too. We are going to be redoing the back fence area ...completely, so I am not so worried about it. This morning is about 60 degrees and feels so nice. Don't work too hard in the gardens. Bless you, xoxo, SusieDelete
Good morning Susie... YOur plants look much better than mine. That was a good word for it...scraggly..smile* I love a break too...just a day when we can do just about anything or nothing...whoops maybe that sounds like most of my days..lolReplyDelete
Have a wonderful week!
Sounds like a winner to me. i love those kind of days and sadly, they are few and far between here. hope you've had a nice weekend as well. Love and Hugs, xoReplyDelete
Those plants don't look scraggly to me! They look great.ReplyDelete
And....I can only dream of a day without some kind of appointment that doesn't have "M.D. " behind it. (Smile)
You have a lovely shop and garage area. Very nice....
