Oh Sweet Summertime.....
I look a bit later and he has drilled clean across the big step....why?? So I say, STOP ! LOL Let's think about this..Can't we just build over the step?? That step is big-heavy and not going anywhere. So that's the plan. Saved Ted a ton of work. Some times you have to work smarter not harder. he-he
We wrote down all the measurements and made a list for supplies. So soon there will be a deck back there. We are good at working together. I will get photos of the progress. Today we are waiting for the bug man to do their follow up treatment of the ants we had in April. Isn't waiting for serve people so much fun? Not !
Wishing all a great day. Please hold those in need, in your prayers and thoughts. XO

A new deck! I know it will be wonderful for you! Looking forward to seeing the progress!ReplyDelete
Linda, The deck will be big enough for a bench or chairs...but I love sitting out front, so I probably won't sit out there. It will feel good to work again. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I am laughing because I do believe that is a man thing to jump right in on something. Once I mentioned that it would be neat to think about a room over the garage. I came home that night and he had knocked out a wall to make a staircase!!! Crazy! He ended up building a bookcase instead because the engineer we hired said our foundation wouldn't support a room. Now my way is to think things through before mentioning it. Love your cloud photo.ReplyDelete
OMG Nonnie..That could have been scary. I watch those flip shows on housing...every time I think, Is that a load bearing wall?? I am amazed at how people just tear right into a project without having things checked out. Oh we have a book case, that is like a big shadow box...it is where the plumbing to the bathtub is in the wall. So if need be we just unscrew the bookcase and pull it out for access. My idea, the door to it originally was about 14 inches by 14 inches...way too small to really work on things. Blessing to another smart woman. !!! LOL. xoxo, SusieDelete
All the best with the deck and I am glad you are having days with good temperatures ♥ReplyDelete
Hi Summer, these past few days are heavenly...my kind of summer honey. Blessings to you for a great Wednesday. xoxo, SusieDelete
There's always so much to do! Thank goodness that we have husbands that like to work! Love those puffy clouds! Hugs!ReplyDelete
Diane, I am thankful for my hard working man...although I pick on him once in a while. I tell him it's my job and he says I very good at it. LOL. This porch/deck will be done in a couple weeks or so. :) Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie, you have really been accomplishing a lot. Try to stay cool and your deck will be wonderful..Happy Wednesday..JudyReplyDelete
Thanks Judy. We need this deck to put the wood box on...that way no muddy ground to deal with . Hope you guys are doing well there. I loved the drawing of your house. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Hi, Susie! Send that handy man our way! We need a porch for our back entryway!! XO NellieReplyDelete
Nellie, I don't now why we never made a deck back there when we made the one in front. The big concrete step must have served us well. We bring a big wood box to the back door thru the winter months and this will be nice to have it on the deck. Oh yes, we will be putting in reinforcements in that corner. As I am sure that wood box will be heavy when full. It's nice to have a handy man, willing to work. We both try to stay strong by working. Cheaper than a gym. LOL. Hope you are doing well. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I'm getting ready to have a small deck built with almost the small situation as you - over concrete steps that are not level. Good luck - am anxious to see your progress.ReplyDelete
Judy...so much can happen in such a short time. We planned on getting our supplies on Friday and now a tornado has strck the town of Kokomo where we shop the Lowe's and Menard stores. We will have to wait for a bit. Pray for our state...it's scary. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Love the blue skies and puffy clouds. Every woman needs a husband that will jump in with both feet, but they do need supervision sometimes.ReplyDelete
laurie, You are so right. Lots of supervision. :):). I do like that Ted will work with me to get things done here. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I love it that you and your man work together on projects. Sounds like what hubby and I used to do-now he doesn't want to do many projects. Can't wait to see your project once it's completed.ReplyDelete
Noreen, Ted and I have always done well together. I tell him he needs supervision lots of it. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
That would have been my plan..Why remove the concrete?? Gonna hide it anyway..Good thinking Susie..ReplyDelete
Missy, When we did the deck/porch up front we built right over the apron of the old garage area and the drive way. We just made sure there was extra supports , all along the expanse. Blessings for agreat day there. xoxo, SusieDelete
A new deck!!! That is awesome!ReplyDelete
I am also glad to see that you were not in the way of that tornado this evening. Scary weather!
Honey, it was a bit scary for awhile...with two tornados so close together going east just north of our area...and to worry for our neighboring towns, was somewhat stressful. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Good luck on your deck!ReplyDelete
And you are right, so many to pray for, the pictures of flooding, wildfires, bombings and earthquakes. We need to pray very hard.
I am praying for someone who has just started chemo for his cancer, my heart goes out to him. xx
Kay, I hardly had time to worry about Italy and continue to pray for La. till I was in the basement praying for family, friends and our neighboring towns....from all the tornado warnings. I am blessed...xoxo, SusieDelete
You are a smart gal! Hope that your darling knows this. =DReplyDelete
Vee, I have to keep reminding my man how lucky he is. LOL. We are best friends and that is how we treat each other. It works for us. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Looking forward to seeing your new deck. I know it will be fabulous. Go Ted!!!!ReplyDelete
Kris, Our deck will be put on hold for a bit...the tornados has torn up some of Kokomo , where we buy supplies....so we are waiting. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Praying you are ok- just checked the map- you are pretty close to Kokomo. Stay safe and hope you have power.ReplyDelete
Yes Tete we live 20 miles south of Kokomo. We did well ...but were in the basement twice. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Loving the last of summer as you are--except, let us know if those tornadoes were near you.ReplyDelete
Can't wait to see the new deck!
Blondie, The tornado tore up parts of Kokomo....twenty miles from here. The weather sure went from wonderful to scary in a short time . More rain coming in later today. We were blessed...no damage for us or our children. But I worry for our neighboring towns. Bless you, xoxo, SusieDelete
I can't wait to see the new deck, Susie. Now, this is in the back area, right? Oh, those white, fluffy clouds are so pretty. No clouds around here, just blue skies and warm days. There has been a nip in the air in the early mornings though, telling me that Fall is on its way. :)ReplyDelete
sheri, after the tornadoes in Kokomo we have to put the deck on hold...as we do not want to be in the way going to Menard's or Lowe's for lumber and supplies. That's where we shop in Kokomo. Yes, I was just loving all the beautiful weather we were having. Hope you are enjoying your outings there. Blessings, love, xoxo, SusieDelete
Sounds like you both work hard and enjoy each moment of it.ReplyDelete
I look forward to seeing photos of the deck in progress.
My hubby and I work together and play together. That's what love is.
Sending you hugs,
