The wee rose bush that I hold in trust for my daughter Kathy ( given to her by her son)....bless this rose bush, it bloomed a nice rose this weekend. I have almost lost this rose bush a few times.
The spirea bushes have filled out and look nice .
The skies looked like this, almost the entire weekend. But it did cloud up yesterday late afternoon and rained hard. The wind blew our flag pole over. It had broken off at the ground. So that is one of Ted's projects today...mending it. The wind wasn't that hard but after so many bad windy days it caught up to us. Right before it rained, I had been pulling weeds in the flag pole flowerbed. LOL
I have been meaning to show this little announcement of Luke's birth. Lynzie and Mark sent these out to family and friends. The card reads..Peace is knowing God is here. Inside says, May God our father shower you with blessings and fill you with his grace. ( Colossians 1:2 ) It was a hand written thank you from Mark and Lynzie for our baby gifts to Luke. Lynzie is so good about sending thank you notes. Yes, hand written too. Love that.
Looks like you had a great weekend! Such a cute baby :)! Blessings my friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you honey...that's our new great grandson Luke. Hope your mother is doing better. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat a handsome sweet baby!! Your rose is lovely - no buds yet here, but I think the roses are starting to think about budding!
ReplyDeleteDebbie, I read about the rose bushes you have there. I have some by the fence that have not budded either. At leasy every year this Rose of my daughter's will have a few blooms. I always send Kathy a picture of them. Thank you, I think our Luke is a cute one. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThe spirea bushes are pretty and so is the sweet rose bush. Little Luke certainly looks at peace in that picture. He's a cutie. I really like the thank you cards and what a great name they chose for him!
ReplyDeleteNonnie, Luke is a sweet baby. After I have time with the babies, I just miss them more. :):) I love when the flowers are blooming here. I do not have an abundance, but love what is here...I just do not have the energy to garden like I used too. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLittle Luke is a cutie..Spirea is one of those shrubs that gets crazy big..Cute little rose bush..it looks happy now..Cloudy here all week..90 on this coming weekend..Yuk!!
ReplyDeleteMissy, I am thinking we may have to go see Luke soon...I miss our babies. Yesterday here was very hot. Not much breeze. We are to have abit of a cool down then into the 90's this Sunday. I don't know about most people but that is too hot for this old girl. :):) Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat beautiful baby announcements! And your flowers are all growing so well. We are having to water...hope to get some rain tomorrow! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDiane, I water the containers , cause if it's going to rain hard, I pulled the plants under the over hang. The rain can beat them down. Yes, I loved the announcement of Luke's arrival. Blessings , xoxo, Susie
DeleteI know you are enjoying the roses and spirea. What a precious photo of Luke.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I like when Ted and I drive up to our property and things look nice with flowers in bloom. Some of it's work.:):) I have a ton pf pictures of the baby on my phone and in my blog files...but it's is nice to have one to just look at when I glance toward it. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh, I love your porch flowers and that rose is gorgeous!! I miss having lots of plants, but thankful for the one I have!! Sorry to hear about your flag pole..thank goodness Ted can take care of it! Oh, that is so wonderful that the kids sent such a beautiful baby thank you. and to hand write it is truly a blessing in itself!
ReplyDeleteGert
Hi Gert, I sure do not have as many flowers as I used too..the rabbits make it impossible to plant in the ground. Plus I do not have so much energy any more. You know Gert, I don't ask a lot of my family, but I sure do appreciate a thank you for gifts we give them. Even email, or texts. ..Lynz always writes hers.:) Ted has that pole fixed already. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat a precious birth announcement. I do love to get them, hope that never goes completely cyber only.
DeleteI'm so glad you were not near when the flag pole broke!
Hi Dewena, I too hope not all things go to the internet. Or phones. I love snail mail. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie, So good to catch up with you. I love your petunia plant and lemon balm; hear that keeps the mosquitos away. Little Luke is so precious; what a darling announcement.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Noreen
Noreen , Lemon balm , lemon grass and about anything lemon is good for keeping mosquitoes at bay. I wish I had a ton of it. :):) I loved the announcement and the fact that Lynzie sent a hand written thank you along with it. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYour spirea bushes are so pretty, Susie. The color is really bright. Mine are a very dull light pink and don't show off as well..Happy Week to you..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteJudy, There are times when I wish I could cut the spirea out. When we planted it the tags said it was a dwarf version...but then it grew way bigger than the tags said it would. So I do not think it was dwarfs at all.:) Looking forward to seeing your summer cottage make over. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLemon have many natural beneficiaries. It is good to have one at home. All looks clean and beautiful. The little one looks cute:)
ReplyDeleteI have a list of plants that are good for driving mosquitoes away, there's a lot of lemon kinds on it. I need to shop earlier next year, plants were all picked over when I went looking. Oh yes, I am in love with our new g.grandson. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLuke's card is so precious, Susie. I like what the card reads. That is great of Lynzie to send hand written thank you notes. I love getting them in the mail. Your lawn always amazes me cause it's so green and groomed. I admire all the work that goes into making it look that way. Pulling weeds is time consuming, but I always enjoyed it when I had my garden. : )
