Use Caution....

Fire truck from Tipton to the rescue on the corner. Three young teen boys ran a stop sign and hit a lady broadside.  Three young teens hurt and the lady with a serious life threating head injury. The paper the next day did not have all the info yet. It's still being investigated. I will say the young men were coming from the west driving east, the lady was going north , coming from the south. The boy driving ran the stop sign at the most viable corner. Why??
Tuesday, around 6:00 , there were around 10 rescue vehicles on the corner of our country road. The lifeline helicopter landed on Sharpsville road (400 ) Do you know when your fans and many other things are running or on in your home , you may not hear  all this activity. It was the helicopter that made me go outside to look.
The lady was life-lined to a hospital in Indianapolis. I prayed for all involved. It's so scary.
I pray all of you will be careful this weekend.
This is the fire chief  helping the big truck back up into the neighbor's gravel drive to turn around..
There they go, our everyday heroes. Everyday !!! There was a small fire with the wreck. Earlier in the day, while we were in town , we had witnessed another rescue run. Thankfully that was not serious, as we saw the police and sheriff's depts. returning to town.
I am asking all of you to please be safe, watch children around fireworks, and some of the men folk too. You fellows know who you are.  One of my brothers was the worst.
This has nothing to do with the story of rescue....but I just wanted you to see this cute little inch worm.  I spotted him on the ornamental grasses.
He did  some stunts for me. :):)  I made Ted come out of the shop to watch him too.
Wishing everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend. Fly that U.S. flag high . XO

  1. Hi Susie, A good reminder to be careful, especially this holiday weekend. As you know our elderly neighbor lady was killed in a wreck a few weeks ago. Just a few miles from home. So sad. I pray that those in the wreck yesterday will make a recovery. Cute little worm you photographed. I wish you and yours a blessed and safe weekend. xoxo

    1. Missy, Drivers are so aggressive on the roads...or messing around and not paying attention..it is very scary, especially if you do not know the roads. That is another reason I would love to have a doctor in our town. Who wants to drive when you may not feel well. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. He's bopping along not worried about anything.
People don't seem to care about red lights, stop signs, warnings these days and not just on the road. They are out of control in everyday life. Thank the Lord for the heroes out there and I pray the people injured will be well soon. I remember a boy in high school who ran a stop sign and the lady he hit was killed. It was a shadow over him for so long. Have a blessed day, Susie.

    1. Nonnie, I had seen a program on TV about what is more dangerous for young drivers and one of the things mentioned was too many young people together, cutting up .Scary. Texting was one and talking on the phone another. They are inexperienced. I am praying for all injured and especially for the 65 yr old lady. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Jenn, Our lives can be changed in the blink of an eye. I think the youngster my have been just goofing off and not paying close enough attention in the country side. I just wish all to be safe this holiday, so much more traffic on the roads and in the waters. Plus those nasty fireworks. Some scary warning about those this week in the news. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. What a terrible thing to witness! Hope all will be okay. It is important to watch out for other drivers...drunk ones, stupid ones, distracted ones, aggressive ones...in other words, be very cautious at all times.

    1. Kay, An old friend of mine used to say there's only 6 drivers you need to watch out for...one in front of you, one behind you, one on each side of you, and the two that come out of nowhere. :):) With people be so absorbed in there own worlds , there's less pay close enough attention while driving. Scary. Be safe this weekend, bless you. xoxo, Susie

  8. Susie, that is such terrible news. I'm so sorry to hear about this today. It sounds like the firemen and the lifeline helicopter really got to the scene fast and did their job well. I will say a prayer for all of them. Thinking of you, as you live just right up the road from where this happened.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, It's scary to think they could have all died form such a wreck. I prayed as I could see the rescuers getting things done. The longer the helicopter sat in the road, the more worried I became thinking, that's no a good sign...they had to cut the lady from her car. She was 65 with a serious head injury...that is not good. But I thought about it all what with this weekend being a long holiday one....thought it might help some to be more careful on the roads. Blessings to you honey. xoxo, love Susie

  9. I have witnessed similar situations and it's all sad. There's a main highway running through here, south to Boston and north to New Hampshire and that's where most of the major accidents around here happen because of the slug slow traffic on the city streets.
I think I'm back here on Blogger on a more regular basis. I ran out of gas blogging wise. I wrote several but never published because I thought it was a whole lot of nothing. Arlene had some health issues including a couple of surgeries. She is recovering well and we just got back from Martha's Vineyard on Friday. What can I say, It was wonderful! There are some pictures on my blog.
