Weekend With The Girls...
We enjoyed a good meal, went back to the cottage, Relaxed and played . There was a fire pit relaxing area. A deck with chairs and dining set. A small area set up for bocci ball. ...which Angie and Kathy played and laughed the whole time. Later we all freshened up and went to a near by casino (Four Winds). The girls had some dinner there...I just was not hungry after my pulled pork sliders, that I had for lunch. So I just played a few machines ...slots. The girls played also. Not much...but I came away the big winner of 3 dollars. Yes, that's right...three dollars. LOL.
On Saturday we went to the town area , bought some things at the cute shops. I once again hurt my ankle on a pedestrian cross walk. You know those painted lines are like a thin rubber. I must have been dragging my feet. I hit that paint line and it felt like a hammer had struck my ankle. The girls take me home to rest. They go to the beach. Come back to the cottage get all showered and dressed and go to dinner. After dinner they pick me up (I had been icing my ankle)..we go to the beach for pictures...but alas , it was cloudy and wanted to rain. But I took photos anyways. We go for ice cream , then back to the cottage. Sunday morning, it was clean the cottage, strip the beds, and go to breakfast....Our long awaited mini vacation was ending.
My ankle is better today....as if it all popped back into place once I rammed in on the painted cross walk strip. Go figure ?? I enjoyed every moment with my girls. I am hoping we can do that again .
Hope your weekend was good and this week is better. XO

Susie, it sounds like you have marvelous times with your daughters too. Trips can be so fun. So sorry your ankle was hurt and keeping you from doing all the beach fun. I have three daughters and love doing things with them.ReplyDelete
I think your selfie is just too cute. We real people not celebrities...HaHa.
Wanda, I had the best time with my girls. We laughed like old times when they were small. I want to look as good in my photos as you do. :):) Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I love the smiles. That is so great that you got to vacation with the girls. What a nice spot. I think ankles and toes are tricky like that. About the time they heal, I seem to trip or stumble. :(ReplyDelete
Karen, It was a fun time with my girls. Some of the things they said and did took me back in time. Thankfully my children were kind to one another. My feet hurt today but nothing my ankle did . LOL. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
So sorry about your ankle but what a blessing to spend time with your girls. That is a cute cottage.ReplyDelete
Mildred, I loved that cottage. I would have loved to have been able to spend a long time with the girls...but thankful for the time we had. The laughs and excitement of seeing new views. My girls are so deserving of a bit of time away. They some times go shopping together too. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What a nice little getaway with the girls, it looks like you all had so much fun !ReplyDelete
Cute little cottage, and so near the beach !
Hope the ankle is cured, they are testy little things.
Jo, The cottage was six blocks from the beach. The girls walked to it on Saturday. Kathy knew my ankle was bothering me and she would let me out, then go park. The time went too quickly. I will have my ankle looked at . Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I'm so glad you all got to go together and have some special time. As you know, I have 4 sons...can you imagine what the activities would be if I went somewhere with them. White water rafting, hiking a tall mountain, etc! heehee! Sure sounds wonderful though. Hope your ankle heals this week! Hugs!ReplyDelete
Diane, The girls wanted the relaxing time on the beach. We could not squeeze in every thing we all wanted to do...of course I was not doing near what I wanted, with my bum ankle. But the joy of hearing the girls laugh while recalling their youth, was fun. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What fun . . . wish I was there with you. I was raised in Michigan City, only 9 miles away, if I remember right :) It was a long time ago, LOL.ReplyDelete
Your blogging sister,
Oh Connie, how funny that I was so near where you grew up. It's pretty there, every season. Of my many trips to Michigan , my favorite thing is all the pines...that is why I love pines trees today. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What a great time! So glad you could all get together. I've been to four winds before but never the cute shops. I've heard about them though. Mu cousin and I were going to go to them and I can't remember what happened. I think bad weather. Anyway Susie, you might want to get that ankle x-rated. I broke my ankle one time and didn't even know it! I just figured I sprained it and it would get better. Got a big honkin cast for six weeks.ReplyDelete
Cindy, The shop made me think of a more tropical area. Lots of beach things. I saw my sign in a shop...it says if it jiggles ,cover it up. LOL. I am going to have my ankle looked at today if I can get in...it keeps swelling a bit. Hope you are doing well. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I'm feelng so bad about your ankle. My left is a bummer. Stating with cartwheels and happening right up to last week. I hope you continue to improve.ReplyDelete
I'm amazed how many times our paths may have crossed. New Buffalo is about 40 miles from here. I take route 96, right by New Buffalo. The Stray Dog (love that harbor) and Redamak's are our faves. I take route 12 about 30 miles east to the lake. I think we are gong to meet up soon, Susie. You and tour daughters are gorgeous!
Blondie, One day you may hear me yelling, "Hey Blondie"Delete
That town of New Buffalo is a cute place. It was extremely busy too. The Stray Dog was a big place. We did watch boats going in and out on the lake , while at the beach. Thanks for the nice compliment. To me my girls will always be pretty. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
That was a sweet little cottage. How nice that everyone gets along and still wants to hang out together! Hope that ankle feels better soon. -JennReplyDelete
Jenn, More than anything in the world, I want my children to be friends always. My mother wanted the same with all of her children. I am going to the N.P. today. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What a wonderful weekend with your daughters, Susie. And how special that they were all there - it's hard to get everyone together at the same time. So sorry you hurt your ankle. I haven't been to the casinos in a long time. You won $3.00! This is a nice picture of you and the girls, and I think Liz looks like you the most. You will always have this picture to remember and look back on your mini trip with your daughters.ReplyDelete
ps I smiled when you mentioned the lazy susan. My mom had one at her table and I'll never forget it. I don't see them around any more. : )
Sheri, Hearing the girls talk about old days made me smile so much...plus we all were laughing out load about so many old memories. It was a great time...I would love to do it every year. Oh yes, that lazy Susan..I always wanted one on our table. I have an old style that my MIL gave me way back when...it was used to put salt, pepper, catsup and jellies on. :):) Blessings to you, hope your summer is a beautiful one. xoxo, love, SusieDelete
Loks like a fun group!! Glad your ankle didn't keep you from joining them..fun weekend..Enjoy your day..ReplyDelete
Missy, Even with my ankle acting up....I am glad I went on the trip with my daughters...I would have been sad to miss it. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
I think the selfie is cute. What a wonderful time with your daughters and that cabin looks fabulous. You must have had to book that way in advance. I'm sorry about your ankle, but glad it didn't get too much in the way of your fun and at least you didn't miss out on being with them. We have a lazy Susan on our table and my DH and the kids spin it around just because it's there to spin.ReplyDelete
Nonnie, We did book the cabin in March. Kathy's birthday is this week and the rest of us have winter b-days...so we decided to celebrate in the summer...that's why we thought of the trip. It truly was a great time with my girls. That makes me laugh about DH and the kids turning the lazy Susan..I thought our whole table top should turn. LOL. Blessings for a great summer. xoxo, SusieDelete
I sure hope your ankle heals up quickly! Great photos of you and your daughters having fun on your trip!ReplyDelete
Thank you Cheryl. I enjoyed my time with my daughters, they mean the world to me. I hope my ankle does better. After going to the nurse practioner today...it hurt worse. I have to ice it more. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete

Thank you Judy. Oh I am so grateful for any time I can have with my daughters , all together or one at a time. We have always been very close. They are my greatest gift. Blessings, hope your summer is wonderful...today was an awesome start. xoxo, SusieDelete
Four daughters. How fun for you! The cottage looks like a perfect place to relax with your girls. Glad you had that time with them. xoReplyDelete
