Lots Of Things Happened....

Here's great granddaughter Layla doing her model pose. LOL  Those glasses make me think of my mother. My mom would leave her sun glasses on tables in restaurants  or counters in stores. Good thing she got them at cheap prices.  Layla is rocking her "Gramma Maddie " glasses. (Who would be Layla's great-great grandmother) This Friday, my mother will be gone eleven years and I miss her still.

Sweet Max nuzzling his baby brother Luke. Max is 20 months old and Luke is 4 months. Both boys seem to be teething , Max's  are in back and Luke's getting those first baby teeth. You know those razor sharp ones. LOL
Matt (Emma's daddy) , took Sam the dog , on a hike up in Michigan over the weekend. They are good buddies. Sam is doing so well.
Grandson Jake closed on his house purchase. He's moving in slowly. This is an older home that's been up-dated. I like this wall with an electric fireplace and the mantle with the TV over it. I feel The mantle should have been just a bit lower. (my taste)
Here's Jake's mommy (Angie) Showing some of Jake's furniture choices.  I  like that the flooring in the high traffic areas is wood. Easy to clean.
Behind this cute barn door is a utility room where Jake will have his washer and dryer. Right off the master bath , just perfect for Jake.
I am not crazy about this "picture" window. But you can see the neighborhood. LOL. Really nice and clean.
Daughter Liz , painted her front door...she needs to give it another coat. She likes this color so much.
It kind of matches the kids playhouse door and roof. So Liz painted the little playhouse that was white. She chose a brown similar to the brick of their house. LOL. Layla and Max play here and swing on the swing set .
Liz's twin sister Karen, painted her front door also. She chose a deep blue. This picture looks a bit periwinkle in color.
It was busy thru out the whole holiday week for my family.  Ted and I did lots of running back and forth.
We had a beautiful weekend....some rain . Monday evening the storms came thru. Thankfully no damage here. But the same line of storms did damage in Ohio. So much scary weather...and more to come. Please be safe in Florida people . Do not risk your lives. Praying for our country. XO

    1. Karen, Lynzie is breast feeding Luke, as she did Max. Max used to try to bite with those sharp baby teeth. Yikes. They just don't know the pain. I think Luke may grow bigger than Max...he looks to be catching up to him already. Blessings to you. Are you loving the cool mornings? xoxo, Susie

The season is changing in so many ways. Weather and seasonal changes. Life changes. Nothing ever stays the same. Kind of makes me melancholy....

    1. Linda, It seems fall is coming quickly....I am not yet ready to say goodbye to summertime. Our Pork Festival is starting tomorrow. I hope I am able to join my daughters for lunch on Friday. Linda, I get melancholy at this time of year...not sure if the thought of winter slowing us down , or missing my parents, cause mommy loved fall so much. I have loved seeing what all the children have been doing around here. Blessings to you and LD, xoxo, Susie

  5. Susie, glad you didn't have any damage from the storm. It is hard to keep track of where they all are nowadays. Your little great grand is so precious as they all are. Glad you have a grand named Jake too. His house looks really nice. Today would have been my mom's birthday. She would have been 104 and she has been gone for 34 years. Seems like yesterday. Looks like everyone in your family has been busy..Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy

    1. Judy, Our Jake is a young man...but in my heart he is still a little boy, my best buddy , as he used to call himself. It's hard to let that image go. Judy, I sometimes think we never get over the loss of our parents. As you know some days or seasons are harder than other with the longing.....for one more hug. My mom would have been 94 this past Feb. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Debbie, I have often thought of painting our front door too....but so far it's still brown. LOL I like the colors the twin chose for their entry doors. It's being to feel like fall here in central Indiana. Blessings , xoxo, Susie

  7. That is a creative idea to paint the play house door the same color as Liz' front door. I really like this color. This is a cute play house for Layla and Max. The boys look precious cuddling each other. Love that picture of them, Susie. I can't believe Luke is already 4 months old. I like the "picture" window, but it would bother me at night with no covering over it. It sure is nice though.

I am patiently awaiting for Autumn here, Susie. It's still hot during the day, but cooler in the mornings and nights.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, I love that little playhouse of the children's. Jake's picture window will have drapes or if I have a say about them...plantation blinds. Sheri, you see how fast Luke is growing, my sweet girl, your grandbaby will grow just as quickly. Waaa...it's to fast. I feel like I never got to sniff the new baby smell off him enough. LOL. I swear girl, autumn is arriving here...in the past two weeks the corn and beans are getting yellow , the green is vanishing. Cool mornings are sweet !! Blessings to you, love, xoxo, Susie

    1. JP, You never want those little monkeys (babies) to bite your finger with those first new teeth...yikes. I know my girls never got my painting abilities. LOL. When I want things to dry, I will direct a fan on them , to speed it along. Plus I learn a long time ago....get an angled brush for cutting in. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  10. I love the barn look sliding doors and the fireplace, but I agree that the mantle seems a little high. The picture window is beautiful but I am not sure I would want it. The playhouse is adorable!

    1. Carol, I feel the mantle should drop down a bit for at least a mantle clock . LOL. I might talk Jake into plantation shutters(Blinds) for that window.:):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
