Some of the petunias are leggy but pretty.
Go into town and there are mums everywhere. Not all are bloomed out but soon will be.
The sun is setting in a new place in the evenings.
The corn and soy beans are turning brown also. Fall is so very near. I was not ready !!! I wanted many more weeks of summertime. :):) We had a super wet spring, a dry summer and I am not sure about fall. I always hope for a lovely Indian Summer. It can come in Oct. or Nov. ....and that would be fine with me.
My granddaughter survived Irma. She was fortunate . I told her I was proud of the strong young woman she has become. She truly was prepared for the worst.
My heart aches for those that lost loved ones and their homes. Our country will be a long time cleaning up after Harvey and Irma. I hope that Jose goes out to sea and disperses. We do not want any more storms . XO
Yes, next week will officially be Fall! Your petunias are still pretty.
ReplyDeleteThankful your granddaughter is okay. It has been quite a season for storms.
Karen, Does it seem that fall has arrived too soon. I feel like my head is spinning. It must have something to do with my old age. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteGlad to hear your granddaughter did fine with Irma. That area has been in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteSummer went to fast this year. Lovely photos.
Sandi, We will be praying for the storm area a long time, I am afraid. Some place will never be what they once were. So scary and sad. Blessings to you. xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie! Watching what went on in Houston and Florida was heart wrenching. Up around these here parts the weather has been picture book perfect. As I write this it's 78 degrees with cloudless skies. We've had a wonderful summer.
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and I'm glad to hear folks in your family are well.
Boston Boy...I am ever so glad to hear from you. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. You were gone awhile. Yes, my g.daughter did well and survived...I am thankful she was prepared. We have had some days right out of a romance novel...perfect. Then other days ..gloomy gray and that just gives me the blues. Hope you are Arlene will be able to visit your favorite vacation site soon. Blessings, xoxo, take care. Susie
DeleteLovely flowers and mums. I feel fall in the air here more and more.
ReplyDeleteI echo your thoughts of those who lost home and lives of loved ones in the floods and hurricanes.
Hope you have a great week.
Hugs, Noreen
Noreen, I keep thinking it's an early autumn....but then I look at the calendar , it really isn't that early. My old mind plays time tricks on me. :):)
DeleteI feel everyday is a day to pray for our country . For all in need. I hope we had a mild autumn and winter. Blessings to all at your house, xoxo, Susie
Susie, that is so true about Harvey and Irma. So much devestation. It will be a long time putting to rights. So glad your granddaughter went through it all OK. I'm so glad when the mums come out. I love the smell of them. Really reminds me of fall..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteJudy, I think good ole mums are the hardiest plants. I need to get some small ones to plop into pots for a bit of autumn drama.
DeleteI told my g.daughter she now has a story to tell her great grandkids one day , of her surviving the big hurricane . It is too sad to see all the homes torn to pieces. I know some will build back stronger. Praying they can. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Lovely photos, Susie...your flowers are beautiful! We are having a little warm spell now, but it has felt like fall since the beginning of April...a short summer, for sure! Glad your granddaughter is okay!
ReplyDeleteLinda, We will have a warm coming this weekend. Hope that isn't our Indian Summer. LOL I like to have those later. I think Our weather patterns are crazy any more. Hope you did enjoy your summer. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteMy flowers are starting to fade. We have had such a hot summer, but my pots are still very pretty. I'll leave them till the end of Sept. and then I'm going to start pulling them out and putting things away for winter. Glad your granddaughter is okay. Pretty scary!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Jann, I hope you are feeling better. It will officially be autumn shortly. Our summer had it all, wet, dry, hot and chilly (In the mornings).LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHI Susie! Now, I'm coming right over and borrowing that darling little blue truck filled with flowers! ;) Thanks so much for popping in to see me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Shelia, That little blue truck says Ford in the side. It is metal, but my grandson got a bouquet in a ceramic one just like it once. I should ask my daughter where that truck got to. Hope you are loving your doll house fun. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSuch pretty flowers Susie. Yes summer when by way too fast. I love this time of the year though. Bearable weather and not so hot. Good sleeping. I bought a mum plant yesterday. Going to place it by my new fence. Thanks for stopping by and glad to hear you g-daughter is okay after the storm.
ReplyDeleteLouise, I am loving the cooler temps and no AC and no heat on here. You can open windows if you like and still feel fine. I am about ready to buy a few small mums to put into pots of greenery...just for the fall season. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLovely photos! I wish that the South would cool off lol. It usually still feels like Spring and even Summer during most of the Fall. Hopefully it will get cooler by the end of October!
ReplyDeletePilar, I really like not having the AC or the heat on...to open windows for some nice fresh air. I have had a blanket to sleep under these past three evenings. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Deletep.s. heard the storm Jose would be going out to sea....thank God.
Lovely photos! I wish that the South would cool off lol. It usually still feels like Spring and even Summer during most of the Fall. Hopefully it will get cooler by the end of October!
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that your granddaughter survived ok. I think we have had enough of hurricanes for one year. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteSo very glad to see your granddaughter was all right. I know your heart was anxious for her. What pretty flowers you have! As the season changes, I won't be able to see the sunsets from my window. That makes me sad because I love sunsets as much as you do. It's only the rapid passing of time that bothers me ... not the change of seasons. But I think you have it worse up there for winter. Have a good week.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad your granddaughter survived the storm, Susie. It is really looking lovely in your are, and the sunset is gorgeous. Wow, your summers can last til October and November? Autumn is starting to arrive here, and it's supposed to be a cooler week, in the 80's. I love that little blue truck. and it looks cute on your outside table. Those corn stalks must be a sight! Mums always remind me of Fall - I love that flower. : )
ReplyDeleteHave a nice rest of the week, Susie.
love, ~Sheri
We still have temps in the lo 80's..The trees haven't started to change yet..Fall is just around the corner..
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to hear your granddaughter is ok...it sure was a scary storm. I can't wait to get a couple of pots of mums when they come here. I hope the stores are open tomorrow...they've been closed. Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to hear about your granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteWe have family in Texas. One lost his winter home. The other had an old out building collapse due to saturation!
Praying for clean up and for families.
I bought a mum, a purple one. :-)
Glad your grand daughter is ok. Your flowers are gorgeous :)
ReplyDeleteIt's really starting to look like fall here. But the temps starting tomorrow thru the weekend are supposed to be in the mid 80's! Unheard of for us in September. I still need to get some mums. My gardens are looking tired and need a sprucing up!
