A Win & Last November......

My daughter Liz's work group always has a pumpkin decorating contest. Liz won the 1st prize of  fifty dollars. She has a fish bowl inside with lights, that are not lit in this photo. She has some little gold fish in the bowl.
Last year at this time we had leaves everywhere. Ted uses the golf cart to pull the leave rake catcher behind it.
Our backyard is always the worse...so many leaves.
This is the front yard.  no many leaves to rake then or this year.
The color was more vibrant last year.
All around town , the trees  had beautiful colors.
Love the bright red on this tree near the credit union.
I  think this may be near the funeral parlor on Main Street.  This year more leaves are still green  and falling off the trees anyway. We had a bit of a draught this past summer.  That may be why.
Ted has taken on a major  project here, I will post of it next week.  This is one project I will be thrilled for him  to have completed.  It's not for us, but for his sister.
I have 3 more days till I go to the dentist. Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend. XO

  1. That is one cute pumpkin Susie, well done Liz !
Your trees are showing lots of beautiful colors, many of our leaves turned brown from lack of rain, but there is still a little color from the Dogwood trees and Maples.
Have a lovely weekend dear friend.
    Hugs,
    ~Jo

    1. Betsy, All the pretty photos were from our last falls color. This year has been rather strange...so late to still have so many leaves yet on the trees. I love looking off in the distance and seeing a woods full of colors. The best I have ever seen has been in Pa. Blessings for a fun fall weekend, xoxo, Susie

  6. Hi Susie!
I wish you could go to the dentist TODAY! I like to get it over with.
That’s a smart way to do the leaves! My Bill blows then into piles and then mulches them with the lawn mower. He’s been doing it every day.
I hope your day is joyful! ❤️

    1. Thank you honey, I sure wish I could be done with this tooth. I just pray once t's out that it heals and I have no other effects from the surgery. :( I usually rake leaves into to small piles and we load them in the trailer and take down to the neighbor's back woods. We never leave them on the lawn ...it kills the grass thru the winter. Blessings to you and yours for a great fun weekend, xoxo, Susie

  8. Congratulations on the prize pumpkin. How clever! Your Ted is a smart guy to take care of the leaves like that. It seems the leaves just haven't been as colorful anywhere this year. So sad because I always look forward to them. I know you will be glad to have the dentist thing behind you.

The color really was beautiful last year, Susie. Here, too. We still have some leaves on some of our trees. That is unbelievable for us!

    1. Pilar, It has truly been a slow time for fall colors here...I am beginning to wonder if the leaves will fall and not even give us pretty colors. Yes, I have a wreathe of fake leaves on my door...I gave a dollar for it at a yard sale. :):) Wishing you a fun weekend. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Missy, The rake I did yesterday for nil...the leaves have fallen like crazy over night. Today was warm enough to sit on the porch a bit. So crazy after having fires in the fireplace for 4 days. I think our weather just gets more mixed up as the years go by. I loved the warmth of today. Hope you enjoyed your day . 15. Our leaves are starting to show some color but won't be as vibrant as previous years. We have lots of trees so when the leaves come down in droves (!) my hubby blows them into the woods :)
    Wow, that pumpkin!!
May Monday come quickly...cannot imagine the discomfort you've been living with. Yikes!

    1. Doris, It seems that lots of bloggers are saying our fall colors are not what they used to be. We take our leaves down to a bigger woods. But yesterday Ted just mowed over them to get the lawn mowed before Sundays rains...he will be too busy today. Oh yes, I am very eager to get this tooth tended to. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

  17. First of all I want to thank you for your visits to my blog. It is much appreciated. I like your pictures! The same thing has happened around here. some trees still have green leaves. It's been quite warm for fall around here. It's supposed to be in the 70's Monday but after that it looks like Fall is finally here. There's a potential for snow next weekend.

  20. That is such a cool pumpkin that Liz carved. What a clever idea making it into a fish bowl. Love the blue color. You have lots of Autumn color around your area too. We don't have many golden leaves, just the oranges and reds. These golden trees are so pretty around your town. Wow, look at that huge area of leaves Ted has to take care of. I know his work is always appreciated by you, Susie.

    love, ~Sheri
