Cold Snap Is Breaking.....

This is the sunrise on Saturday morning. One of our very cold days , 14 in a row, of below zero starts. Sunday the temps rose a bit. This Monday morning is foggy with  icy roads. But it's 34 degree, hoping for some thawing.
Saturday evening's sunset. The skies were pretty all day.  I am thankful for the sunshine on even the coldest days...that helps me survive cold days of winter.
I liked that the sunset can make the snow look lavender at times.  We have been staying in most days. A couple trips to town , to the grocery and one to Wal-mart.
I miss seeing the boys. Their mommy sends me photos of them  Max and Luke are becoming good playmates. They get to sit in the high chairs to eat together. LOL. I am not even sure what baby Luke is eating now. He is going on nine  months of age .
Looks as if miss Layla is eating out here.  All I can say is, "Where is your sweater, young lady?" She is using some chapstick....too funny. I miss being with my family, but the extreme cold is scary . So we don't go around the little ones to take in any germs. Thankfully Ted and I are doing well. Not having colds or flu...praying we don't . Praying for all of you too. The flu is taking over and it's bad.
Can you believe , I finally did get all the Christmas decorations down and put away. It was either get it done  or try to pretend I was eleven months early with next Christmas' decorating.
Windows 10 did it's download. The notice said it would take longer than before....but it didn't and I am not even sure it loaded at all. Just happy that I can still use the computer without calling the Geeks in for help.  I would love to adopt one of those youngsters. LOL.
Wishing all a good day. Stay warm and be safe. XO

    1. Pilar, It's been so nice not to feel chilly even in the house. I did clean the porch off today...of all the snow from the one right after Christmas. Yes, honey, that is the boring part, staying in when we do not want to. LOL. I know there's million darn things I should be doing but work can be boring also. :):) I do want to go thru every container in the basement and clear out so much stuff. Stay well. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. As I write this the temperatures at last check (12:30 today) has soared to 27 degrees. By the end of the week the temperature will be tickling 60.
Look at all the space you have! It's a trial just to get down a two way side street. Spring I want Spring!
    Cute kids!

    1. Boston Boy, when I saw you were in for fierce weather, I thought of the snows you had last time. I just would go nuts with that much snow. Some times this open space lets the winds bow right on thru....but any tree, shrub or building...makes for drifting too. I say hurry with that nice weather. I am ready for this warm up. I did clear the snow off the porch and carry in firewood. I am ready for a bit of time on the porch. I guess I am too eager. LOL Blessings to you, stay warm. xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Cindy, I love getting pictures of the little ones. I miss time with them. But I sure would not want to give them a cold or anything. I try to stay healthy. MY hands are so dry from washings. LOL Hope you are doing well this winter and not being cold. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Tete, I thought of you when the forecast said warmer. LOL I was so happy today.....did not go anywhere. Just cleaned the porch of the snow and brought in firewood. I love to have time on the porch even in winter...but there was no way I could sit out in that bitter cold. Stay healthy my friend. I sure am trying too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  7. So glad your computer is still working for you, Susie. The sunset pics are gorgeous. The colors of lavender on the snow is amazing. Max and Luke look like they are going to be good buddies. Layla looks sweet with her chapstick. Oh Yes, this flu bug is a nasty one. And I hope none of my family gets it either, Susie. I had it a couple months ago, and the cough lingered on for sooooo long.

Take care, bundle up, and stay warm, dear Susie.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, My computer seems slower , but thankful I can at least use it. I am having some troubles loading pictures and even responding to comments...But I am persistent . I think it will be fun to watch the boys play together. They laugh with one another so easily...just lifts my heart. Sheri, I am glad you are aware of the flu dangers. Please stay well.
I know you like the snow pictures. There's times of the day when it does look pretty....but the bitter cold made me long for spring. Blessings to you and yours, love you, xoxo, Susie

  9. It has been really, really cold here, too, Susie. It did warm up a bit today and we had some sun but I understand that next weekend is supposed to be really cold here again. IF my family weren't all in the midwest I would be in FL!!!

They say the flu shot this year is only about 10% effective. Just crazy. My grandson has had that respiratory thing for about 10 days. He went back to school this week but now his mom has it. I was over there taking care of him off and on last week so just praying I don't get it.

Beautiful pictures of the snow...but wish I didn't have any here. lol

Have a great week, Susie- Love to you- xo Diana

    1. Diana, I will so happy when the snow has gone. I hope and pray we do not have such a stretch of cold days ever again. I bet you and John would love to be in the sunshine state. You are like me. I once was going to retire there, but my girls are all here. I mis them now when I don't get to see them as mu7ch as I would like..so moving is out of the question.
I pray you do not get that flu either. I am half scared to get it. I did get my flu shot. They need to up those dang shots to a better strength . Sitting around so much is making me nuts...I know what you are thinking . LOL. I would love to go to town to Hortons and look around. OR even to the Goodwill and junk. Stir crazy , you know. LOL. Blessings to you, stay well, please. Xoxo, love, Susie

  11. Oh I am so glad that the cold snap has ended for a bit. I was beginning to think that we were going to freeze inside. The poor wood stove could not keep the house nearly as toasty as normal because it was so cold and our poor animals were in dire need of a change in Mother Nature's mood.

    1. Carol, You are right...this cold was so horrid it was hard to heat the house with our fireplace and the furnace. I am happy for this break. :) Yes our outside cat is now in the shop for the worst of this weather. Meaning we had to get a litter box again. LOL. I have not seen any animals out. I always hope barns are warm enough for them. I do not remember ever having this many days of the bitter cold. Stay warm there. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  12. Hi Susie, Back home again in Indiana . . . oh how I remember freezing to death standing out waiting for the school bus on winter mornings:) That was back when we couldn't wear pants to school, too. Well, except under our dresses to be removed the minute we entered the building. I do not miss the cold of the Midwest winters.
    Stay warm and think Spring!

    1. Connie, I remember those days too...only dresses and skirts/blouses. Growing up poor we never had enough warm clothes , so yes, it was always cold to me....maybe that's a reason I am not a fan of winter. Congrats on your 6 years of blogging. I will pop over to visit. Blessings to you, yes we will think Spring. xoxo, Susie

  15. It was so cold here too. Today is the first day above freezing for two weeks. Totally ready for it!
I always think kids need a sweater in the winter....I try not to stress about it too much but confess to thinking, what was their mother thinking?!!
Christmas is still here at our house. Hopefully the guys can get down the boxes for me to dismantle it all on Saturday. It's time.
    Enjoy the "warmth"!

I was so slow getying my decorations put out for the holidays and even slower getting them cleaned up and put away. LOL. 16. I'll be so happy to see Spring Susie that I'll rejoice. It's been so cold and I know you all are and have been worse off than us. Those grand babies are so precious. I know what you mean about the Windows 10 and updates. It is driving me crazy wanting to do a big Update of some type and I keep putting it off. I've had the hardest time trying to maneuver on it as is. I pray it continues to warm up for you. Stay warm and many blessings and hugs, xo
