This Weekend....

Earlier this week, my daughter Angie was on the front page of our local newspaper. There was a dress rehearsal of the play Steel Magnolias. Being on the front page is not a big thing. But it's fun.  The play will be running this weekend, starting tonight.
Here 's Angie playing Truvy, in that Dolly Pardon wig, she let me try on a couple weeks back.  LOL.  She says she can get a southern accent down pat, thinking of her Grandmother.
My baby brother had a birthday celebration this week.  This is his wife Suz.  They have no children, but have always had dogs.  Steve is a hard working man with a great sense of humor.
Today is pretty out and a good bit warmer. But gusty winds. The wind will help dry up all the wetness from the melted snow...just in time for rain this weekend.  :):) Wishing  all of you the best weekend. Stay safe . XO

  2. Cute photo of your daughter! My small town is doing the same play beginning tonight and running for a few nights! Tell your daughter to "break a leg", not literally of course!
It's sunny but very windy here today, too. I hope the sun will remain shining for a few days. I saw a robin the other day, but he may have just wintered over. But it was exciting to see him and think spring is on the way! :)
    Have a great weekend!

    1. Cheryl, I can not wait to see Angie do this play. I like the community theater plays. Angie's class gave her a "Break a leg" card today. :):) Oh I saw a robin in the crabapple tree two weeks ago...he must have stay all winter or got his schedule confused. I wanted to cry seeing him in the cold. I love robins as they are a sign of spring here....usually. Stay warm, spring is very near. Blessings , xoxo, Susie

  4. Well, that's cool that she is on the front page and even more that she is playing that very fun part. Is she a regular in the little theater?
It's windy here most every day and it bugs me that it dries up the moisture. There are warnings about fires. Happy birthday wishes to your brother. They look like a sweet couple.

    1. Nonnie, Angie has been in some really cute plays given by the community theater. She loves it. I do not like when the wind dries the landscape to draught conditions. Too scary if forest areas. Thank you for the b-day wishes for my brother. He really is a kind man ..loves to laugh and bring cheer to others. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
p.s. hope your weekend is a great one.

  8. I wish I lived closer, Susie. I would come and watch the play. That is one of my favorite old movies of all time. I bet your daughter does a great job with that part.

Hope you have a good weekend- it is mid 30s and bright but very windy here today. It is supposed to get colder again the first of the week. xo Diana

    1. Thanks Diana. I think if you lived closer we'd be in trouble. LOL. Some of the things you say and do make me think of myself. LOL...I told you once my brothers would cringe if we both were around them. Yesterday wore me out . I am hoping my Sunday is quiet. Blessings, keeping Lulu in my prayers. xoxo, love, Susie

  11. That's wonderful that Angie was on the front of the local newspaper for the play she was in. That Dolly Parton wig looks great on her. It's nice that she remembers her grandmother's southern accent.

It rained for a few days and now it's sunny today. I hope you enjoy the warmth of the sun while it lasts, Susie. I don't think we've seen the last of the rain for the season.

Don't you love your sunshine. I have had your state in my prayers. Seems one disaster after another. Stay safe honey. Blessings to you and your family. Love, xoxo, Susie

  13. How many performances are they giving? I know it will be great and you will enjoy it! I'm a lifelong Dolly Parton fan and also loved her in this movie.

    1. Debbi, There will only be three performances of this play...seems a shame after so many hours of practice. Dolly is a good person. I love watching those shows about her when she was little. I thought she did well in , "Nine To Five". Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Lisa, Angie was in her senior play in school and a lot of skits through out her H.S. days. Every community has some kinds of programs where they need talented people, maybe your daughter will become interested in those. It would be fun for all of you. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
