Blooms......

The lawn is mowed and looks very nice.  Don't look too closely, I had to dig out dandelions.
The weeping cherry is bloomed out and the wind is stripping the blooms so quickly.
I found a patch of wild violets  in one of the flowerbeds. I think I'll keep them.
The crabapple is ready to bloom, as you see by it's little flower buds.
I spotted this redbud tree in town. We ended up cutting half of our tree down, it was dead. It never looked this nice ever.
Another tree around the corner from the redbud. So pretty with the lush green lawn.
By the park. Our park has removed all tall old trees, but a few. It looks strange after so many years of seeing all the tall trees . Lots of the trees removed were Ash. They were dead and dying because of the Emerald Ash Bore.
You can see what the wind and rain did to this tulip tree. A sidewalk covered in petals. So sad, the blooms are gone that fast.  . I want to get  ready  and head out to Horton's . I am going to by some  flowers and plants for my containers.  Please enjoy your day. XO

    1. Nonnie, It seemed forever before the real greening of spring arrived. :):) I always love the flowering tree...but the bloom never last long enough. Blessings for a fun filled weekend, xoxo, Susie

    1. Debbie, I have always wanted a dogwood and redbud . Our dogwood never last the year and the redbud , well half of it died last year. I still do not understand what happened. I always want to plant dwarf trees or flowering ones. We have had to remove trees that reach their limit here. Like weeping willows. I love the looks of them...but you never want them near the septic or any sewer lines. Blessings for a fun weekend of gardening. I know you are ready. xoxo, Susie

  3. Your front lawn looks very nice, Susie. You are finally seeing Spring flowers come alive. That is a pretty picture of the crabapple tree. It almost looks like a painting. We had the Pink blossom trees all over my town, but the rain washed the flowers to the ground. But it was a pretty sight to see them on the ground, cause I knew that we wouldn't get to see them again until next year. Have a fun time at Horton's. Be sure to show us if you buy anything.

  7. Your lawn looks great, Susie. Sweet violets are my favorite small spring flower. They are just so sweet and always make me smile.
I bet that park does look strange with all the older trees removed-just sad that they were diseased.
    Have a great weekend, Susie.

    1. Diana, The park looks nothing like when my children were small. All the old hot metal slides and monkey bars are gone. How the heck did our children or for that matter we older folks survive our childhoods. ? It is starting to be nice here. Love you, Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

  8. Susie, Hi! It is so lush & green here too. But the blooms are slow this year. Not sure if we'll have any. (darn) But, time will tell. (I wasn't sure we'd have anything but 'white' in our yard this year..ha!)Guess it is time to buy some plants...I can't wait. I really miss Tom at this time of the year too. I can go by myself but not for long. I always hate to ask others to go with etc.. At any rate..just having spring is a blessing!!

    1. Debbi, It is crazy how dandelions pop up in an hour or two. LOL. I am trying to stay on top of them....hard to do with the farmers ditches full of them. They are already puffed and blowing in the wind. I hope the bees get some necter from them. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
