Here's the class getting ready for pictures. Mrs. H isn't in line yet. LOL I do not think all the children got to come to the picnic. I thought the class was much bigger than this at the Christmas party.
This pile of shoes always makes me laugh. One boy asked me if he could run around outside barefoot. I told him he might step on something....but away he flew bare feet and all out the door thru the grass.
This little cutie pie had a Polaroid camera. She took pictures of the kids and gave them their print. Some did not turn out...I am not sure if the children touch the undeveloped film or not.
Every child had their very own cozy for their soda. Mrs. H bought the cozies, took them to school and the children decorated them to suit themselves. That way they knew their own soda.
The children played whiffle ball, badminton, and lobbed tennis balls. Ran , played hide and seek. Then it was duck, duck ,goose. All that wonderful running...then they said they were so tired they could not walk. LOL So the bus picked them for their return to school.
The skies were threatening all day. It rained real early but not while the children were at the picnic. They were served the usual picnic menu of hot dogs, chips, cookies, and soda. I know they ran all that health food right off. LOL Tomorrow is their last day of school this year. I told them all to be good all summer and keep exercising.
Wish all of you could have been with us today. XO
Looks like a great time for the kids..hard to believe that school is over already..Soon it will be HOT..not a fan of summer and the bugs that come with it..
ReplyDeleteMissy, We did not have but one snow day here ..so the kids had no days to make up. Helped them get out a bit early. Oh missy I hate the really humid heat ,and all the mosquitoes of summer. Hope we do not have an abundance of them. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteIt sounds like a terrific day -- and what a wonderful idea with having the kids decorate the cozies. I'll have to remember that one!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, I told my daughter we need to do those cozies at the family gatherings too. LOL. I used to always make my girl use skinny straws, for fear of bees getting into to soda can openings, while sitting around. Thankfully at class picnic time , there are no bees . Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSounds like a fun day...memories made :)
ReplyDeleteI miss those school days.
Hugs,
~Jo
Jo, I like talking with the children. Most are very sweet and kind. Each kids seems to hate to call it an end to picnic day. Hope they all have a great summer. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Deletethis sure looks like a fun day for the kids, it's nice to see them playing outdoors! what a great idea to have the kids decorate cozies for their soda cans. a great idea for the day and a great souvenir!
ReplyDeletei love a good shoe pile up, we always had them at our house and that always meant lot's of kids having lot's of fun!!!
Debbie, When my grandson Jake was growing up...he rarely had a nice pair of socks, always ran out in in sock feet. I told Angie she needed to buy him some leather soled socks. LOL....she said "Mom he has those they are called shoes, he just thinks it's okay to go out in socks. " I love seeing the children in Angie's class...I see them about three times a year. Gosh, don't you wish you could have a smidge of the children's energy? Wow, I sure do. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteThe energy of kids is amazing! It looks like they had a great time. Happy Summer Vacation.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I just asked Debbie if she'd like some of that energy. LOL. We laugh about how very hard they will play, but ask them to take the trash out, hahaha. Karen, I sure hope our summer isn't so hot we can not go for little walks and enjoy our outside time. I am so old it bothers me.LOL. Blessings to you sweet friend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLooks like a fun party! School is out here tomorrow as well. Where has this year gone?
ReplyDeleteHi Arelene, It was a fun day. Some of the children seem more mature than others at that 5th grade level. Most were kind and not whiny. Most. LOL. I just love talking with them, they like teasing teacher too. I think we waited sooo long for spring that it came and went in a matter of about 6 weeks...making our time fly by. Our city pool opens this Saturday. Normally never before Memorial day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteWhat a fun day, Susie!! I hope you have a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie. I am behind on visiting blogs, so sorry. I have missed seeing yours . I want to see your flowers and gardens. The weather's been good here for two days. :)Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHello my friend! How nice of you to help with the picnic. Kids are great, but yes, they wear us out! The pile of shoes made me laugh, too. I noticed that there was one pair neatly placed in perfect position. That child shows signs of OCD, and if that's the case she/he must be related to me. Hah! Hope you're enjoying spring. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, Hope you are getting settled in at your new home. You are so very brave to me...as I am having trouble throwing things out and downsizing. I did have the best time with all the young kids from 5th grade. They did make me laugh so much. Oh yes, I saw those neat shoes, some had to look for mates they just kicked them any which way. Nancy it seemed spring took forever and only last half as long then right into the heat of summer. We will be lying in the shade come August. LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh to have all that energy! I enjoyed the photos and stories. Thankful it did not rain on their picnic. I wish you a delightful day and a nice weekend. xoxo
ReplyDeleteMildred, I do not know if I ever had that much energy. LOL. I did sleep good that evening. I enjoy young kids so much. I always put a bit of teaching out there, like, never do drugs, always brush your teeth, run while you have good feet. LOL. I just can't seem to help myself. Blessings to you for a fine weekend also. xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteSounds like a very full day . . . I'll bet you slept good last night. When I'm around my granddaughters I sleep like a log . . . they wear me out, but I love it, LOL. And there is only two of them, not a classroom . . . I'm so happy that you were able to go and enjoy this time with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteHave a great memorial day weekend.
Connie :)
Connie, I slept the sleep of the dead. LOL. I did actually sleep long and deeper...I am normally a flip flopper , and do not sleep well. I enjoyed those young people so much. Some you would just love to keep They touch our hearts. One boy asked if he could go home with me...I told him I would adopt him...then he tells my daughter, "Mrs. H., I'll be your step brother. " LOL. Funny little kids. Blessings for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLooks like a fun time was had by all and I hope they enjoy their summer. School doesn't dismiss here till next week. I'm glad you were able to be there and enjoy it. it brings back memories of when I went to all the happenings for my son and grandchildren. Happy Memorial Day sweet friend. xo
ReplyDeleteSusie, All my grandkids used to have grandparent's day at their schools...I miss that so very much. I think that's why I enjoy helping my daughter at Christmas and picnic day. Hope you have a beautiful weekend also. I think we have a graduation and an open house all in one day. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie
