Kiddies At The Zoo....

This is my son-in-law with my great grades at the zoo. Layla , Max and Luke , along with their parents went to the zoo on Saturday.
"Hurry Max ", Layla seems to be saying , as she pulls Max toward one of the fenced in animals. Lynzie has Luke om her back now.  Everyone that went to the zoo, in my family, helped one another with the children.
Layla and cousin Max feeding a green parrot. Lynzie said that Max was skittish around all the animals, but Layla was right there to see them all.
What to do on the long ride home...well nap of course.  Luke's reflection as he is asleep. Looks like he was good and got a new toy.
Big brother Max thought a nap sounded good apparently...he's sleeping too. I asked where is the shot of Papaw Matt sleeping. LOL
My birthday daughter Kathy, got to catch up with her son who was in the northern part of the state this week. She spent the weekend with him and their friends, they have known since Korey was in the 2nd grade. What a topper to Kathy's week long celebration.
Saturday was not this pretty....this is Sunday morning. Wonderful day, not too hot and sunshine. Just like I like it.  :):)
The new house down on the corner. The young man that built here , has owned the property for many years.  He built a pole barn first and mowed the land for years...this year he is starting a new life . Wishing him the best.
Tomorrow is another funeral for us to attend. The sweet lady down the road passed away from cancer.  So sad.
Please hug your loved ones today, if you can not ,then call, text, or email. XO

  1. Happy Birthday to Kathy! Tell her I've been celebrating my birthday for several months now! It's a big one. A week will do on the regular ones though! In the last post I loved the way you sprinkled some marigold seeds outside the pot. It looks like they jumped the pot! And I planted some potato vine and elephant ears and with all of the rain we had last week they are doing great. We were on vacation and when we came home they grew a lot! I used to love going to the zoo. My favorite was the tortoises. If they would come over by the fence I would scratch their neck and they would stretch as far out as they could. I could sure use a neck massage about right now, couldn't you!!!

    1. Cindy, My daughters Karen and Kathy love getting massages. I can barely stand for any stranger to do anything like that. Remember when in the hospital , aides used to lotion and power our back.....you may be way too young to know that. LOL Well I gotta go, Ted can not match clothing..he has picked a grey shirt with tan pants. Gaaa. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. The little ones love the zoo. They are learning so quickly at that age. A lady in my Bible Study passed away last week at age 102.

    1. Karen, That is sad about your Bible Study lady. All that wonderful history. All the things she saw and learned thru life. I hope she told stories of her youth to her family members. I wish I had asked my mom more.
I love that my grands take their little ones to places of family fun. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Missy, We just went to a little store in town that had no AC...wow, it's too hot now to go without some fans or AC. I am almost in shock over the neighbor lady. It was bad enough right after father's day with uncle Freddie. Stay cool there, I hope our AC keeps going. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  5. Hi Susie, Such sweet photos of your little ones enjoying the zoo. I can remember taking Karen's kids and how tired they would be at the end of the day! Very sad about your neighbor. My deepest sympathy. Such a tough time ahead for her husband. I have taken some time away from the blog - had a bad scare with blood work done at the hospital. Turns out everything is ok. Just so very thankful. God bless you and yours. Have a good evening. xo

    1. Mildred, I am so thankful your bloodwork was ok. I too get scared when it comes to health..we just never know what can strike us. When you said Karen's children would be wore out after the zoo...I can truly believe it. I have been to the little Zoo in the town where my daughter works and I am exhausted later, I think heat has much to do with it. I just can't bear the heat anymore . Blessing to you Mildred, love, xoxo, Susie

  6. What a wonderful post, Susie. I love that the kids all had fun at the zoo. Looks like it tuckered them all out...naps are good for kids at the end of a busy day.
Kathy's son is a handsome man!
How nice to have a pretty new house to look at across from you.
I hope you have a great night, Susie- xo Diana

    1. Thanks Diana. Seems the children go right to sleep once they are buckled up and on the road. I thought papaw Matt would be zonked out too. Kathy was thrilled to get time with her son Korey. With his job , he travels ..and he was close enough to home that he and his wife visited her folks and all their friend up north. So Kathy had a chance to have some time with them. We all may get to see them on the 4th of July. Blessings, stay cool, xoxo, Susie

  7. It's a good thing parents are young and healthy and STRONG!!! That's a lot of work - going to the zoo! I know when my Amber and Mike do things with their four - I get tired just looking at the pictures!
Love your family and love seeing pics! Even if I feel just a tad tired from looking at them....my age is definitely starting to show!

    1. Linda, I get wore out staying in the house and getting down on the floor to play with the kids. Carrying any of them around very long isn't easy either. LOL. Oh to be as strong as I was in my 40's.
It is getting hot here again. Honestly I can not believe the heat we had in spring. Take care and stay cool, xoxo, love you, Susie

  8. Hello,
I agree, send those hugs, texts, calls and e mail. A dear friend of ours is in the hospital, an infection ran up his leg .. down to the toes, to the groin.

The zoo is so fun! Thank you for sharing.

    1. Carla, Life can be short, we need to make the most of it...showing our family that we love them everyday. I did not know that our neighbor was ill, they are private. She had been in and out of the hospital. So sad. I would have helped in any way.
I am thrilled the children went to the zoo. I will ask them about the animals when I see them. I know they will enjoy telling us. Blessings, take care, hug your boys, xoxo, Susie

  10. Hi Susie, A lovey post and a beautiful family. It is so much fun watching children experience new adventures. The photos around your home make me homesick for my Indiana home. It has been at least ten years since I've been back.
Here's to a wonderful summer and when the lighting bugs come out, think of me . . . they are one of my fondest memories of childhood in Indiana. We do not have them out here.
    Keep Smiling!

    1. Connie, Thank you. You know it's strange, I have never thought of not having lightening bugs and crickets in summer. I saw the lightening bugs just as the sun set last evening, I love watching them too. There seemed to be plenty. Catching some in jars was one thing we did as children and I hope my great grands do too. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  15. Hi Susie,
Sorry about your neighbor. Prayers for her and her family. Nothing better than a trip to the zoo. Love the zoo. Glad to see the kids had so much fun they needed a nap!!! Happy Birthday to Kathy. I enjoyed the hot weather this weekend too. I am so enjoying our wonderful summer so far. I cannot believe it is going to be July 1st this weekend. Yikes the summer is going way too fast.
    Hugs,

    1. Kris, That is exactly what I thought, summer is already going fast. I think this stems from always counting June, July, and August as summer...from our school days. Our school was out early this year. The heat's been really high this year. But there's been some perfect days here and there and that is what I love. Last night the air was sweet. Kathy enjoyed her birthday because she got to see her son and have some time with him and her friend from old days. Hope your week is going well. Bless you and yours, xoxo, Susie
