Last evening's sunset.
Same shot this morning.
Monday just as the sun was setting, the dusk to dawn light comes on.
This morning the sun hits the shop/garage.
I love getting this view of the sunset.
This morning the sun coming up strikes the tops of the pines , out front. Hot weather but pretty views.
While Ted and I were out driving around, I decided to get some pictures of summer skies.
Blue sky and puffy white clouds...so summertime to me.
My daughter Karen left a bag of her home grown potatoes on the porch while we were out and about. Thankfully she was going to her sister, Angie's, to have lunch. I washed them again and gave these to daughter Kathy, who came for the day, on Saturday. She brought marinade chicken for the grill, a broccoli salad ,and peach pie... I didn't have to do a thing but set the table. Ted grilled corn on the cob along with the chicken. Wonderful lunch. Sorry, too busy visiting and eating to get photos. :):) Kathy , Ted and I talked about her coming up move to a new apartment. Her son Korey and his wife Ashley. So much catching up to be done.
Friday's mail, had a nice surprise from a dear blog friend. Kris at Junk Chic Cottage, had sent me a bag of goodies. How very sweet. Kris is so kind and thoughtful. Thank you Kris !!
A card, dish towel, and chocolate covered sunflower seeds.
Such a beautiful towel, I hung it on the oven handle right away. It's a pretty fall décor. I enjoyed my whole entire holiday weekend. Hope you did too.
Storms brewing in the Gulf ,and in the plains states, floods and destruction. Please send good thoughts and prayers to all in the paths. Be safe everyone. XO
Won't be many summer skies for too long.
ReplyDeleteAdam, Honestly it's been one of the hottest summers I can remember...but I cling to it , because I know what is coming. Not a big fan of winter. I almost want to cry because the daylight hours are getting shorter and shorter. Bummer. :):) Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Susie, It will be a good day to walk outside this morning before the possible rains comes this afternoon. I am not to worried about winter because I don't have to worry about the snow removable with living in an apartment. I am trying to catch up with my friends and I always enjoy seeing your pictures and hearing about family. Have a great day. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend Shirley.
ReplyDeleteHi Shirley, I am so happy to hear from you. It is good to not have to worry about shoveling snow or salting walkways. But please scoot your feet till you know it done. LOL. I am always happy to have family time and share it. I like reading about others families too. Blessings to you, love, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had a great weekend indeed Susie! That was so sweet of your blogger friend to send you some items! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you Pilar. I always love time with my daughters , so Saturday was so fun. I couldn't beat the offer of the things Kathy brought. My gosh, so good. Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend also. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo glad your weekend was good.
ReplyDeleteYep, like you, I want to hang onto summer..we have a short fall and it usually jumps feet first into winter...brrr
BJ, I am not looking forward to winter...I fear it could be colder than usual, since summer was so hot. Almost dreading the next few days with hurricane (?)left overs coming up thru the plains. Blessings to you, love, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSounds like a wonderful dinner was on your table! (Beautiful potatoes, too -- very clean!). And what a fun package from Kris!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, I truly enjoyed my weekend. Almost as much as if I were still working....I always loved 3 day weekends. I am amazed my daughter grew those potatoes...what a gardener she has turn out to be. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteLove your summer skies. I adore getting a seasonal dish towel. Sister Mildred just sent me one with a cute squirrel and acorns.
ReplyDeleteKaren, Just a couple towels for the season is enough décor for my kitchen. I am not one who overly decorates. I do most of my seasonal décor on the porch. Glad MIldred sent you a towel too. I miss her blog. Is she still doing it or am I just not getting it on my list. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSnail mail is the best. xx oo
ReplyDeleteBlog pals are extra special!!
My friend Lori lives in a flooded area of Wisconsin. Today they are to get more rain, up to 6 inches. They are sandbagging.
Carla, I am terrified of flooding. We have had flash floods while we have lived here and have to use our pumps. I hope the rains fall apart. I am worried about my g.daughter living in Tampa, with the storms brewing there in the Gulf.
DeleteI do love getting mail. My sister and I write each other every week, some times 2 or 3 letters a week. We call each other our own therapist. We live 5 miles apart, she does not and will never use a computer. :) She does call once in a while. Blessings to you and yours, stay safe. xoxo, Susie
Love the sun coming through the trees! Great sky pics and pretty clouds. That meal sounds really good. What a sweet surprise in the mail!
ReplyDeleteNonnie, You can see why I loved my holiday weekend. My daughter actually treated us to the meal. LOL. Other than drinks and corn.

ReplyDeleteMissy, I was surprised at my daughter's gardening. She has grown some tomatoes, cucks, zucchinis, green beans and the potatoes. Oh also some pumpkins. I jokingly told her I wish I had let her have a garden when she was growing up. :) Hope you are doing well , I fear we are in for heavy rains for about 3 days. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteBeautiful sunsets and morning sun! Love them.
ReplyDeleteBlogging friends are the best, I have enjoyed making so many!
Your dinner and fellowship with family sounds so nice, one of the great things of having family live near by. Thank your sharing.
Blessings,
Sue
Hi Sue, I love that my children are near, but wish we all lived even closer. I think of the suppers we could all cook up together. LOL
DeleteHope your weekend is going to be a nice one. Rain here and it's our 50th Pork Festival in our county. Heavy rain later into Sunday. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Chocolate covered sunflower seeds - those sound Yummy! What a nice gift from a blog friend. Your sunset pictures are so pretty, Susie. And those clouds are mysterious looking and lovely. The homegrown potatoes are wonderful. I just made homemade potato salad for Labor Day weekend. So glad you had a nice weekend, Susie. I got to see Francesca!
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, My mother could only cook a few things real well. Potato salad was one of them. My daughter Karen, that grew the potatoes makes it just like mommy...so good. I have received gifts from Kris many times...she is so darn thoughtful. Just one of those people you would love to be with as g.friend. Just like you, young lady. :):) I know that I am older than so many blog friends, but there's always something in common with others. Like I think of you with your new little grandgirls...tickles me thinking of you buying little things for each of them. :) Blessings to all of you, love you, xoxo, Susie
DeletePerfect pictures to show the climate changes in a day, well taken. Looks like you are having busy day...
ReplyDeleteThank you. My past month has been run, run ,run. Nothing too important, but enough so that my needs are on the back burner. I need my cataracts taken care of soon. LOL. Blessings to you for a great weekend, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, without ever having met you in person I feel that we both are so much alike in our love of the skies and changing light. My husband and I both take so much joy from the sky and views from our windows and garden each day, a little thing really, I guess, but like you it all means so much to us. I think we appreciate it so much more than when we were younger, do you?
ReplyDeleteChocolate covered sunflower seeds... sounds quite yummy. Great countryside photos with contrasting green crops and blue sky with clouds! Love it!!
