Great Time.....

This is an old picture from a previous 4th of July. Sister Pam, me , daughters Angie and Liz.
This is Ted and I with great grandson Max when he was a baby. He is 3 1/2 now. So these pictures are 3 years old.  I still have not found any more pictures . Have not tried to load any from my camera.  Scared of what might happen.
We had a great fourth at my daughter Angie's  house. 58 people where there running in and out and playing in the yard and eating in the house and garage. The big kids played corn hole, the little ones played in the wading pool outside and lots of us right there playing with them.  Then there was lego building inside, coloring books and many other toys.
My brother George and his wife Sally came all the way from Alabama to join us. We laughed, told stories on one another . The fellows told their golf and fishing stories.  Recipes were exchanged among the women.
We had so much fun  and good foods.  But mostly we had family love to share. I am not sure if big brother will come all the way from Alabama  again.
Ted did very well on the 4th and yesterday. No one was sick, so he could take his mask off. limited his hugs. Hoping the weekend will be good. Monday is the start of a week of chemo infusions.  Please keep us in your prayers. I am so very grateful to all of you. XO

  1. Yay for a wonderful 4th of July with family and friends. Glad that Ted was able to get a few hugs at least. 🙂 Yes, I will pray for this coming week of treatment that the medicine will do its work with the least amount of discomfort.

    1. Thank you Linda. I am grateful for the prayers. It was such fun to be with little kids and see how well they were getting along and enjoying the outdoors. Lots of sunscreen and shade. :) Ted loved every minute. The girls made him special foods...like banana pudding, and banana breads to bring home. He loves when they spoil him. LOL Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Thank you dear Saimi. I hope your holiday was good too. I am so thankful for the prayers and well wishes from all. Yes, 58 family and a few friends. I was shock how many showed up. there was plenty of foods. Many seating was scarce at times. LOL.. It was the old days at mommy and daddy's house during holidays...you got a plate of food and sat just anywhere to eat and talk. I loved it so very much. Ted did too. He was still laughing later at home as we talked about the crazy stories of my brothers. Growing up, I did not always appreciate my big family...as we age we learn what truly is important in life, don't we honey. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

    1. Nonnie, Growing up , I just did care for such a big family in mom's tiny house. But we survived and grew up to appreciate one another. I think Mom only wanted us to be kind to each other and love our families. She would have been happy. Thank you for the prayers for Ted's chemo infusions. It will be good to get this week over with. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  8. Susie, I'm so glad you had a wonderful time on the Fourth of July. You sure needed this festive day after all you've been through. I'm glad to hear that Ted did well that day. I'm not familiar with corn hole, but my son loved Legos when he was little. That was nice of your brother to come all that way to visit.

Yes, you and Ted have been in my prayers the whole time. : )

Wishing you good July days, Susie.

    1. Thank you Sheri. I am so happy to have wonderful friends praying for us. Ted and I did indeed need that great holiday filled with love, fun and food. It was like old times. Corn hole is a game played tossing bags filled with dried beans or corn at a board on opposite sides with a hole in the middle. I just watch. It's similar to horse shoes. Blessings to you sweet friend, xoxo, love you, Susie

    1. Diana, Thank you for your prayers. I am so anxious to be done with this coming week. I feel I am starting to wear out. It's the constant routine of being nurse and trying to cook, clean and keep the house going. No time for myself. As you know from your own experience. Blessings to you and your family, hope all are well. ,love you girlfriend, xoxo, Susie

    1. Debbi, Ted's chemo this time was in a shot that went in his tummy. He was happy, it only took a couple minute as opposed to an hour IV drip. It will work on his lab numbers though, that's the bad part. Oh yes, our 4th was a greatly appreciated day for Ted and I both. He did so well too. Blessings to you , xoxo, Susie

  20. It is wonderful to hear that you and Ted had a lovely family get together. We were invited to Steve's sister's and enjoyed seeing everyone. She had a bedroom set up for Steve and when it was time to eat he took a nap. He's still having a terrible time with the smell of food and keeping it down. It was so much fun to do something normal with family.
You are both in my prayers.
God is Good . . . All the time! He is with us :)
