Bits Of Fall....

Love catching the setting sun when I can.
There's been an abundance of these yellow butterflies this year.  I love them all.
Here's a few things from the Horton's store in town.  I have to tell you this story. I saw a cat in the backyard a month ago. I thought, "Whose cat is that ?" Then it rose up and flew into the back woods. LOL. It was a great horned owl.  At near twilight it looked like a cat on the ground.  Well I have not seen those rabbits any more either. :)
Throw nothing away, make pumpkins instead.
Now these metal ones would be a bit of work. :)   I would like some for the porch., but am happy with my cloth pumpkins in a basket.
Tuesday Ted and I went to the bone marrow clinic in Indy, at the Franciscan hospital.  Dr. Akard, did not say for sure what had happened to Ted to cause the fever. He did say he wanted Ted to got to the heart clinic, in the same building for a breathing test. Then he will be going back to the bone marrow clinic right afterwards. This will take place next Wednesday.  They have a hold on the maintenance chemo for this month. In the mean time  Dr. ordered an inhaler for Ted and a steroid med.
I do not see much energy in Ted. He seems to be tiring easier. He really isn't doing anything but a little walking. Ted also has an appointment with his heart doctor later this month. I pray that visit will help Ted. I think he needs to be back on some of his original heart meds.
Please keep praying for Ted. I am so grateful to all of you. XO

  2. I love your Horton’s and follow them on Facebook just to see all their eye candy! Your flying cat made me laugh!
Susie, I pray for you and Ted every day and will forever! I actually prayed for y’all before Ted got sick just because Louis Dean and I love y’all so. Remember the photo of you two that you sent me years ago? It’s still on my fridge at eye level on the right side - and I see it every single time I open the refrigerator.
Praying the medical team and his doctors figure out the best way to get Ted well again as soon as possible. I think you are right....he may simply need his heart meds. Tired is much better than some other symptoms. His body has been through so much it’s no wonder he has little energy.
I’m a little concerned for you, Honey. Have you rescheduled your eye appointments? You have to take care of yourself so you can take care of Ted.
    Love and prayers always......

    1. Linda, Until Ted gets much better I do not dare do anything that would make it hard for me to care for him. My daughter wants me to schedule that scoping again during Christmas break , she said she would help us then. I am so grateful for you and LD being my true friends that I have not met. LOL. I feel like I know the whole family. It makes me happy. Yes, I pray those drs can help Ted get better. Today he seemed to be more alert, making me think he is a bit better..at least today I take what I can get. We have gone for drives and looked at scenery, just to get out of the house. We have laughed and talked on the phone to the children. It helps. Love you both . Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

  7. We will keep praying for Ted, and for you to have the strength to keep fighting this thing. May the Lord bless you both with peace and healing. Love your pumpkin pictures. And I always love those little yellow sulphur butterflies. They make me think of dear ones who have gone on to heaven who may be just flitting by to say hello. At least that is what I like to think. I know there is no theological explanation for that...just what I like to think and they make me smile. Enjoy your beautiful fall days. We are getting close to it here in Florida.

  14. That yellow butterfly looks so pretty sitting on the flower. That whole picture looks like Autumn with all the rich colors. That's a funny story about the cat. I've never seen an owl up close before. I bet it was nice going into Horton's once again, Susie. I'm sorry Ted is tired right now. I hope the heart doctor gives him some answers. Yes, I will keep saying prayers for both of you.

It is cooler this morning, and I'm hoping it stays that way throughout the day. Autumn has arrived here in my neck of the woods. : )

I saw 4 great horned owls on Mother's Day while walking with my daughter, when she took me on a break from Ted's hospital room. I was so amazed at how truly large they were. The one in my yard was as big as a cat sitting on the ground . But I was shocked when it flew away , as I did indeed think it was a cat. LOL

I am basically a city slicker, so seeing owls is an amazing thing to me. When Kathy took me for the Mother's day walk on the walking trail near her place, I saw two owlets and the parents . They were all huge with wide wing spans. So just seeing one in my own back yard was breathtaking. Blessings to you and your family, xoxo, Susie

  24. Susie, thanks for telling me that bird is called a Sparrow Hawk. I was wondering about it, cause I was at the Starbuck's drive-through, and he gently glided next to a car and sat on top of it. He was SO BIG! It was unusual to see him in the parking lot, cause I've only seen hawks in nature. I thought it was a hawk, but he didn't look like a red-tailed hawk, so I wasn't sure. Tell Ted thanks for letting me know. Yes, our grandkids really do tug at our heart, don't they? Have a beautiful week, Susie.
