So Scary....

Just as I was loving the nicer weather we had the past weekend  and at the start of this week, things can change so quickly.  In the early afternoon storm and tornado warnings started on the TV.. Oh so thankful to the hard working weather people. I think all the warnings helped save lives.  Here's today's Indy Star head lines.  With a picture of the Starbucks at the Markland Mall in Kokomo, Indiana.  That business was wiped out and twenty people locked inside the restrooms. All safe.
We did get in the basement when the reports were that Sharpsville was in line of a tornado. We just live 5 miles from there.   There were many  tornado warnings and no one killed or seriously hurt. Thank the Lord.
Today we will have more chances of storms, hopefully nothing like yesterday.
This is our lawn this morning, so green again.  The bug man came and did the second treatment  of the four we contracted to have. I have not seen any kind of bug in our house since they came and treated for the ants in April. Nothing. The same young man came this time also. He's a good polite person.  He said they will come spray the outside on a dry clear day soon..
I think our deck plans may be on hold for a bit. As the mayor of Kokomo asked people to stay away for a while. They only need volunteers to help with clean up. We always shop the Menards and Lowe's stores there in Kokomo for any building material. It's so close (20 miles), less distance on the road with a trailer full of wood.
Thanks to all who  were concerned about us here.  Especially my daughters, I am blessed and I truly appreciate all of you.  I am saying my prayers of thanks today. Plus sending out prayers for those that lost their homes in yesterday's tornados . XO

  7. Tornadoes are a terrifying thing. I'm so glad you are safe and so thankful for early warning systems. Even my phone has an alert on it for weather-related warnings. I had no idea, and I had not put it there. Hopefully your tornado-creating conditions will soon be over. Have a good weekend, Susie. xo

    1. Judy, We do have the tornado warnings on our phones and we have a weather radio also. Even my grandson who has a degree in meteorology followed the storms from Utah on radar maps. Today is pretty so far...the rains may be here this evening...hoping not. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Jeno, Thanks for stopping by. Yes, the weather is unpredictable... those early warnings are really saving lives. There were only about 15 minor injuries during the Kokomo tornado. What a blessing. Hope all is well where you live, bless you, xoxo, Susie

  14. Oh no, tornado warnings in your area, Susie! I'm so glad that you are safe. I can't believe the Starbucks was hit (my favorite coffee shop). But so glad that the people there were safe. Susie, I have to ask you, "does Ted mow ALL of the front lawn?" It's such a vast area and it looks gorgeous! I so wish I had lots of space like this and a big front porch. You are so lucky, girlfriend. hehehe

Stay safe from the tornados, Susie, and take care.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Sheri, It's been kind of crazy on and off weather here lately. The rian truly helped with our lawn...it was getting brown and crunchy. Ted does mow with a mower called a zero radius turn..but once in a while he leaves a spin mark on the lawn from trying to mow too fast. I call him down on those. LOL. I do love that he trims the flowerbeds and edges well. Tornadoes can be destructive ...so we were blessed that it was north of here...but sad for those in it's path.Thankful no one was seriously hurt or killed. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie

  15. Hi Susie,
We are ok but the second tornado went right through our woods. Trees are down around our house and pond. Huge trees. We will be forever cleaning up. We got power restored last night. And our house is fine. I am going to try to blog tomorrow. Exhausted.
