Quiet Drives.....

Ted and I have been taking some drives around our area, just to enjoy the evening hour.
I love to get photos of the clouds and sunsets.
Here's the Cargill's at the edge of Tipton .  I really liked the yellow sky and clouds.
The sun is slipping below the tall corn here near our road.
This is a shot of the new phone tower near town.  You can only see it with the puffy clouds behind it.      This weekend has been a bit quiet for us. Ted did a favor for the neighbors, making a wheel chair ramp for Chrissy' s father to be able to visit their house again. Then we went to town to see our grandson Jake's new house. His mom and aunt Kathy were working in the kitchen. Actually washing the insides of the cabinets and getting them ready.  Jake has his bedroom ready and his office set up.  I like the house and it's in a wonderful neighborhood.
Wishing all of you a great holiday. Still praying for the flood victims.  XO

  1. Such a kind thing to do, making the wheelchair ramp. Your photos of evening are beautiful, Susie. I love the grain bins and skies. It's always a joy to see our grandkids, isn't it. Have a blessed Lord's Day tomorrow and nice holiday weekend. We'll be seeing a little grandson whose birthday party was postponed a week because of the wedding. Summer is always so busy! Yes, praying for victims of the flood. Hard to even imagine the devastation.

    1. Judy, The neighbor girl cried when Ted he would not take any money for making the ramp. We try to care for each other out here in the country. She said her father had not been over for two years. My gosh, I wish she had mentioned it sooner. Happy birthday to your grandson...He won't regret postponing his big day. Blessings to all, xoxo,Susie

  3. My dad used to take us on 'little drives' when I was young, it was always the best of times...
I love a drive around the country, not the hustle and bustle of city roads, just leisurely drives, the kind that makes impatient drivers nuts :)
Love the cloud shots, so peaceful and serene.
    Hugs,

    1. Jo, When we were young, our mother would sometimes drive us around of an evening and we could see into other homes, cause it was an innocent time in life, people left their curtains open and doors too. We always like being with mommy....cause if she spotted a clock on someone's wall or picture , she say something like, oh so pretty. Daddy would drive us down a road with a pipe sticking out toward the road and smelling water would drip from that pipe..we called it egg water, that's what it smelled like. LOL..Oh the memories. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  4. Such beautiful photos of your drive!
Our weekend has been quiet, too. Today we met my youngest son for lunch to celebrate his birthday - which was August 11th! Then I came home and took a two hour nap. It's nearly 10:00 and we are ready to go to bed. LD just got out of his bath so I will say Good night!

    1. Linda, Happy birthday to Ben. I think he is your youngest, right? Ted and I keep busy, but come time for the Wheel and Jeopardy, we are usually ready to do battle with the answers. When we went to LA..we got to be at two tapings of the Wheel and Jeopardy. I called my daughter and told her I just talked to Alex Tribek...She said , "did he have to call you down for yelling out the answers." LOL. Blessings for a fun holiday. xoxo, love you, Susie

  9. Susie, I really enjoyed your pictures of the drive around your area. You know, taking drives in the country is one of my favorite things. The skies are so pretty here. I wish I saw the sunsets more, they are a bit different than the sunrises. That is wonderful that you and Ted are taking drives in the evening. You will come across many interesting things I'm sure.

    1. Missy, I love slow drives with the windows down to enjoy the fresh air. I will never understand people burning rubbish on a calm sweet day. It happens in the country side. That ruins my drives. :( I am loving the colors of the sunsets lately. Have a great Labor Day. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Kris, I wish that neighbor girl had ask sooner...she said her father has not been able to visit for two years. So sad. Her hubby is a good farmer, but doesn't know wood working of any kind. We do not mind helping them, as they in turn let us put our leaves on the fields. Hope you and Terry have a great Labor Day...I know you will be working on your house...so exciting though. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
