Tipton County Pork Festival....

The Tipton county pork festival opened yesterday. The fest is set up right around the courthouse square.
Crafts , wares, and plenty of good foods. Entertainment this evening and tomorrow night.
Ted and I met Angie and Kathy for lunch today.  I had the pulled pork b-b-q.  You had to eat it with a fork....too big to pick up to eat. Angie had the b-b-q also. Kathy and Ted had pork on a stick....a tenderloin about 2 inches thick. Ted ate his and half of Kathy's. LOL
I love the art tent. Where pros and amateurs show their photography and art works. This is an oil painting that won. It's an Indian with buffalo in the background.
This was a beautiful picture of Taylor Swift , done by a middle school girl.  Really good work.
Stopped by Horton's for a few pictures.  I love this turquoise mixed with rust colors.
Sweet cloth pumpkins on a plaid tablecloth..
Outside by their little shed ,some fall décor. I loved the jack-o-lantern cans.
These are bigger...would be cute with a mum popped inside. It was a warm day at the fest. Ted and I did not stay long. I just can't do all that walking and looking. I truly do not need any more decorating things. So we left Angie and Kathy, the young people, to look thru tents and visit with townspeople. It was fun and made me think of the "good old days" of when I would walk all day on Fridays with Angie. Then we'd be back again on Saturday to watch the parade with all her sisters and the grandkids. I miss those wonderful times.
If you are near central Indiana come to the festival for a good meal and some fun.  Be safe. XO

  1. When I read the title I said to myself "Pork Festival?" But it looks like great fun. Wish I was close enough to go with you.

    1. Kathy, This festival has been going on the 1st weekend after Labor Day for many years now. There's always some good entertainment...usually country type music. This county has a lot of pigs and corn....so I guess that's why it's a pork fest. Blessings to you and Joe, xoxo, Susie
p.s. Kathy would you please pray for my granddaughter who is Tampa. I worry for her to be safe this weekend during the horrible hurricane. I have prayed for the whole state too. Thanks. :).

  2. This sounds so fun, Susie. I love festivals. That painting of Taylor Swift by such a young lady is fantastic. I hope she continues to pursue art.

We have some fall fests coming up in the city and country. I am so excited. I do get you on the heat and I have to say, my poor old back takes a beating with a lot of walking!

    1. Blondie, I love fall festivals. I just can't walk as much as I would like.. I loved when we would go to the covered bridge festival, or the blueberry fest. We used to go to one in Lagrange county called Corn School. That was when my brother Miles and his wife lived there.(they are in heaven now) Hope you get to a couple of fests and enjoy yourselves. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  3. Now that's my kind of festival, one featuring yummy food! I love pulled pork. I'm with you on having lots of decorating things. If I do treat myself to something new (which doesn't happen that often any more), I have to get rid of something I don't need. Off it goes to the GoodWill!

    1. Donna, We should all give something away as we bring in a new item. I really have to work on that. I try to buy things that will help hold other things LOL...like helping me be corralled or better organized. Blessings to all, xoxo, Susie

  4. I wondered about pork festival, too and then I remembered how my friends here from Illinois and Indiana always serve pulled pork at our pot lucks. That sandwich looks really good. Will your granddaughter be trying to evacuate from Florida or stay where she is?

    1. Nonnie, There is good food at the fest. I never buy unless it's the Lion's Club, Kawanis Club or the pork tents. We ate from the Lion's club on Friday. Our Sierra had to keep working...so she bought water, candles, flash lights and non perishable foods. Take all her windows ..I told her to gather her pillow, cushions and blankets also. To get her money and ID and keep on her person. I fear for her...but pray she and her dear friend will be safe...I call them the two broke girls. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Praying for your granddaughter, Susie. I didn't realize she was in Florida. When the time comes for people to evacuate, I've heard many have ran out of gas, so that can be scary out on the roads also. All of Florida is in my thoughts right now, and I'm hoping that this storm coming to Georgia is not as bad. Thank you for your prayers for Nel, Susie. : )

    2. Thank you Sheri. As of early this Monday I heard that Sierra and her room mate were doing fine and did not lose their power...as the hurricane slightly change it's course after FT. Myers. Thank you for the prayers. I will pray for Nel till this storm runs out. Blessings, xoxo, love , Susie
