Sweet Layla....

Great granddaughter Layla just turned three last week. Her mom made her this ice cream cake for her birthday party. She is blowing out the candles.
Look how happy she is once the candles were blown out.  Love that sweet face.  She has on her new Rapunzel dress that her grandma Lizzy bought her.  She is at that age where she wants to be a princess everyday.
Here she is in new PJ's with her new dolls. Tangled Rapunzel and Ariel little mermaid. Beautiful Layla came into our lives right before my brother Mark passed away from a stroke.  Three years now. I miss Mark and wish he could have known Layla.
Yesterday afternoon, Ted picked up all the twigs and sticks from our whole yard. I was so happy he did this.  He has one of those grabber devises and used it to load up the wheelbarrow.
Now come a calm day we can burn all these twigs. It made a big pile.
Monday evening's sunset. So pretty. I love all the colors.
I want to tell all of you about my dentist visit. I went yesterday to the endodonist . He took another x-ray. Probed around some. Said he did not see anything that needed attention. Then he tells me in depth about sensitivity.  This may help some of you. I had that sinus infection and he thinks it was lingering somewhat. Dr. Aslin said , "if you have a reaction to heat or cold and it doesn't last longer than a minute, it's most often just plain sensitivity. But if the pain last longer or happens for absolutely no reason, it means something is wrong."
I was happy to not have any work done and I only had to pay two dollars and fifty cents , may share with my insurance.  I prayed in the waiting room, in the chair and if my legs had not been jelly when I left that office, I could have done a happy dance.
Hoping all of you are having a good week. XO

  1. Happy Birthday sweet Layla. Oh, how fun that she loves Aerial. My girls did too when they were little. Ted sure is working hard outside gathering all those twigs. The yard looks so nice. So glad to hear that all went well at the dentist office. I think you have the prettiest sunsets where you live, Susie. They are a treat to see.

    1. Sheri, One day Liz said she heard Layla and her mommy coming in the back door. Layla yells "Hi Gigi, It's me Ariel " She had decided to changed her own name to the little mermaid's name. So funny and sweet. Sheri, I am thrilled to be done with the dentist for another 6 months. Blessings to you and yours, love you, xoxo, Susie

  6. Happy Birthday to your sweet Layla!!! She is adorable!
Picking up twigs is a good thing to do. We use them for kindling out fireplace and in the outdoor fire pit.
Praise God you had a good report from the dentist!!! Now you can rest easy!!
I'm so sorry about you losing your brother. I can't imagine losing ours - so we must love our siblings while we can. My sisters and I will be cooking and serving after the funeral for a dear family friend's son who passed away Monday. He was just a young man.....

    1. Missy, Those ice cream cakes that Layla's mommy makes are delicious. We had some very scary winds last week. I was in fear of losing roof shingles. Missy, I honestly was so relieved when the dentist said it was lingering sensitivity. Even though that not fun, it beats drilling and filling. :) Blessings.Hope your weekend is nice too, xoxo, Susie

  15. Hi Susie,
Great info on the dental stuff. Glad your check up was not bad news and just sensitivity. Layla is so cute with her dolls. Happy Birthday to her. Sorry you are missing your sweet brother but I know he sees all that is going on with you and your family. That cake looks so yummy. Happy Friday.
    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs,

    1. Kris, I just have a real fear of dental work. It's me, not the dentist. Both dentists are gentle and kind. Our little Layla being three makes me know I am not getting enough time with her. My brother Mark would have teased and tormented Layla...he loved kids and always would tease them about anything. But loved making kids laugh. I remember my brother with love. I remember when he was a skinny kid with a butch haircut. :) Blessings for a fun filled weekend. xoxo, Susie

    1. Boston Boy, I think you better tie down anything you do not want to lose to the winds. MY gosh the weather report is scary for the west coast and the east coast. Spring is less than 3 weeks away. Hang in there. Be safe. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
