This is what I bought at Horton's yesterday when Ted and I went to town.
Lavender/lemongrass , a room and linen spray. This cute notebook , that has lined paper. I can jot down important things ,like making a grocery list, so I can leave it on the table and remember once I am at the grocery. Ha.
A new garden flag that I really needed. I like being able to see the direction of the wind when I am looking out our windows. It's a canning jar filled with flowers. It says Live, Laugh, Love across the top and Be Kind on the print of the jar. Trimmed in aqua checks.
I absolutely love paper napkins in so many pretty designs and colors. I just like having them around. I will use one with my cup of coffee , or ice tea. These have red geraniums on them.
This is a fridge magnet . I have one or two on my fridge. LOL.
Bigger napkins. They say...save the bees , with a bee and hive on them.
Bought this little cloth bag for my granddaughter who is turning 16 soon. I liked the saying. That's piece of twine(Price tag) on it. These are all the things I bought for both days. Going back later this month for flats of flowers.
Today, my daughter , Angie went to Horton's with me. We really were lucky...it did ice in the wee hours , but was melting when we left for Horton's. Angie liked this crock with fake tulips and a rolling pin , plus a tea towel .
I like these hands to hold jewelry. Little bouquets of tulips everywhere in the store.
This was a cute idea ...a clear jar with a doily and lace tied to it at the rim , with a piece of wire as a hanger. Then just put some little flowers in it.
This was a bunch of wooden plaques with magnets on the back. About 3x 3 in size. Sweet sayings. We had a great time at the store , looking at everything and visiting with many people we knew. That's how it is in a small town. :):) Sampled some fudge...can't be good all the time. LOL.
Angie and I shared a chicken wrap sandwich at the Subway, for a quick lunch. My daughter knows somebody everywhere she goes. She was wishing a young man happy birthday while we were there. I think that is from teaching for years.
Hope all of you had a great Saturday. Tomorrow is promising to be a much nicer, warmer day. Enjoy. XO.
They have so many cute things on display. I would like a shop like that. Your lavender lemongrass fragrance will be so nice.
ReplyDeleteKaren, I have sprayed that scent and it is really nice. So fresh smelling. I will go back to the store before the next market dat and look at things closer. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI enjoy reading your Horton's Posts Susie! So many cute Spring inspired items!
ReplyDeletePilar, Seeing all the pansies in the containers outside Horton's makes me want some but it's really too cold to be digging in dirt here. You know those little flowers are so hardy. Blessings for a great new week. xoxo, Susie
DeleteReally looks like a fun store! Love the pretty notebook and napkins you bought. I'm amazed at how often I find unopened pretty napkins at our thrift. I always pick them up and never have to buy decorative ones at the store. You know that I would not have been able to pass up the red crock that your daughter loved. :) Happy St. Patty's!!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Jann, I am going to look for napkins at the thrift shop. I never have thought of that. I told Angie to get her rolling pin out and if she didn't have a crock, use a big bowl or pail and make an arrangement of faux spring flowers ..she could drape a sweet tea towel over the edge too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI think Horton's would get most of my budget if I lived nearby. So many cute things! I'm a fan of pretty paper napkins, too, and I'm just about out. I need a visit to the Christmas Tree Shoppe, my place to stock up on them.
ReplyDeleteCarol, I some times like a pretty napkin with a cup of coffee and a cookie for a snack. It makes it festive. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI love everything you have pictured. Glad you both had such a nice trip.
ReplyDeleteThank you Mildred. It is always fun to have time with my daughters. Angie and I seem to enjoy laughing and talking over some serious things also. Blessings for a sweet new week there. xoxo, love, Susie
DeleteSo many lovely things, you are spoilt for choice :)
ReplyDeleteI love Hortons from afar !
Hugs,
~Jo
Oh sweet Jo...I will tell the Horton's that you love them. It tickles them that I do post of their events. I can't wait to buy some of their pansies for my containers. :) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo fun seeing all the goodies at Horton's, Susie. I like the small bag you got for your granddaughter. It would be nice to hold make-up. I looooove that white girl statue, and have been looking for one just like that. And the wooden plaques are cool. I love the saying, "but first, coffee" and bought an ornament for my best friend with that saying as well. It sounds like you and Angie had a pleasant day. I'm glad you sampled some of the fudge there too. We have to treat ourselves once in awhile, Susie.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Sheri, I have seen those little statues around before, sometimes with a boy also. I love them too. I saw that "but coffee first" sign and told my daughter I need to make myself a coffee bar. LOL I saw another that said," I need good cup of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus to get started." I liked it too. Oh my yes, that fudge was tasty. I had dream cycle and raspberry samples. Plus they had spreads and crackers for sampling. mmmm, Angie bought some lemon cheese spread. Blessings for a great new week there. Love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo fun. I am so jealous you got to go to Horton's and I live too far away. I love love love that store. Glad you had a wonderful time. Have a great new week.
ReplyDeleteKris
Kris, You know we always enjoy our time with our daughters. Angie and I had some fun laughs and also talked about serious things too.Well while we lunched. While shopping it was, "Oh look at this or that". LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteHi Susie, The things you find at Horton's are wonderful!!! It seems like a great store. I love buying fancy napkins-cocktail size and larger for when have gals over for a visit. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.
Hugs,
Noreen
Noreen, I have lots of cloth napkins but I too love to use my paper pretties when I have company for a lunch or just coffee/treats. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI love everything here! Your granddaughter is gonna love that little bag! My Daughter is 25 and she and all her friends love using these for make up.
ReplyDeleteLisa
Lisa, On 16th birthdays I give a bigger amount of money to the grandkids and so I thought I would put Savannah's in that bag along with her card. For my oldest granddaughter, when she turned 16, I hired a young man to sing 4 songs for her. One of the songs was the Beatle's "Blackbird"...to this day Sierra loves that song. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI love your Hortons! They have a Facebook page and I follow them there to see all their eye candy!
ReplyDeleteYou did good on your purchases!!
Hi Linda, I knew you would face book and see some of the fun things at Horton's . It's funny how people go in the store and we all see different things. I love shopping there, the Horton's are a wonderful tight Christian family. Blessings, love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteOh Susie..you found some darling little spring goodies...I hope Spring is showing signs at your home this week...beautiful here in Texas!
ReplyDeleteBetsy, I am eager to go back to Horton's for a flat of pansies. They had the greenhouse room full of them. I only have the starts of lilies popping thru the soil here. Then with the treat of possible snow tomorrow and sunny 40 on Thursday...it must be confusing for the plants. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteAlways enjoy a trip to Hortons..Thanks for sharing..nice purchases..Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteMissy, it's always fun to shop Horton's . I try not to get carry away buying. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI'm glad you took us along on your shopping spree...so many charming little doo-dads to look at! I love little shops that have stuff like that. Glad y'all had that fun time together! Hope your week is going well so far!
ReplyDeleteDebbi, As you probably know it is hard to resist . Especially shopping in a store that is owner by charming people. I always like to buy something...so sometimes I just buy to give to others. I will be keeping the napkins for myself. Also the lavender /lemongrass linen spray. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI was there! Twice! I took my neighbor ladies on Saturday. We weren't sure we were going because of the weather but we ended up going around 11:00. I bought a top and a vest and a nest with eggs and some little papers that I'll do a blog post on later. And I took my mom yesterday because I wanted to get some pansies. I am leaving for Florida Friday with my sister and our family is celebrating Easter at our house on the 8th. I won't be back until the 1st. So I'm going to have to do some quick Easter prep. I decided to go back and get my pansies. I just hope my husband can keep them alive while I'm gone! I looked at that notebook twice. I decided not to get it because I have a bunch of composition notebooks and I took a junk journal class on Monday evening. It was fun! I'm going to start covering my own notebooks!!!
ReplyDeleteCindy
Cindy, I almost texted you to see if you were going to Horton's. I will next time. I always look for you. I was with Angie. Was the book signing lady still there. She was from Kokomo. She's going to be at the 4-H building this coming Saturday. Hope you have a fun time in Florida...you should be getting some frequent flier miles. Love, xoxo, blessings, Susie
DeleteHi Susie,
DeleteYes she was still there. I chatted with her for a couple of minutes. I won’t be in town Saturday so I can’t attend her event. But no frequent flier miles. We’re driving! Should be fun. Traffic jams, snow, my sister is sick...lol
I was thinking as I read your post, huh we need a Horton's in my town, but then I heard myself say, NO you would buy and spend too much! Great little store, Susie.
ReplyDeleteSylvia, I know what you mean...I some times wish we had a Trader Joe's, Home Goods, and others...then I think no best not have more stores. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSusie, I love all your treasures. The crock with the tulips is so pretty and bright. I love stores like that where you can find so many great things..Happy Wednesday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteJudy, I just made a reply and it went to the moon, I think...so ..I do love to shop Horton's if not for myself, then for a special gift to others. That crock was adorable. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteI love all of them and like I've said before I'd love to have a store like that here. I sure hope your weather is warmer. We're having snow showers today and brutal winds but I sure hate to complain compared to what some are going through. hugs and love. xo
ReplyDeleteSusie, Our weather for March, all over, is crazy. It's Saturday and a snow swath is going thru but actually missing our town for now. Gee, I have gotten to sit one the porch a few times though. :):) Blessings to you, love you, xoxo, Susie
DeleteSo glad you had fun on your shopping trip...I love all the things ya'll bought...and I, too, love pretty paper napkins...I can't resist them so I have a BUNCH....xoxo
ReplyDeleteBJ, I think all the nice treats you bake up would look good with a pretty paper napkin or not....cause they always look so yummy. I filled that little cloth bag for Savannah with polish and stickers for her nails. Plus big money for it being her 16th birthday. Blessings, xoxo, love,Susie
DeleteGreat finds!! I like napkins too.

Carla
Carla, It must be a girl thing, the pretty paper napkins. Hope you are having nice weather. It's gloomy and a big chance of snow. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteAll your finds were so fun, and what a great place to shop! I loved the mason jar with the doily, such a cute idea! Always fun to find such delightful treasures on a day out :)
ReplyDeleteMarilyn, Some times when I am pinching my budget I just like to go to Horton's for ideas. It was a fun trip, any time I am with my daughters. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteYou found lots of goodies! yea! Happy saturday to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I saw your post on decorated Christmas things, so beautiful. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
DeleteMy, what a fun place to visit! I have never heard of Horton's before, but oh, what cute things they have! Love the zippered pouch :)
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Sunday, dear Susie! Hugs!
Stephanie, Horton's here in my hometown is a family owner business. It started as a hardware store, then home decorating items were added along with a small greenhouse of flowers and plants. It's a good place to fund things for your own home and gifts for friends. I filled that cloth bag with nail polish and nail stickers, and gave Savannah money for her birthday. She take care of her nails, reminds me of my mother. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
