Horton's Spring Open House......

This is what I bought at Horton's yesterday when Ted and I went to town.
Lavender/lemongrass , a room and linen spray.  This cute notebook , that has lined paper. I can jot down important things ,like making a grocery list, so I can leave it on the table and remember once I am at the grocery. Ha.
A new garden flag that I really needed.  I like being able to see the direction of the wind when I am looking out our windows.  It's a canning jar filled with flowers. It says Live, Laugh, Love across the top and Be Kind on the print of the jar.  Trimmed in aqua checks.
I absolutely love paper napkins in so many pretty designs and colors. I just like having them around. I will use one with my cup of coffee , or ice tea. These have red geraniums on them.
This is a fridge magnet .  I have one or two on my fridge. LOL.
Bigger napkins. They say...save the bees , with a bee and hive on them.
Bought this little cloth bag for my granddaughter who is turning 16 soon.  I liked the saying. That's piece of twine(Price tag) on it. These  are all the things  I bought for both days. Going back later this month for flats of flowers.
Today, my daughter , Angie went to Horton's with me. We really were lucky...it did ice in the wee hours , but was melting when we left for Horton's. Angie liked this crock with fake tulips and a rolling pin , plus a tea towel .
I like these hands to hold jewelry. Little bouquets of tulips everywhere in the store.
This was a cute idea ...a clear jar with a doily and lace tied to it at the rim , with a piece of wire as a hanger. Then just put some little flowers in it.
This was a bunch of wooden plaques with magnets on the back.  About 3x 3 in size.  Sweet sayings.  We had a great time at the store , looking at everything and visiting with many people we knew. That's how it is in a small town.  :):) Sampled some fudge...can't be good all the time. LOL.
Angie and I shared a chicken wrap sandwich at the Subway, for a quick lunch.  My daughter knows somebody everywhere she goes. She was wishing a young man happy birthday while we were there.  I  think that is from teaching for years.
Hope all of you had a great Saturday. Tomorrow is promising to be a much nicer, warmer day. Enjoy. XO.

    1. Pilar, Seeing all the pansies in the containers outside Horton's makes me want some but it's really too cold to be digging in dirt here. You know those little flowers are so hardy. Blessings for a great new week. xoxo, Susie

  3. Really looks like a fun store! Love the pretty notebook and napkins you bought. I'm amazed at how often I find unopened pretty napkins at our thrift. I always pick them up and never have to buy decorative ones at the store. You know that I would not have been able to pass up the red crock that your daughter loved. :) Happy St. Patty's!!

    1. Jann, I am going to look for napkins at the thrift shop. I never have thought of that. I told Angie to get her rolling pin out and if she didn't have a crock, use a big bowl or pail and make an arrangement of faux spring flowers ..she could drape a sweet tea towel over the edge too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  4. I think Horton's would get most of my budget if I lived nearby. So many cute things! I'm a fan of pretty paper napkins, too, and I'm just about out. I need a visit to the Christmas Tree Shoppe, my place to stock up on them.

  7. So fun seeing all the goodies at Horton's, Susie. I like the small bag you got for your granddaughter. It would be nice to hold make-up. I looooove that white girl statue, and have been looking for one just like that. And the wooden plaques are cool. I love the saying, "but first, coffee" and bought an ornament for my best friend with that saying as well. It sounds like you and Angie had a pleasant day. I'm glad you sampled some of the fudge there too. We have to treat ourselves once in awhile, Susie.

    1. Sheri, I have seen those little statues around before, sometimes with a boy also. I love them too. I saw that "but coffee first" sign and told my daughter I need to make myself a coffee bar. LOL I saw another that said," I need good cup of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus to get started." I liked it too. Oh my yes, that fudge was tasty. I had dream cycle and raspberry samples. Plus they had spreads and crackers for sampling. mmmm, Angie bought some lemon cheese spread. Blessings for a great new week there. Love you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Lisa, On 16th birthdays I give a bigger amount of money to the grandkids and so I thought I would put Savannah's in that bag along with her card. For my oldest granddaughter, when she turned 16, I hired a young man to sing 4 songs for her. One of the songs was the Beatle's "Blackbird"...to this day Sierra loves that song. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Then with the treat of possible snow tomorrow and sunny 40 on Thursday...it must be confusing for the plants. LOL. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  15. I was there! Twice! I took my neighbor ladies on Saturday. We weren't sure we were going because of the weather but we ended up going around 11:00. I bought a top and a vest and a nest with eggs and some little papers that I'll do a blog post on later. And I took my mom yesterday because I wanted to get some pansies. I am leaving for Florida Friday with my sister and our family is celebrating Easter at our house on the 8th. I won't be back until the 1st. So I'm going to have to do some quick Easter prep. I decided to go back and get my pansies. I just hope my husband can keep them alive while I'm gone! I looked at that notebook twice. I decided not to get it because I have a bunch of composition notebooks and I took a junk journal class on Monday evening. It was fun! I'm going to start covering my own notebooks!!!

    2. Hi Susie,
Yes she was still there. I chatted with her for a couple of minutes. I won’t be in town Saturday so I can’t attend her event. But no frequent flier miles. We’re driving! Should be fun. Traffic jams, snow, my sister is sick...lol

    1. Stephanie, Horton's here in my hometown is a family owner business. It started as a hardware store, then home decorating items were added along with a small greenhouse of flowers and plants. It's a good place to fund things for your own home and gifts for friends. I filled that cloth bag with nail polish and nail stickers, and gave Savannah money for her birthday. She take care of her nails, reminds me of my mother. :):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie
