Blue Skies, With Rain Predicted.......

Some times as I am driving in the country, I will pull over and get a shot of the skies. Seems we can see forever on a day like this.
Big puffy white clouds too. The problem is , it's been in the high 90's, so hot for May. Record breaking highs.
The lawn is looking a bit dry. I will never water it , because our water comes from a well.
Can't risk it ever running dry. The rains are heading our way today, this evening and tomorrow. All from the tropical storm.  This will certainly help our lawn, and all the crops in the fields.
This is the view from the porch toward the west...we have new neighbors, just finishing up their home on the corner. They are a couple that went to school with my daughter Kathy, so their children are grown  and gone from home.
Today, out the backdoor, I could see our Catalpa tree blooming. The bad part, with rain and wind coming, the blooms won't last long.  The wind is here already.
Saw this big flag yesterday beside the Meijer store in Kokomo. Love it.
My clematis is blooming nicely. My mom's favorite color. :):)

The sweet potato vine in my petunias is growing now and it looks very nice with the colors of the flowers.  I have not taken very good care of a couple plants, as I must be watering them too much and not moving them from the heat of the day.  That is exactly why a plant much be hardy to be around me. LOL. I am going to mix up some fertilizer for them.
Hope all of you are enjoying pretty blue skies too. XO

    1. Cindy, We also need rain...and honey I always fear we will get too much...especially if it is coming up our way from the gulf. I hope your garden doesn't drown . It's feast or famine. I think our weather patterns are all crazy the past couple of years. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

    1. Laurie, I know that city water. Oh how I loved it...because it was all I knew. Out here we run it thru a whole house filter, a R.O. system at the sink and I use my brita filters also. LOL. Once a friend said , Does it even taste like water now. LOL. I worry for the world's water. Yes, I did inherit my mom's big old worry gene. LOL. Blessings to you and Garry, xoxo, Susie

  3. Susie, I love the sky shots and probably have way too many of them. I hope you do get rain. It is extremely hot here and the temps are over 100 for the next couple of weeks with no rain in sight. Your flowers are pretty. I need to buy some sweet potato plants. Love the flag pic, too.

    1. Nonnie, I know we are a lot alike when it comes to sky shots. I can't help myself. When I see puffy white clouds in a blue sky...that seems to say summertime to me. We did get rain. The wind is whipping...it is a tropical depression in the Midwest...is what the forecaster said this evening. Hope you all get rain soon. ...it's sad some places are flooding and some are way too dry. Wish it could all be spread out evenly. I had to spray my potato vine today...something's been nibbling it. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  4. Your photos are especially beautiful today! Those tropical storms do weird things. The normal muddy brown water in Galveston has turned to tropical blue due to the storms that aren’t even in Texas!
We are going home today and I’m anxious to see how our yard and garden is looking!
You take care of each other, you and your Teddy Bear! Love you, Susie Q!

    1. Linda, I love you guys too. I hope you get some rain...but not too much. It's sad about the floods and our spots in almost draught conditions. We got some rain and lots of wind. The weatherman said it's the 3rd time ever of a tropical depression in the Midwest. Storms are predicted for tomorrow evening. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  6. Pretty puffy clouds and blue skies. I always love your pictures from the deck looking out to the road. Must be very calming everyday to not have to hear trains, cars noises of city living daily!!! Your clematis is gorgeous. We have a Meijer store a couple of miles from us....I will have to check it out sometime. Have a great evening...blessings. PS thanks for stopping by, always fun to hear from you.

    1. Louise, Some times it is so peaceful and quiet, I love those days. But I for one love to hear trains. I used to live near the tracks in town. I don't like to hear noise or sounds of something running all the time. I know dogs have to bark, but I also know a well care for dog won't bark all day. So I don't have to hear the lady in towns dogs out here. LOL Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Cindy, I will text you one day when I am there. It would be fun to even met at the store. LOL. WE went to Menard's, Wal-mart, and Meijer....then get home and Meijer had called and Ted's meds were in. LOL. He will pick them up after golf tomorrow. I am getting a work-out moving the flowers here and there to shade them from too much direct sunlight. Crazy weather. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  9. I had an email from our blog buddy Sheri from Red Rose Alley and she wanted me to let you know she can't comment on your blog right now. It seems like blogger is really messing up our comments and emails on our blogs. She can read it but not comment. Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon! Love the deep color of the clematis and the sweet potato vine too. How pretty! Have a good evening my friend! Hugs!

    1. Thank you Diane. I did receive an email fro Sheri. I am scared what will happen to my blog...as windows 10 is planning on downloading new up-dates tomorrow. Plus after I posted today something popped up about cookies...OMG, I don't know cookies from brownies on the computer. I hope I do not have to call the Geeks in. The potato vines are so pretty they come in bright green and burgundy. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

    1. Hi Sylvia, I hope you do not get more rain. WE throughout the Midwest could use about an inch of good rain. I am praying those that need rain get some rain. Praying that the flooding stops and no more rain there. Be safe. Our temps are staying in the hi 80's still. You know I want the perfect weather , as to sit out on the porch. Blessings and hugs to you and your husband. xoxo, Susie
