Some Bits Of Our 4th.....

When we eat at Angie's is a line up of food stations all along the counters. We line up and fill our plates with what ever we like and take our seats.
My daughters, Liz, Angie, Kathy, and Karen.    (Liz and Karen are my twins)
Lynzie, Mark and Max seated under one of the awnings.
Max and baby Luke ready to play on the floor with a big bag of toys their mommy brought.
Luke is walking now , not so much on his own ..but if you hold his hand he will walk beside you. Lynzie will have her hands full when he decides to take off.

Emma and her daddy Matt  are getting ready to play a game of cornhole. This is one game everyone plays.
Daughter Kathy with her son Korey and his wife Ashley. With the pioneer corn field behind them.  Korey and Ashley caught their flight right after lunch , headed back to Seattle, Wa.
I have not seen them since Christmas of 2016...so I had to get hugs and pictures.
The newest baby in the family is great nephew Reed, being held by great niece Erin.
I did not get lots of photos...hard to round people up for photos. So we usually swap with one another.  The lady in light green with white hair is my sister in law , Sally. She and my brother George made it home for our gathering, from Alabama. We had most all the family gathered this year.  Lots of  fun...even though it was so very hot.  It was a great day of talking, laughing , eating and playing...either games or with the little ones.
This wee figure on the boardwalk is our little Layla. She,  her daddy Brock and mommy Emily, went to Florida for a vacation.  I missed being with them. I am happy they can have  a vacation, since they do work hard and need a break.  Hope all of you had a great family time for the holiday.
We are getting a cool down tomorrow.  Believe me, I am thrilled. Wishing all of you a wonderful weekend. XO

    1. Thank you Laurie. I truly love my family time. We don't seem to ever have enough time together. Especially with my brother, his wife and my grandson and his wife. My older brother drove here from Alabama and said this might be his last trip back home, as he and his wife do not fly (health reasons). My grandson is a jet setter type, for his job, but has little spare time...so this was a blessings to have Korey and Ashley here. Hope you have beautiful weekend. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

    1. I did enjoy the gathering on the 4th wish it could have gone on longer. The heat takes it toll on us. Those ten minute rains usually just turn the air muggy. I take these couple of nice days we are having.
Hope you gets some cooler days too. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Karen, So funny how we older people know and try to pass along some hints. I tell the children to love and cuddle their babies , for they are growing by leaps and bounds. Lynzie actually quit her job to have these special years with her boys. She said it's better that she raise her boys. I admire her so much. Papaw and I will try to get her out with us , along with the boys at least once a month for lunch. I hope we get to have more cooler days. I find it harder to get myself going when it's hot . LOL. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

There were the basic burgers, hot-dogs, b-b-q chicken, salads (taco, pasta,greens)mac/cheese, corn, deviled eggs, slice raw veggies, fruits, strawberry cheesecake, banana crème pies, brownies, and the drinks list was a long one.LOL I did not see any green beans this year. I had a hot-dog, I get two a year. One at class picnic and one on the 4th. I did not eat sweets that day , or lots of food. That's why I can not remember all the food items.:):) Blessings, xoxo, Susie

    1. Nonnie, Little Layla had on her flip-flops. She also was wearing sunglasses. LOL. I hope they kept her cover in sunscreen. We just had the best holiday we have had in years. I think because my big brother has not been home for a few years. It was so good to have them back and my grandson from Seattle and his wife. Happy times. Blessings to you, enjoy this weekend. xoxo, Susie

  16. Family, Food, and Fun! What a lovely way to spend the 4th! Beautiful photo of you and your daughters! Side note, I noticed one of your daughters is wearing an Old Navy Flag tee! I picked up two different shirts since they were on sale! I wore one on the 4th as well :)
