Tuesday we had lots and lots of rain. Here it is raining and the sun is shining.
Raining so hard it splashed on the porch.
Tuesday was a busy day. Layla sent us a card in the mail and we received it yesterday. She will be three and a half . She is a sweet little beauty. Reminds me of my oldest granddaughter.
Layla told her mother this was an email for nana...don't you love it. :):)
She also drew papaw and nana on the inside of her card that was plastered with stickers. Just tickled us.
Tuesday was also check up day for Max and Luke. Looks like little Luke is first up, to see the doctor. I laughed about Max wearing his rain boots and it did rain.
This is our youngest great grand, Leo, 10 months old. He lives in Ohio, so we do not get to see him near enough. He is pulling up...oh dear Margo, get your running shoes on. He is ready to go. His hair is growing back. Some babies lose a little hair and some just about lose it all.
One more rose on Kathy's rose bush. There were three at once, and then this last bud bloomed. You can see the sedum in the background. The bees are loving it. Tinges of autumn in the flowers and trees here. Some of my petunias are getting leggy.
It's low humidity and cooler temps here right now and maybe two more days. Ted, his brother Mic and son-in-law Matt are cutting wood today , since it's nice. Wishing everyone a great day. XO
Them are so of the cutest little grands! I cant wait til one day when I will have some. That picture of of maw and paw made me laugh. Kids are so darn cute.ReplyDelete
Layla's Gigi texted me and said..hey what is wrong with your eyes..I said papaw and I are blind, we have no irises. LOL I will keep that little drawing, I still have a couple of her dad's when he was not much older than her. :) You are going to love grandkids. :) Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Oh those precious little faces, Susie! How you must love them! Now that's the kind of email I would love too. My great-grand just turned two and he will be welcoming a little sister near Christmas. I can't wait!ReplyDelete
Glad you got the rain, we've had some and are being blessed with a little cool down too, very welcome. I think I'll let myself start getting excited about fall in a couple more weeks!
Dewena, I am not so ready for full blown out fall decorating yet. I do love fall, but I tend to get sad...I think it makes me miss my mother more at that season, as it was her favorite.Delete
Oh a brand new baby...got love on them then and soak up that sweet baby scent. I keep telling the grandkids I did not get enough sniffing in on the babies. LOL. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie
What a sweet card Susie! Your great grands are so adorable!ReplyDelete
Pilar, I just can hug those little babies enough. One day you will know what I mean. They just steal your heart. Blessings to you sweetie, xoxo, SusieDelete
We had a decent storm last night of rain.ReplyDelete
Adam, Hope you needed your rain...We have had just enough for now. Wow, loving this cool down. It's been a super hot summer. Take care, blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Layla is a beautiful little girl and I love her card to her Nana. A real keeper. Those are precious boys at the doctor's office. So cute. Little Leo and his cute expression. I hope his momma is ready with those shoes. What fun all these kids are. Susie, you are certainly blessed and it's plain why. You give so much love. I even feel the love in your comments to me! The wet deck is so pretty. I love rain. I think I've said it more than once. The rain we've had has helped out our very hot summer and cooked temps and made things green again. So thankful.ReplyDelete
Nonnie, Our lawn is finally getting filled back in with healthy grass...been kind of brown and crispy in places.Delete
Oh yes, I love our babies. I like seeing you show yours grands pictures. I know how we all out here in blogland love our families. It's important to tell them and show them. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
We have been getting so much rain. Even a few sunshine showers like yours. It is still very hot here -- in the 90s so the rain helps with cooling things off for a little bit. No sign of fall around here!ReplyDelete
Your great-grands are just so adorable. Love the email and card to you. Layla is a character for sure. Leo is a charmer. And Max and Luke are just too cute for words. I know you love your family and I can see why.
Kathy, Since you have a grandcharmer in your own family...you know how much love we can feel for them. Makes me a big softie too.Delete
Wishing all of you no more rain till some dissipates. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Your great grands are adorable! It is my great wish to see my grandchildrens' children some day!ReplyDelete
Linda, I never dreamed I would have great grands...but once grandkids get married then here they come. LOL. I often say where did all the years go. I remember be a young mother myself, never thinking beyond my own four daughters. I know that I blessed. I too hope you one day get to hold a wonderful great grand of your own too Linda. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
What sweet babies and a beautiful rose! Sounds like a good time to get the firewood cut. It rained here for a short time and it looks so beautiful and green now! Hugs!ReplyDelete
Diane, I just got finished helping Ted stack the load of wood he brought home. Matt fell a dead ash tree in the side yard and The 3 men cut the tree into junks and split into the right size for fireplaces. They took a lunch break together and enjoyed that. They will be cutting more. Most of the trees at my daughters are ash and the ash bore has killed them. So it's plenty of fire wood.Delete
Love all our babies. I will love on other babies too. LOL. They are a precious gift. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
Your great Grands are adorable! Getting mail is precious!! We have one who lives near Baltimore so we don't see him much either.....except on FB. Thankful for that!ReplyDelete

Karen, You having been a teacher, I know you love those moments when you can see a baby or toddler light up from learning. I love my drawings from Layla. She's a chatty little girl. Nice day today, hope yours was also. Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie, don't you laugh at his rainboots. When my son was little about 3 yrs old, while at the pediatrician, he stood up on the exam table and did his impression of the Hulk!! At home he wore his red rain boots everywhere because he thought he was Spiderman!!...:)JPReplyDelete
Oh JP, I love your story of your son's boots. Aren't young one just adorable? I feel blessed with our great grands. I would hug them everyday if I could. Blessings to you, hope you are doing well. xoxo, SusieDelete

Linda, Thank you for those kind words. I would love to get in the floor and play everyday with those great grands. I see how they are growing when I am not with them ….makes me sad to be missing out. LOL. We grandparents love the little ones. Blessings, xoxo, love you, SusieDelete
Your great-grands are adorable! I love the rain boots too. I have a pair but haven’t worn them in awhile. Maybe I need to pull them out. It rained so much on our end that it flooded our pond and the water was running across the road by our neighbors house! Have a great day!
Cindy, It sounds like you need your boots on there. WE had some heavy rain. I see that damp spot in our basement again. We do not any more rain for awhile.Delete
I see how your nieces have grown up and now you see how quickly my greats are growing. I know you must miss the girls being small. Stay safe there. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie
Yes they have grown up 😢 time goes too fast. Our water is back in the pond. I hope the rain stops for you. No one needs water in their basement!Delete

Hi there Susie, hope your week has gone great! Love these rainy pictures....I love rainy days and it leaves everything washed clean and looking fresh as well as being so amazing for the flowers and all things growing. That card you got in the mail is so so cute! Best "email" ever, right? LOLReplyDelete
Thank you Debbi. I love snail mail but Layla called her little doodles "nana's email" that just tickles me. The mums are blooming already. :) Blessings xoxo, SusieDelete

We are getting rain today. It is only 52 here. What?!!! Is this August or October?!!! Stay warm and dry.
Thank you Kris. It was nice here today and yesterday was the best. We have our windows open right now...loving that sweet fresh air smell. 54 would feel like freezing compared to the heat we have suffered thru this summer. LOL. Blessings to you sweet girl, xoxo, SusieDelete
Susie, you baby grands are all beautiful!!! I loved reading about them and can tell you are love them so much!ReplyDelete
sending hugs your way...
Hi June, Oh yes I love all of them so much. There's just never enough time to spend with them , then I see them again and they have grown more. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, SusieDelete
p.s. Always hug Landon for me. :)
Darling family photos! And I must say, judging by those two drawings, Nana is way prettier than Pawpaw. LOL Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Susie!ReplyDelete
Judy, I laughed when I saw our Layla pictures...but loved them to pieces. She was thinking of us and it made me smile. They just grow way to quickly for us grandparents...but I remember wanting my own girls to grow faster...Once my father in law told me this Judy, I will never forget it....He said , "Don't wish your life away. " He was older and wiser than a young mother. . Blessings, xoxo, SusieDelete
So darned cute! Can't wait till my little ones get a bit bigger~ReplyDelete
You must be thrilled to see your great grandchildren often, Susie. Jess came into town over Labor Day weekend, and I got to spend the whole weekend with Francesca and Jess and husband. I love seeing the rain on your front porch. It's strange to me that it's raining there during the last days of Summer. We sure could use rain when we have all the fires in California.ReplyDelete
