Great Grands.....

Tuesday we had lots and lots of rain.  Here it is raining and the sun is shining.
Raining so hard it splashed on the porch.
Tuesday was  a busy day. Layla sent us a card in the mail and we received it yesterday. She will be three and a half . She is a sweet little  beauty.  Reminds me of my oldest granddaughter.
Layla told her mother this was an email for  nana...don't you love it. :):)
She also drew papaw and nana on the inside of her card that was plastered with stickers. Just tickled us.
Tuesday was also check up day for Max and Luke.  Looks like little Luke is first up, to see the doctor.  I laughed about Max wearing his rain boots and it did rain.
This is our youngest great grand, Leo, 10 months old. He lives in Ohio, so we do not get to see him near enough. He is pulling up...oh dear Margo, get your running shoes on. He is ready to go.  His hair is growing back. Some babies lose a little hair and some just about lose it all.
One more rose on Kathy's rose bush.  There were three at once, and then this last bud bloomed. You can see the sedum in the background. The bees are loving it.  Tinges of autumn in the flowers and trees here. Some of my petunias are getting leggy.
It's low humidity and cooler temps here right now and  maybe two more days.  Ted, his brother Mic and son-in-law Matt are cutting wood today , since it's nice. Wishing everyone a great day. XO

  2. Oh those precious little faces, Susie! How you must love them! Now that's the kind of email I would love too. My great-grand just turned two and he will be welcoming a little sister near Christmas. I can't wait!

Glad you got the rain, we've had some and are being blessed with a little cool down too, very welcome. I think I'll let myself start getting excited about fall in a couple more weeks!

    1. Dewena, I am not so ready for full blown out fall decorating yet. I do love fall, but I tend to get sad...I think it makes me miss my mother more at that season, as it was her favorite.
Oh a brand new baby...got love on them then and soak up that sweet baby scent. I keep telling the grandkids I did not get enough sniffing in on the babies. LOL. Blessings to you and yours, xoxo, Susie

  5. Layla is a beautiful little girl and I love her card to her Nana. A real keeper. Those are precious boys at the doctor's office. So cute. Little Leo and his cute expression. I hope his momma is ready with those shoes. What fun all these kids are. Susie, you are certainly blessed and it's plain why. You give so much love. I even feel the love in your comments to me! The wet deck is so pretty. I love rain. I think I've said it more than once. The rain we've had has helped out our very hot summer and cooked temps and made things green again. So thankful.

  6. We have been getting so much rain. Even a few sunshine showers like yours. It is still very hot here -- in the 90s so the rain helps with cooling things off for a little bit. No sign of fall around here!

Your great-grands are just so adorable. Love the email and card to you. Layla is a character for sure. Leo is a charmer. And Max and Luke are just too cute for words. I know you love your family and I can see why.

    1. Diane, I just got finished helping Ted stack the load of wood he brought home. Matt fell a dead ash tree in the side yard and The 3 men cut the tree into junks and split into the right size for fireplaces. They took a lunch break together and enjoyed that. They will be cutting more. Most of the trees at my daughters are ash and the ash bore has killed them. So it's plenty of fire wood.
Love all our babies. I will love on other babies too. LOL. They are a precious gift. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  15. Hi Susie,
Your great-grands are adorable! I love the rain boots too. I have a pair but haven’t worn them in awhile. Maybe I need to pull them out. It rained so much on our end that it flooded our pond and the water was running across the road by our neighbors house! Have a great day!

  24. You must be thrilled to see your great grandchildren often, Susie. Jess came into town over Labor Day weekend, and I got to spend the whole weekend with Francesca and Jess and husband. I love seeing the rain on your front porch. It's strange to me that it's raining there during the last days of Summer. We sure could use rain when we have all the fires in California.
