Slowly Changing....

As some of my mums are blooming , from the rain and heat making the air more like a green house, I see autumn coming. Possibly an early fall.
This mum is in my favorite color next to the pure orange color. The orange ones are the last to bloom.
This one appears daisy like to me. I like to put in in some bouquets.
Friday morning had an odd hazy orange  color in the skies.  The little peak in the distance is the courthouse in town, five miles away.
The sun was out some times this past week. I get to look at this while doing dishes. I see a marigold I plant by the catalpa tree , has finally bloomed. :):) Do you have places in your yard that you love. This is one view I like very much.
This was Thursday some sunshine and it was nice and pleasant, low humidity.
I did not trim the potato vine and it has just taken over. LOL

Looking at this planter and it's potato vine, I see the petunias are getting leggy and droopy...time for a trimming.  If the vine lives, I will just stick in some fake flowers for fall decorations.
I think of all the places in this world. Many going through crazy weather threats and disasters.  Is there any true paradises on earth?  Yes, and  it will have to be your own backyard at times.  We are in for more heat once again, with warnings for the very young and old.  Be safe. XO

  1. Your yard is lovely and I can see lots of favorite places there. I planted some mums this year and hoping by next year they will be full and pretty like yours. I love everything flower and my whole back yard is my favorite unless I let those nasty weeds get the better of me. Our weather has been rather smoky due to the many fires around our parts but there is a hint of fall in the air as the mornings and evenings are getting chiller.
    Have a happy Sunday!!

    1. Saimi, I heard on the weather report that the smoke of the forest fires was going father east...so some of the haze could be from out west...Praying those fires can be put out. I just watered about 20 minutes ago...oh my gosh, I have some weed pulling to do too. Hope your mums take good strong roots. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. Your flowers are still looking fabulous Susie, I had to smile at seeing your potato vine, as ours is taking over also :)
We've had some lovely cooler weather this week, but back to the nineties this week *sigh*.
My brother in England said that they have turned on the heating this week, that's a bit too soon !
Hope you are enjoying your weekend, and enjoying those gorgeous flowers.

  3. Happy Sunday Susie, Your garden is delightful; I love Autumn and especially Mums. I have five plants in our back yard in the bed and four in the front bed. I love them, they remind me of New England. Hope you have a wonderful afternoon.

  4. Yes, I agree with you.....we must made our own paradise. I like the views of your yard. There's always a cozy little spot somewhere to put our eyes when we want to rest them on something pretty.
My favorite colors in the mums are the same as yours. Sadly, they usually are dead by August before they even had a chance to bloom. I normally go out and buy more to replant. One year I'm going to just pull them up and grown summer annuals and then plant the mums in September! Which is coming right up!!! Wish you could wiggle your nose and be at our house that day! We would have so much fun.....

Your September will be busy this year...but so full of exciting good times . Blessings to you and LD...love you guys, xoxo, Susie

  10. Now what a lovely thing to say. Our own back yards. Your back yard has much more character than ours. No matter what I try to do with it, it doesn't live up to my expectations. The soil here is awful, hard clay. So I have tried to transition to things that are native and can survive on their own pretty much. You have beautiful flowers and that tree! What a great thing to view as you do dishes. I enjoy the view out our back windows, but would love seeing a tree like that with sweet flowers at the base. Have a good week.

    1. Nonnie, I have a pretty hosta planted behind the tree...need to dig it up and put it where I can enjoy seeing it. Some place out here get full on sun and it , especially this summer, can just burn a plant up. I like hardy native plants too. I am not such a good garden that I baby any plant. LOL. WE are going on our third year of wanting to build a shed of old doors...it has to get done this fall or Ted will just have to haul all those windows and doors away...I hate clutter. Take care in this heat. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  14. Love all the pictures. Some of my pretties are on their last legs I am afraid. The heat and excessive rain has been an issue. Too dry---water...too wet...move to shed. CRAZY! Oh I love daisy's too. Girl, that potato vine is beautiful! I love it. I grew some one summer and that stuff went like wild fire. I was shocked. Anyway, my husband winded up throwing some away over in a wood pile at the beginning of Fall one year and the next year we saw potato vine everywhere. LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  26. Those potato vines are beautiful even if they do take over. I'd like that. It is seeking very fallish here. Our daughter lives outside Madison where they've had incredible rains and flooding. So has the Coon Valley area, my favorite part of the state. Some places are still so hot, but it's sweater weather up here today. Hope you have a good Wednesday.

    1. Judy, I do worry about flooding. I hate it so much. We are in for heavy rains later today and I am praying it's isn't too heavy. We really do not need any more rain now. The crops are starting to turn yellow as in getting ready for harvest season. I saw the corn ears have drooped. I pray your daughter's area is safe. It's so scary. The weather patterns are odd any more. Blessings to you and your family, xoxo, Susie

  27. Your yard is so beautiful....and vastly different from mine! We are more shade than sun and more hills than flat! Growing things here is a challenge. My hubby gives it his best (his green thumb is inherited from his mom) and we have [some] blooms.
