Please Open A Window....

Remember this is kohlrabi. I have never eaten them. Teddy bought some at the farmers market. I am thinking maybe this is a veggie that has to be picked and eaten in an early stage of it's growth. You know like brussel sprouts or broccoli.  Ted eats these as someone would carrot sticks or celery, I have no idea how one would cook them. Nor do I ever want to know. Ted piles one and sliced it for a snack. It was so pungent, I almost gagged. I took the trash out and sprayed air freshener, after he had eaten it. Oh I wish he would eat the rest in the garage. Or at least outside. LOL

  3. Last year someone gave me these and I made a casserole which was surprisingly good. I didn't save the recipe so it must not have been that good. But raw??????

  4. Hi Susie, If you could hear me, I am laughing as I type. I have seen these in the market, but never tried them and I have no ideas on how to prepare them. I love your story . . . I needed a good laugh.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and thanks for the sweet comment. I had a lot of fun painting that door. Most people that visit our home never see it . . you have to be staying over night because it is on the inside, so you see it as you close the door behind you. Just a little surprise, behind the door. Have a marvelous week, and thank you again for popping in, I adore company. Connie :)

  8. When I worked in the Community Garden we would pick them, clean them and eat them right there in the garden. Slice them up and eat 'em and they were good and they didn't stink. I'm wondering why those are stinky....hmmmm....

  9. Hi Susie, I had never heard of your vegetable before, but then there is a lot of them out there that I wouldn't try. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Emma is my great niece and is so adorable. She had a great time riding the pony, but she wouldn't ride on the one they wanted her to. It was just to big. Have a great day. A Missouri Friend.

  10. Never heard of them and wondering if you tried one yet...that would make another great post. =0) It sounds like some have. We must not get them where I live, but then again, brussel sprouts are a stretch for me. Now, artichokes - that's a good one!
    blessings!
