Come And Gone.......

Well the pork festival has come and gone...and I did not even go . This is the 1st year in , I do not know how long, that I never went. I usually meet my daughter Angie there on Friday. But this year she had taken the days for next weeks wedding and could not take Friday off.
The top photo are pins I have worn to the fest before. This is last years T-shirt. Things change, it almost seems sad. I remember when my daughters , grandkids, and I  would  watch the parade , sitting on a friend 's lawn. Our friend's kids would sell water and sodas. LOL. It always was a fun time.
Hope everyone has a great day . XO

  4. Hi Blondie girl, Thank you, I will be happy with family. I need a break from computer woes. I am hoping that everyone will take pictures and pass them to me as I am not taking my camera.. xoxo,Susie

  5. I love the little piggy pin!! Sounds like a fun day...sorry you missed it this year, Susie. I am so with you on holding onto summer this year. We didn't get much good weather this year...so the season seemed much too short! Or maybe I enjoyed having the kids up here so much this year, I just hate to see it all come to an end. I guess we have no choice! Like it or not...The season is changing, dear friend. We'll have to put on our big girl panties, and deal with it! Have a great time at the wedding that's coming up! Blessing to you, and your family!

    1. It did seem as though Spring was not a full season. Summer's weather was a bit rough at times. But come winter we will be longing for spring and summer again. Thank you for the blessings. xoxo,Susie

    1. HI Patti, Hopefully next year will not be as busy as this year has been. It's been busy and costly too. Hope you are having some nice days to enjoy this tail end of summer. Blessings, xoxo,Susie

  10. Yes-it is sad to see some of our "traditions" come to an end or change. I see it, too, Susie.

Those are cute pins and just think of the fun you had wearing then before. xo Diana

    1. Diana, I think some changes are slower than others. When it comes to family that is the way I want it. :):) I want to hold on to those adorable moments with my girls and their families. I remember I made my mom one of the pig pins too. She and I used to the fest the first day it opened. Angie and I will go again next year. xoxo,Susie

    1. Gert, The memories are good. I remember when my mom and I would go when the fest had it's first day open. I remember the year my daughter got 1st runner up in the Miss Pork contest. When my brother drove the queen in the parade. I even remember when my daughter's father and I drove a float of one of the nursing home. We were just dating then. It all makes me smile. xoxo,Susie
